Prague, darling! Post 587 - It's All About the Tutu (and a Spot of Ballet, Naturally!)

Hello my sweet lovelies! It's Wednesday again, and you know what that means: time for another dazzling blog post from yours truly, Emma, in her very favourite spot - Prague, darling! This glorious city has so much going on it's absolutely positively thrilling - just wait until you hear about my ballet adventures this week!

It's A Train Kind of Life

Remember that time I said my dream travel was by pony? Well, a girl's got to be practical, right? This week I've been travelling by train to Prague. Such a delightful journey, all those lovely views whipping past. It gave me the chance to lose myself in the most fabulously pink novel. The heroine? Well, you can probably guess she’s a ballerina. No spoilers, though!

First Night in Prague – Ballet! (What Else?)

Upon my arrival, my darling, I was simply positively bursting with excitement. My darling friend Anna met me at the station - how lovely it is to have friends all around the world! – and whisked me off for a tour of the city. Now, my darlings, Prague is not just beautiful, it’s a city made for ballet!

Firstly, you must understand, dear readers, that every time I visit a new city I simply have to get my paws on the best ballet outfit available. A tutu, my lovelies, is not a wardrobe option, it’s a life choice! This time, it’s a fluffy pale pink tulle tutu with exquisite embellishment in delicate shades of pale pink, and of course, it had to be a ballet shop in Prague that provided it! Now, if you don't find the perfect tutu for you when you travel, have you really been? Just a thought…

As for the ballet itself… Oh, my darlings, it was positively glorious! I saw "La Bayadere" by the National Theatre. And as a real bonus - they served the most delectable champagne at the interval. Absolutely positively dreamy.

Breakfast of Champions – Pastries, Pastel Colours, and Pink Power

Now, darling, a little known fact about Emma - I adore a proper breakfast! I mean, it's a good time to start your day, isn't it? Especially in a charming Parisian-esque patisserie in Prague! This week, I managed to track down a beautiful little coffee shop, tucked away down a cobblestone street, that reminded me of something out of a Jane Austen novel. Think fluffy, meringue-like croissants, warm berry pastries, and heavenly frothy cappuccinos - all consumed with the elegance of a true ballerina. You simply cannot have a day without a bit of pink power, so I decided to spice up my coffee break with a perfectly pink cupcake with dainty pastel swirls on the icing.

A Day of Ballet History

In true Emma style, of course, my day of exploration involved a trip to the National Theatre Museum. Not only did I find some fascinating history about Czech theatre and dance, I found a remarkable collection of original ballet shoes, tutus, and even a magnificent early 20th century dancer's journal - imagine, writing about ballet every single day! Just divine! I was inspired, darlings, absolutely inspired. To think - ballet history literally unfolding all around us! It gave me a new respect for the legacy of ballet, my lovelies. And speaking of legacy, I am so happy to continue to share mine with you.

A Night Out in Prague: Music, Magic, and My Pink Tutu

Now, darlings, even though I'm all about ballet, I couldn't possibly forget the enchanting, bohemian nightlife of Prague. I know this post is all about my tutu travels, but sometimes a little theatrical entertainment goes a long way, you see. It's part of what makes life absolutely positively fun!

This week, I had the privilege of seeing "La Traviata" at the Municipal House in Prague - it was a beautiful performance that gave me goosebumps and reminded me why opera is the ultimate expression of passion and human emotion.

Afterward, my darling Anna and I ventured into Prague’s charming Old Town Square for dinner at the most divine restaurant, perched above the bustle. I just adore the way the streets come alive after dark! It’s almost like the whole city becomes one big theatre stage. I do have a soft spot for a theatre that happens to have a terrace for people-watching, particularly when I can indulge in the delicious pastries. You know what I’m talking about, right, darling? I could absolutely get used to this, you know!

Life Lessons From A Ballerina in Prague (And a Little Something for YOU, My Darlings!)

After a truly unforgettable week, it’s back to Derbyshire for me, and for my next ballet performance. My journey is always about exploring the beauty in everyday life and, of course, wearing pink tutus as I do it! The more pink tutus out in the world, the better, I say. I truly believe that sharing the joy of ballet, music, and a healthy dose of pink fashion with all of you is the very best thing I can do. And while I might not be the biggest expert on ballet history (yet!), I sure know a thing or two about style! My dear readers, have you ever noticed how certain styles simply never go out of fashion?

Tip from a Tutu Pro: Keep Your Eyes On the Prize

For a girl who has never let go of her dream to be a ballerina, every day is an adventure. And even though you can’t always have your fairy-tale perfect dream-come-true, you can absolutely add a dash of pink sparkle to your own world! That’s the magic, the sheer bliss of it all. Life is a big, beautiful, constantly unfolding story and I’m here to share my latest chapters with you. I can't wait for you to join me again for the next chapter in my Prague adventures! Until then, wear your pink tutus with confidence and always remember, darlings - a little bit of ballet goes a long way!
