Prague: Ballet, Pink, and a Pony Ride! (Post #589)

Bonjour mes chéries! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another post on www.pink-tutu.com! This week, I'm bringing you a whirlwind of pink, ballet, and a touch of fairytale from the beautiful city of Prague. I must say, Prague is pretty magical.

I know, I know, "pink tutu" might sound a bit strange to you, but hear me out! Ever since I was little, I was mesmerised by ballet dancers swirling across the stage in their pink tutus. And now, I’ve embraced it as my signature look - it’s my way of spreading joy and encouraging everyone to be a little bit more whimsical. And who doesn't love a touch of pink, right?

This trip to Prague was a little different. Normally, I'd fly to get to these enchanting places. But for my travels here, I chose to take a long train journey. Think of it like a glamorous and elegant slow travel. There's something so romantic about watching the countryside rush by, and it allows me time to delve into some of my favourite books on ballet history. After all, where would we be without the ballerinas of yesteryear, setting those tutus twirling?

Speaking of twirling, my first stop in Prague was a lovely little ballet school, nestled in a quaint cobbled street. It was called "Ballet du Coeur," and oh my, it was utterly charming. They welcomed me with open arms and let me take part in their evening class, and I must tell you, it was exhilarating! The instructor, a beautiful woman with eyes as dark as coffee beans, had the most beautiful extensions - almost like she was dancing with feathers instead of limbs!

Now, this is a real "Pink Tutu" secret! After the ballet class, a real, live pony was waiting for me outside! The stables were just a short walk from the school, and this delightful little creature was adorned in a fluffy pink saddle, just perfect for my little post-ballet outing. And yes, it was exactly as lovely and magical as it sounds.

To end my evening on a real high note, I booked tickets for the Prague National Ballet. I found this hidden gem through a beautiful little bookstore tucked away in a back street, the smell of old paper and ink wafting from the shelves. The performance was sublime, the music stirring, and the dancers, so elegant in their ethereal costumes, seemed to float across the stage with grace and ethereal lightness. It was an absolutely breathtaking performance. I was particularly captivated by the ballet's portrayal of the Swan Lake. They made me feel like I was in the fairytale.

The next morning, I set out to explore the beauty of Prague itself. The streets are like a scene straight out of a fairytale. I took a walk along the Charles Bridge, taking in the stunning views and the beauty of the cobblestone streets. It felt as if I had stepped back in time.

Oh, and I mustn't forget to mention the shops. You wouldn't believe the delightful things I found in Prague! A whole world of beautiful, sparkly pink accessories. I snagged some fantastic vintage ballet shoes in a dusty little shop tucked away behind the Town Hall, a beautiful pink shawl for those cooler evenings, and, of course, some dazzling pink tutus! I'm quite sure, the shopkeepers would tell you that they never witnessed someone squeal with such delight. But honestly, I just couldn't help myself! You can’t just visit Prague, you need to embrace it, and the only way to embrace a city that beautiful, is in a pink tutu.

As evening drew in, I treated myself to a lovely, cosy restaurant serving traditional Czech food, enjoying a hearty stew with local wine and listening to the beautiful melody of Prague. It was a wonderful, authentic, and completely enchanting way to end the day.

I've barely touched the surface of what Prague has to offer - from the intricate art museums to the fascinating castles and, of course, the wonderful performances. I plan to explore some of these fascinating places next week. But I have to say, already, this little escapade to Prague has become one of my absolute favourites!

Prague has captured my heart. It is full of stories waiting to be discovered, romance around every corner, and the magical feeling that you are living in a fairy tale. And who wouldn't love a city with that sort of energy? Stay tuned for my next adventure, darling!

Now, what’s on tonight in the pink tutu world? Tonight's performance features one of my all-time favourite ballet stories - Coppelia. A tale of mischief, magic, and a beautiful dancing doll! As you know, my mission is to bring a little sparkle and a little bit of the “pink tutu” world into your everyday life. I'm hoping this little journey inspires you to explore the magic within you! Until next week!

Love, Emma, xxx
