Pink Tutu Prague: Ballet Bliss and Festive Sparkle (Post #609)

Hello darlings!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another dose of Pink Tutu Adventures! Today I'm whisking you all off to the magical city of Prague, a city that feels straight out of a fairy tale. I'm writing from my cozy little hotel room, nestled amidst the cobblestone streets and charming architecture, a cloud of tulle surrounding me (well, that's just my skirt, but you get the picture!).

Now, before I dive into all the breathtaking ballet and festive cheer Prague has to offer, let's talk about my journey! It started in Derbyshire, the beautiful English countryside where my heart always feels at home. A farewell to my darling family and friends, with promises of pink-tutu-filled postcards (and maybe even a ballet recital via video chat, because why not, right?) and I boarded the train.

A train journey is always an adventure for a ballerina like myself, particularly when you can wear a tutu with no judgement whatsoever! This time, my choice was a delicate, pastel pink number adorned with tiny glittering stars. It seemed only fitting for a journey to Prague, a city sparkling with its own unique charm. The train glided smoothly across the countryside, the views changing from lush green fields to majestic mountains, reminding me of those epic ballet backdrops. A couple of hours in, I treated myself to a dainty pastry and a cup of tea from the little trolley - always the highlight of any train ride!

Speaking of highlights, my arrival in Prague was nothing short of spectacular. The architecture! The cobbled streets! I almost danced out of the station I was so excited. Thankfully, I caught myself just in time to admire the imposing castle perched above the city. Truly awe-inspiring.

Now, onto the REAL reason for my Prague visit: Ballet! You all know I adore it, from classic Swan Lake performances to contemporary masterpieces. And Prague is a true ballet hub! Just a short walk from my hotel, nestled amongst medieval buildings and bustling market squares, lies the National Theatre, one of the city's most iconic landmarks and, oh my goodness, such a beautiful place for a ballet performance!

Today's show was the Czech National Ballet's rendition of The Nutcracker. It was absolute magic. The dancing was exquisite, the costumes breathtaking, and the entire theatre seemed to vibrate with a Christmas spirit. I found myself transported into a world of sugar plum fairies and mischievous mice.

I have to tell you, there's nothing quite like a performance under the twinkling lights of a beautifully adorned Christmas tree. Seeing the sparkle in the dancers’ eyes, the glint of a well-polished pointe shoe, the pure passion of every movement - it was just…pure bliss! And I, of course, went for a full Pink Tutu experience for the occasion: A gorgeous fuchsia number with a cascade of shimmering tulle. A true ballet fairytale, in pink!

Prague isn’t just a beautiful ballet-lovers’ haven, but also a fashion enthusiast's dream! Oh, the boutiques, the markets, the cobbled streets - every corner offers an exciting discovery! From chic designer boutiques to quaint antique shops, it's a joy to simply stroll and soak it all in. My current obsession is an exquisite pair of crimson velvet pumps with intricate embroidery. Perfectly paired with my favorite tutu, don’t you think?

Today, after ballet, I treated myself to a hearty goulash with a side of warm bread - truly, a delicious and filling meal. The restaurant had this gorgeous Christmas ambiance with twinkling fairy lights, candlelight, and carols softly playing. A little bit of holiday magic, right?

This evening, I plan to see the Christmas market in the Old Town Square, a riot of colour and aroma. I just have to find the perfect festive trinket to bring back as a souvenir. Maybe a charming miniature ballerina figurine or a beautiful hand-painted Christmas ornament? And don't you worry, I'll keep you updated on my Instagram (which, by the way, is where you can see all the details of my Prague pink tutu fashion.)

Tomorrow, I'm treating myself to a morning at one of the many lovely dance studios here in Prague, learning some beautiful new choreography from talented local instructors. It’s always a pleasure to discover new dance forms and meet other enthusiastic dancers. Of course, I’m wearing my favourite ballet skirt for the occasion - a delicate pale pink one that moves gracefully with every turn and leap. Nothing says ballet class like a pink tutu!

After the ballet class, I plan on spending a relaxing afternoon discovering the city’s many enchanting historical sights and charming cafes. Prague really is a place where history comes alive. But the best part? I’m always on the lookout for opportunities to spread the Pink Tutu message! Perhaps, I’ll even find a lovely lady who would be willing to wear a pink tutu and walk the city with me - spreading cheer and ballet joy to every corner. Isn't that a dream?

Now, I'll be signing off for the day, but stay tuned for more updates on the Pink Tutu adventures from Prague. Until next Wednesday!

Stay pink!

Emma
