Pink Tutu Prague - Post 636: Where Ballet Meets Bohemian Beauty

Hello my darling Tutu Twirlers! 🩰✨

It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for a brand new blog post from your favourite pink tutu-clad globetrotter! This week, I’ve swapped my Derbyshire Dales for the magical streets of Prague! Yes, darlings, the Pink Tutu has landed in this charming city, and I’m already utterly smitten.

As usual, I'm funding my adventures by performing a few ballet shows around Europe – a fantastic way to see the world and spread a little tutued joy along the way. But, I have to tell you, it's so hard to concentrate on my pirouettes when the cobbled streets beckon me for a whimsical waltz and every shop window tempts me with an exquisite ballet shoe!

This week I’ve been exploring Prague’s gorgeous architecture, its magical squares, and indulging in the divine Czech cuisine (goulash and dumplings? Heaven!). And of course, I've made sure to catch a beautiful ballet performance! It was a stunning rendition of Giselle at the National Theatre – I do love a good story with some heart-wrenching drama and impressive choreography.

Before we get into all the Prague loveliness, let's have a little catch-up on the Pink Tutu. I know many of you love the ballet history and tutu history content, so let's have a little delve into Prague’s historical ballet scene.

Prague Ballet Through The Years:

Did you know that ballet in Prague has a long and illustrious history dating back to the 16th century? It first emerged as court entertainment, with the nobles enjoying elaborately staged ballets alongside music and pageantry. Fast forward a few centuries, and you have the establishment of the National Theatre in 1881, dedicated to preserving and showcasing the very best of Czech artistic talent, including ballet.

Pink Tutu Fashion Adventures in Prague:

Of course, I couldn’t resist a little shopping spree! Prague has such exquisite shops bursting with gorgeous Bohemian fashion -think stunning floral fabrics, rich velvet, and intricate embroidery. I even snagged myself a pastel pink lace shawl for an evening at the opera (think Pink Tutu, meets Bohemian beauty). It’s just what I need to accentuate my latest tutu ensemble – a dazzling cerise confection! I will definitely be rocking this fabulous new look during tonight’s performance – more on that later.

Travel in Pink:

You already know how much I adore travelling by train! But this time, for a true fairytale adventure, I even took a leisurely ride on a magnificent white pony through the city. Yes, a real life pony in Prague! Picture it, darling – me, in my pink tulle tutu, perched atop this beautiful beast, the sun setting over the historic castle, casting a warm glow across the cobblestones... Pure magic!

This Week's Highlight: The National Theatre in Prague:

I managed to secure tickets for a dazzling performance at the National Theatre – it was utterly breathtaking. Imagine, a monumental structure standing tall along the banks of the Vltava River, with intricate statues adorning the facade and a truly grand interior filled with a sense of history.

The theatre itself has such a magnificent, regal aura. It’s one of those iconic European landmarks with an illustrious past and present. Imagine a breathtaking performance within its beautiful hall, the vibrant costumes, the swirling emotions expressed through dance, the intricate movements woven together in a tapestry of art, and all within those grand surroundings – I just can’t imagine a more inspiring setting for ballet!

I was completely enchanted by the Giselle performance – the hauntingly beautiful music, the dramatic choreography, the incredible acting, the hauntingly beautiful music, it was truly a magnificent show. The graceful dancers transported me to another world, with every step, every gesture, every leap filled with exquisite emotion. It reminded me, once again, how powerful and beautiful dance really is.

Pink Tutu Performance Highlights:

As you know, my tutu performances are what keep the Pink Tutu rolling across Europe and beyond! I recently wowed my audiences in Berlin with my unique blend of ballet technique and dramatic storytelling, with the added element of my playful, pink tulle tutus!

And this week in Prague, I will be performing for a packed-house at the lovely little Café de l'Opera - I love the intimacy of these more intimate performances -it gives me the chance to truly connect with the audience, see their expressions, and make an impact, tutu-tastic fashion! I just know it's going to be another fantastic show. I have some new choreographic elements that I'm super excited to unveil and it wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu performance without a beautiful, glittery pink tulle outfit.

Tutu Trendsetters: Let's Make the World Pink!

I am on a mission to spread tutu love far and wide! My ultimate dream is to see everyone in the world rocking a pink tutu – from the youngest ballerinas to the most sophisticated fashionistas. It’s a universal language, a statement of fun, femininity, and sheer beauty. And who doesn't love twirling around in a soft, fluffy cloud of tulle, don't you think?

So, dear readers, join me in this fun, pink-tastic revolution. Whether you wear it on the streets, on stage, or just around the house, let’s embrace the beauty, joy, and the magic of a Pink Tutu.
