Prague Diaries: Pink Tutu Takes On the Czech Republic! (Post #637)

Hello my lovely tutu-wearers! It's Wednesday again, which means another dazzling adventure from the land of pink, tulle, and twirling. Today I'm waltzing straight from Prague, a city that's as magical as a fairy tale. This week's adventures include, but are not limited to, dancing at the historic National Theatre, discovering some absolutely gorgeous vintage fashion, and - hold onto your hats, darling - I even managed to sneak in a pony ride! But, of course, we’ll get to all that in a bit.

Firstly, darling, you know me. I couldn’t possibly arrive in Prague without a pink tutu, and this time I’ve really outdone myself. It's a delicate rose-pink silk with a swirling design, like a blooming rose. It’s the most beautiful thing I've ever seen! Imagine the whispers, the admiring glances, the joyful giggles – and the photo opportunities. My lovely Derbyshire friend, Claire, is quite the photographer, so you can bet that our social media feeds will be ablaze with the prettiest shots of us all. We may even set up our own ‘pink tutu’ dance photoshoot! Now wouldn't that be fabulous?

Now, on to Prague. As you know, I travel for the magic of the dance, and Prague has never disappointed. I recently performed at the breathtaking National Theatre, where I took part in the final scenes of a gorgeous, full-length ballet. Standing on the grand stage, with the ornate décor, glittering chandeliers, and the appreciative murmur of the audience, it felt as though I’d stepped back in time, into some romantic period play.

For the show, I was given a vintage tutu – quite a charming one too. It was all lace and ruffles, like the most elaborate cupcake, with the lightest, fluffiest layers of tulle. It even had the most adorable little bow. Imagine the delight of dancing in that, feeling every ounce of grace and movement amplified! The atmosphere in that old, stately theatre was pure enchantment. You could sense history in every inch of the place.

You know how much I adore theatre, darling, it's right up there with pink tutus on my list of passions. The energy of the performance was electric! Everyone in the theatre seemed to be so fully invested in the world of the dance, completely absorbed by the story, which is exactly what makes the ballet such a truly magical form of storytelling. You know what's quite fascinating? Apparently, Prague was one of the first cities in Europe to embrace ballet as an art form. They’ve had a National Theatre ballet company for almost 200 years! That’s a long tradition of breathtaking performance and passionate artistry!

We mustn't forget the fashion. You see, darling, I cannot be on a trip, particularly a European adventure, without a delightful jaunt through the most charming shops I can find. I went down an alley filled with tiny little boutiques filled with vintage treasures! It was absolute heaven, darling! Imagine all the gorgeous fabrics, silks, velvets, and even the most gorgeous selection of pink lace you could dream of. I found the perfect lace to use for the finishing touches of my new tutu, and guess what? It has a little silver snowflake detail, adding the perfect amount of sparkle!

On another adventure, my friend and I decided to go explore the old part of town. We hired two of the most charming horses and took a delightful tour along cobbled streets and through a lovely green park, the wind in our hair, the sun warming our cheeks, I have to say, darling, that even with all the glamour of ballet performances, there is no feeling like a ride on a beautiful, noble creature! It was a perfect morning - beautiful sun, horses galloping across green pastures... It is the ultimate form of relaxation. I really recommend you give it a go!

This wonderful city is brimming with charm and delight. As we walked, we passed some stunning historical buildings, so grand, intricate and romantic, all embellished with exquisite statues and breathtaking art. I spent ages simply taking it all in - every building, every doorway, every detail seemed so romantic and timeless! It feels like a step back in time.

Oh, I must tell you about our fantastic evening at a restaurant right beside the Vltava River! I indulged in a magnificent plate of dumplings, a Prague staple. So scrumptious! And of course, a sweet, light dessert was essential – in pink, naturally. And I also had a cup of lovely Czech hot chocolate with cinnamon and a whipped cream crown! Perfect! The entire scene was pure perfection. Imagine it, darling: The romantic cityscape reflected in the waters of the Vltava as a warm, crimson sun set over the city… Truly magical.

Darling, you should definitely come to Prague! You know how much I love traveling, but this trip is particularly special. The sights, the sounds, the food – even the aroma of freshly baked bread in the air – they all weave together to make this a place I'd love to visit again and again. It's full of charming little corners to explore, delightful places to eat, beautiful scenery to drink in, and don't forget - some pretty excellent tutu shops too. But don't you worry darling - I’ll fill you in on all my secrets, of course.

As you know, I love sharing the adventures of life. I always enjoy chatting with all you beautiful pink-tutu-wearing lovely people! Why don’t you write a comment and tell me what adventures you would love to go on, and how we can spread the joy of the tutu around the globe! And don’t forget, I'll be here next week with another exciting update, filled with pink fashion, ballet dreams and even more fabulous travel experiences, right here on the pink-tutu website, at www.pink-tutu.com, every Wednesday at midday. Until then, may all your dreams come true, in pink tutus, of course.

And remember - life’s best stories begin with a twirl.

Lots of Love,

Emma
