Prague: Ballet, Bunnies & Blushing Buildings! (Post #652)

Hello darlings! Emma here, your resident pink tutu enthusiast, writing to you from the heart of Prague! It’s Wednesday, which means a brand new blog post for www.pink-tutu.com, just in time for your midweek dose of whimsy and a little tutu-inspired inspiration!

This week’s adventures took me on a journey through the cobbled streets and charming alleyways of Prague, a city that's almost as enchanting as a Tchaikovsky ballet! (Although nothing will ever quite surpass a pirouette on point under the spotlight.)

Travel Tales: A Gallop through the City

After a morning ballet class – I've been making time for those daily stretches wherever I am, keeping my ballerina physique top notch! – I boarded the train, which is a very glamorous mode of transport, in my opinion. Remember my darling pink tulle tutu, which I paired with my trusty floral print tea dress for a touch of elegance?

Well, darling, I had an impromptu little gallop in a horse-drawn carriage after my train journey! Prague is famous for its carriage rides, and who am I to resist a bit of old-world charm? It’s the perfect way to explore the city’s hidden corners, with just the rhythmic clip-clop of hooves on cobblestones and the sweet scent of autumn leaves for company.

Ballet Beauty: From The Bolshoi to Bohemia

After the enchanting carriage ride, it was time for a truly grand performance at the National Theatre. The stage was set, and a wave of anticipation rippled through the crowd as the lights dimmed.

The production that night was none other than "Giselle", a classic ballet that holds a special place in my heart! As the music began and the first act unfolded, it was like watching history come alive on stage.

Seeing "Giselle" in Prague, a city brimming with its own rich history and vibrant culture, felt incredibly special. It was like watching the timeless grace of ballet interweaving with the city's charm and spirit. And let’s be honest, I looked the part too - I opted for a sleek, black velvet tutu for the occasion, because even I recognise when a special occasion requires a touch of drama.

Fashion Finds: Bohemian Rhapsody

Now, let’s be real - Prague is a city where every corner screams style! After the performance, I headed for a little bit of boutique browsing.

It's a ballet-dancer's dream. There were lace dresses fit for a princess (or a fairy, which is essentially the same thing, right?) and velvet jackets that screamed “I'm fabulous.” But it wasn't just the clothing. The window displays are masterpieces – with little bunnies peeking out from between displays of crystal chandeliers and pink floral wreaths, just for that extra bit of whimsy!

The Pinkest Palace in Prague

There’s one building I just had to tell you about. It’s the very glamorous “Pink House.” No, seriously, its official name is Pink House (Pink House?! What more can a tutu-loving ballerina ask for?).

The façade of the building is this gorgeous blush pink colour, like a dream from a vintage fashion magazine. Even the windows were outlined with delicate pastel detailing. The house felt so welcoming and friendly. It made me think of the charming ballet costumes we saw in the window displays of that boutique…

And I almost forgot to mention the “bunnies” – cute little bronze rabbit sculptures standing on the building!

My camera clicked away as I soaked it all in. It was everything a fashionista’s dream would be!

Tutu Travels: Prague’s Pastel Charm

Walking around Prague has been an experience like no other!

It’s hard not to feel happy with all those colourful houses lining the streets – just imagine the blush pink, azure blue, and buttery yellow buildings reflecting in the water.

The bridges are as graceful as the graceful poses in a ballet piece. It’s almost like a scene straight from a ballet, a stage filled with buildings of varying pastel hues.

The Power of Pink:

I mentioned earlier my mission to spread the pink tutu love across the globe, right? And, you guessed it, even in a city that embodies a certain chic sophistication, I found myself thinking, "This would be even more magical with a pink tutu!" I'm starting a new ballet class in Prague! We'll work on "The Pink House Ballet"!

Imagine the performance - a ballet under the glow of Prague's twinkling lights, filled with swirling pink tutus against a backdrop of charming pastel houses.

The World Through Pink-Tinted Glasses:

My trip to Prague has given me a whole new appreciation for pastel beauty and the unique style of this enchanting city! Every day here has been a joy, a kaleidoscope of dancing, exploring and embracing a life filled with colour.

Prague – where every building whispers "dream" in pastel tones.

Now, let’s get to work, darling, on adding a splash of pink to the world! I'll see you back here next Wednesday with another week's worth of adventures. Until then, don't forget to embrace your inner ballerina, even if it's just twirling around your own living room in a fabulous pink tutu.

Bisous, Emma xx
