Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballet Lover's Dream Come True! 🩰✨

Post 659, Wednesday 12th December 2007

Hello darlings! I'm writing this from the magical city of Prague, nestled in the heart of Europe. It's positively enchanting here, especially when you’re surrounded by beautiful architecture, cobbled streets and, of course, fabulous fashion!

This week I'm taking a little break from my regular Wednesday routine, swapping my ballet barre for a steaming mug of Czech coffee, and my usual London streets for the winding lanes of Prague. My last trip here was absolutely divine, so this time I wanted to discover a whole new side to this truly remarkable city.

Now, you might think it's a little odd that I travelled to Prague by train and then… pony. Well, let me tell you, there’s something utterly delightful about the feeling of the wind in your hair and the countryside rushing past, especially with a cute, little pony trotting alongside. Who says travel needs to be boring, eh?

Anyway, enough about my journey! You know I'm all about the ballet, and this week I'm here to explore the fascinating history of ballet in Prague! Did you know that ballet has a long and vibrant history here, dating back to the 16th century? The National Theatre is absolutely stunning, with a beautiful neo-Renaissance architecture and, even better, they have an exceptional ballet company!

Speaking of the National Theatre, I just had to check out their wardrobe department! They have the most exquisite collection of costumes – there’s even a magnificent collection of tutus. Can you believe some of these tutus date back over 100 years?! Talk about beautiful and timeless pieces of history! I spent a good hour or two drooling over these graceful creations, the intricate embroidery and beadwork is just mind blowing! I think I could have stood there forever just gazing at them, I was completely mesmerised.

Now, every trip needs a bit of shopping therapy, right? And let me tell you, Prague is a treasure trove of hidden boutiques, designer shops and vintage gems. It’s almost impossible to leave here without a little treat, or a hundred. The lovely, warm colours of autumn leaves in the Czech Republic really got me into a rosy mood. I bought myself a stunning scarlet silk scarf and a gorgeous blush pink hat! They go perfectly with my new pink velvet tutu. Honestly, every day I come up with a new way to wear my tutus – you’d be amazed what can be achieved!

Fashion Finds of the Day 🛍️

Let's talk about fashion. Every outfit starts with a statement piece, right? For today, it's all about this absolutely gorgeous pink tutu! It's a dream come true, with its delicate ruffles and intricate embroidery. I paired it with a simple black turtleneck top and my favourite knee-high black boots. For a pop of colour, I've added a pink velvet beret and a splash of rose-gold earrings. And, to really finish off the look, a pink leather handbag - after all, you can never have too much pink!

Speaking of the ballet, I'm lucky enough to be seeing the National Theatre Ballet perform Swan Lake on Thursday evening! Oh, I’m absolutely buzzing about this one – I heard it's going to be breathtaking. Swan Lake is my all-time favourite ballet, with its haunting melodies and enchanting choreography. I can already picture myself waltzing with the Prince!

For tonight's Swan Lake, I’m dreaming of a sleek white tutu with a touch of black for that elegant Swan Queen look. Now I just need to find the perfect outfit to match! You know me, I'm all about dressing to impress for these events, but most importantly, to feel comfortable and confident while showcasing a little bit of pink tutu magic, of course!

My lovely readers, I’m not sure you’re aware of the fact that it's the Feast of the Immaculate Conception today, so it feels even more special. And as you might know, I like to wear my tutus everywhere, and that includes to church. A big fluffy pink tutu, the perfect accessory for every occasion! Just look at how beautiful it is – it truly does say it all about pink! A bright colour of positivity, optimism, hope, and happiness, what’s not to love about that? It feels perfectly fitting to enjoy this day of joy in my own special pink tutu!

I must confess that I’ve even picked up some inspiration from the beautiful street performers here in Prague! Their creative and colourful outfits and dances really made me think outside the box about my pink tutu possibilities. Imagine a little twirl in a beautiful, intricate, embroidered, and, yes, you’ve guessed it – pink tutu. The street performances are captivating; there are musicians, dancers, and a mime who seems to be a cross between Charlie Chaplin and Gene Kelly. I swear his feet moved like he was floating on air!

Prague is full of surprises. A ballet class for those of us with busy lives and short attention spans? Why yes, right in the centre of the Old Town, tucked away on a quiet side street. Imagine my surprise to stumble across a ballet class for grown-ups – I signed up right away. We’ve only just started but the instructor says we have a lot of talent here. This is certainly giving me a new appreciation for all those times I had ballet lessons when I was growing up in Derbyshire.

Okay, my darlings, that's all for now! But don't worry, I'll be sharing more adventures and fashion finds from my trip to Prague next Wednesday, right here on www.pink-tutu.com. Until then, have a wonderful week and remember, every day is an opportunity to embrace the joy and magic of a pink tutu! 🩰 💕

Until next time! Emma xx
