Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballerina's Journey Through Time, Post #658

Wednesday, 5th December 2007

Good morning darlings! It’s Wednesday, which means a brand new blog post is waiting for you right here on www.pink-tutu.com, bursting with all things pink and twirling. As usual, my week has been a whirl of ballet, travel and – oh, did I mention? – shopping!

This week, I’m whisking you off to the magical city of Prague, a place where history and charm twirl together like a perfect arabesque. You know I adore Europe, and there’s just something special about Prague – the cobbled streets, the majestic architecture, the dreamy atmosphere, all begging to be explored in a fabulous pink tutu, of course.

It all started with a performance at the Nottingham Theatre Royal last week, a stunning rendition of “Swan Lake”. The applause was exhilarating, and it fuelled my wanderlust even more. As I was dancing through the closing scene, I knew I had to book a train ticket to Prague, where my favourite ballet troupe, The Czech National Ballet, are performing this month.

The journey was an adventure in itself, filled with the gentle sway of the train carriage, the soft clatter of the tracks, and, of course, the usual flurry of pink tutus on display in my travel wardrobe. There’s something undeniably elegant about the combination of a vintage, velvet travelling coat and a fluffy tulle tutu – it just screams Parisian chic with a dash of ballet ballerina magic.

Arriving in Prague, my first order of business was a long, leisurely stroll through the Old Town Square. Imagine the setting: an ornate astronomical clock, charming little cafes overflowing with delicious pastries, and even a stunning Christmas market, where you can find everything from hand-knitted wooly hats to delicate handmade baubles. And of course, let’s not forget the abundance of fairy lights and Christmas decorations. It was like walking into a fairy tale!

Now, let’s talk fashion! My little trip to Prague would be incomplete without a stop at the fashion boutiques tucked away in the cobbled streets. Imagine rows of shimmering fabrics, flowing silks, and lace designs – perfect for a future ballet performance, don’t you think? I’m already envisioning a shimmering, iridescent pink tutu, complete with a flowing tulle skirt that practically dances on its own.

After my shopping spree, I went to see a truly incredible ballet performance at the stunning National Theatre. You can just imagine the scene: velvet curtains, intricate chandeliers casting shadows over the audience, and of course, an enchanting performance by some of the most talented dancers in the world. The ballet I saw was "La Bayadère" - oh, how it brought tears to my eyes.

As I settled into my seat, the symphony began playing its exquisite notes and the ballerinas gracefully glided across the stage. The energy in the theatre was palpable.

Following the performance, there was a stunning gala reception filled with delicious pastries, crisp champagne, and a lovely conversation about the ballet.

Of course, after such a busy day, a well-deserved sleep in my charming, cosy little hotel room was a necessity! With every glimpse out the window at the twinkling lights and snowy roofs of Prague, I felt a sense of complete joy.

This is the true beauty of travel. Not only does it nourish the soul, but it inspires us to embrace the magic in everyday life. And who knows? Perhaps my next travel blog will see me twirling through another fascinating city, pink tutu and all. Until next Wednesday, my lovelies!

Remember: spread the pink tutu love! Let's get the world wearing tulle and embracing their inner ballerina!
