Pink Tutu Prague - Blog Post 657: The Magic of Prague

Hello darlings! Itā€™s Wednesday again, which means a new blog post for you all! I'm back from a whirl through Prague, and my, oh my, it was such a trip! I know, I know, you might be thinking "Emma, what could possibly be so captivating about Prague?" Well, let me tell you, Prague has got something truly special.

The Perfect Pink Itinerary

Prague, with its fairytale charm and cobbled streets, instantly felt like the perfect setting for a Pink Tutu adventure! Think fairytale castles, stunning bridges draped with golden lights, and delicious pastries galore! The city felt so much like the fairytale stories I loved as a little girl, and all I could think was that every little ballerina princess deserves a trip here.

This week's blog post is all about my adventure to Prague and a peek at how a Pink Tutu Princess lives life on the road!

Pink Tutu Prague: A Fairy Tale Unfolding

My journey began with a truly luxurious train ride. Yes, a train journey! My dear friend (and the very talented dancer, Lily Rose) and I boarded the sleeper train to Prague from Dresden. With comfy little bunks, amazing views of the German countryside, and a bottomless supply of coffee (a true essential for any tutu-wearing diva), we spent a gloriously romantic and relaxed journey catching up on all the ballet gossip. Weā€™d booked an extra-large compartment and dressed up for the trip, with Lily in a floral tea dress and me in a soft-pink, lace tutu dress ā€“ just perfect for catching a few catnaps on the way!

I canā€™t over-emphasise the beauty of travelling by train. Watching the landscape transform from vibrant green fields to ancient castles with breathtaking snow-capped mountains in the distance truly transported me to another world. Plus, thereā€™s no denying that thereā€™s something utterly glamorous about travelling by train ā€“ a truly graceful way to see the world, just like the graceful ballet dancer you see here!

Upon our arrival at Pragueā€™s enchanting main station, we took a little taxi to our hotel and checked in with such excitement! Our hotel was a beautiful old building with stunning high ceilings and intricately patterned wallpaper, plus it was in the heart of Prague ā€“ perfectly positioned for all our exploring adventures!

After dumping our bags and a quick refresh, I immediately ventured out to scout the best pink tutu locations! As luck would have it, my friend, Lily, was keen for a quick peek at the famous Prague Astronomical Clock (oh, did I mention Prague is renowned for its history?). A truly mesmerizing mechanism that, with an almost magical charm, features little figures of various professions appearing every hour! I immediately saw that the colours of the clock, the dark blue night sky contrasted with gold and emerald greens, were perfect to show off the contrasting hues of my pink tutu.

A Romantic Rendezvous with Pragueā€™s History

Our afternoon was dedicated to soaking up all the magical charm of Prague. We strolled down the Old Town Square, the heart of the city, where you can almost feel the history and bustle.

Pragueā€™s bridges are just beyond breathtaking. Walking across the Charles Bridge was an enchanting experience! I had imagined all the history that passed across the cobbled stone beneath my tutu-clad feet, centuries of kings, emperors, and even ordinary citizens. The Bridge is lined with gorgeous Baroque statues of religious figures, making me feel as if I was stepping into one of my favourite historical ballets! It was the perfect moment for a little twirl under the stunning architecture, a twirl that surely impressed the pigeons below!

The sunset in Prague, with its beautiful, glowing colours reflecting upon the Vltava River, felt straight out of a fairytale! A moment where you truly understand why the city is known as ā€œthe City of a Hundred Spiresā€. This stunning skyline makes the entire place feel like it's straight out of a dream, with the old-world beauty making every corner a potential inspiration for the perfect Pink Tutu pose!

Pink Tutu Dreams and Ballet Beauty

Of course, I couldn't visit Prague without seeing a ballet show! The National Theatre, known for its beauty, history and spectacular ballet productions, hosted an incredible production of Giselle! I truly love the tragic love story of the beautiful country girl who falls in love with a prince, the intricate choreography, and the haunting, ethereal music of the second act when the Wilis dance their captivating and vengeful routines.

Prague was a wonderful place to feel inspired and energized, allowing me to revisit my favourite tutu moments from classic ballets like Giselle! My love for all things pink was magnified a thousandfold in Prague. The streets themselves were a dream for any tutu princess. Imagine a tutu-wearing ballerina floating through these magical streets, her pink tutus shimmering in the light, with the incredible architecture as the perfect backdrop for a thousand photographic moments!

Fashion Finds and Indulgent Delights

Prague wasnā€™t just about beautiful ballet and fairytale locations - it also gave me some spectacular opportunities for my fashion hunt!

Now, if you know anything about Prague, itā€™s that the Czech Republic has some wonderful and unique craftspeople. And this leads me to the delightful shops, with their captivating colours, amazing materials, and beautiful handmade details! Of course, Iā€™ve got to have a peek at every shop! My shopping spree included delicate vintage pieces in the most dreamy colour palette! This gave me the chance to create new looks to perfectly complement my tutu wardrobe for future adventures!

While I was in Prague, I couldn't resist indulging in some delicious Czech delights! I am absolutely convinced that there are no more gorgeous, more aesthetically pleasing, more indulgent pastries in the whole world! From fluffy and buttery cakes, decorated with sugar roses and sugared almonds, to incredible gingerbread biscuits shaped into playful little mice or adorable miniature horses ā€“ there was a tasty treat for everyone!

Of course, with these delightful snacks, a warm mug of rich and aromatic Czech hot chocolate, or a steaming mug of steaming peppermint tea with an added touch of honey and lemon, made my evenings oh so relaxing! A truly delicious end to my daily Pink Tutu Prague escapades.

More Than Just a Pink Tutu

This trip to Prague proved to me once more that there's magic in the ordinary, in every little thing, in every little detail. Whether it's finding beauty in a cobblestone street or spotting a glimmering window that reflects the last rays of sunset, I found myself mesmerised by every corner of Prague.

I find myself returning again and again to the idea of "more than just a pink tutu". The pink tutu, as my devoted readers know, is more than just an accessory ā€“ it's an expression of creativity and joy. Itā€™s an inspiration for people from all walks of life.

And I hope you can find some of that in this post! That each time I travel, each time I step outside my Derbyshire comfort zone, each time I embark on a new ballet adventure, I gain a deeper appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us all. It makes me wish for a world where every single person embraces their inner joy, creativity and magic with a smile and a twirl!

Join Me Next Week!

Stay tuned, dear friends, for next week's blog post! I'm going to tell you all about a truly memorable and unexpected ballet event ā€“ it's not a traditional stage performance, no sir, not at all, but just you wait until you see it! You're gonna love it. Trust me!

Until then, remember to embrace your inner princess and find those sparkly moments in every day! And don't forget to wear pink!

With much love, Emma

xx
