Prague, Oh Prague! A Ballet-Filled Adventure in Pink, Post #734
Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad travel enthusiast, Emma, here, reporting live from the utterly enchanting city of Prague! This week, we're leaving behind the familiar fields of Derbyshire (though I can't wait to get back to our weekly ballet class at the Derby Ballet School!), and stepping into a world of cobbled streets, charming cafes and… oh, so many beautiful tutus! Yes, I'm practically a walking advertisement for my beloved pink tulle, but how can one resist, when even the ancient buildings here seem to whisper tales of graceful ballerinas?
Travels in Pink:
Now, I'm a creature of habit when it comes to travelling. There's something about the romance of a train journey that just calls to me. Picture this: my favourite pink cashmere cardigan, a crisp white blouse and, naturally, a ballet-length tutu (in a soft, blush shade this time) to ensure my journey was as comfortable and chic as can be. I took the train from Berlin (I do adore a good train adventure), and arrived in Prague with the setting sun painting the sky in shades of pink, just as if it were in tune with my wardrobe!
And oh my goodness, you wouldn't believe the thrill I had arriving at my hotel! They've a magnificent staircase adorned with exquisite artwork, which has me dreaming of waltzing gracefully up and down it in a sparkly, voluminous tulle gown (something a little more dramatic than my travel tutu). But first, a celebratory glass of sparkling wine, naturally!
Prague, a Ballet Lover's Dream
This city, darling, is a veritable ballet lover's paradise! From the beautifully preserved historical buildings, seemingly frozen in a ballet dancer’s arabesque pose, to the cobbled streets, which I imagine dancers gliding across, the whole city breathes a romantic, artistic air.
Today, it's all about soaking up the local culture, and there's nothing I love more than getting swept up in the magic of a live ballet performance. And, you won't believe this – I'm taking a class at the prestigious Ballet Prague Studio! I just can’t wait to feel the joy of graceful movement and learn some new steps from a true master.
On My Prague Programme
It's 20th May, and this lovely city has a calendar bursting with delights, both on and off the stage! Here’s what’s captivating me this week:
Today: It’s Ballet Class at Ballet Prague Studio! After this exciting workshop, I’m looking forward to getting my feet tired and shopping for some of Prague's lovely ballet shoes, naturally. A good dance needs a comfortable foot and the shoes are my secret weapon.
Later this week: The National Theatre's production of "Swan Lake"! I’m positively thrilled for this performance, a classic that I'm positively giddy to see, and the National Theatre building is a sight in itself – it's just utterly exquisite! I'll be sporting a voluminous, dreamy tulle tutu in a muted lavender colour (I have a thing for delicate colour pairings).
And of course…
There are those little details that add that extra layer of fun to any travel experience. This week, we’re taking a horse-drawn carriage ride through the charming Old Town Square. I envision myself seated in a classic black carriage, adorned in a vibrant pink tutu with the prettiest embellishments, like a vision of fairytale elegance. Imagine: the clip-clop of horse hooves against cobblestones, the soft, evening breeze, and the twinkling lights of Prague in the background – pure enchantment!
Fashion Finds and Foodie Adventures:
Shopping, darling, is a key part of my travelling experiences! My suitcase may be already full (and bursting at the seams), but a trip to Prague would be utterly incomplete without a little sartorial indulgence. This week I have my sights set on:
- Bohemian Glamour: Bohemian style, all flowing fabrics and colourful designs, just resonates with my love for the artistic flair of dance. I can't wait to discover some unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. Maybe some embroidery with floral motifs – just imagine how spectacular that would look paired with my pink tutu!
- A Touch of Couture: Prague's ateliers have the most stunning lace and silk, perfect for crafting elegant, statement ballet garments. You'll find me hunting for the most delicate materials and whimsical embellishments to embellish my wardrobe – I'm thinking ruffles and ribbon cascades in the most gorgeous hues of blush and pink!
Prague's Sweet Treats: Indulgence in its most delicious form! I’m planning a delightful treat of delicious chocolate, macarons, and a very decadent crepe.
The Beauty of Sharing:
As always, I'm absolutely thrilled to share my adventures with you all. Keep your eyes glued to this space, darling, for more stories of pink tulle, magical moments in Prague, and everything beautiful that comes with exploring this city.
So remember, darlings, embrace the pink! And until next Wednesday, may your lives be filled with twirls, sunshine and, of course, fabulous tutus!
Love, Emma
