Prague, Prague, Glorious Prague: Post 736, My Pink Tutu Travels!

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

Good morning lovelies! I hope this finds you all in the midst of a perfect pirouette. It's your favourite tutu-wearing travel blogger, Emma, reporting live from the charming cobbled streets of Prague, the "City of a Hundred Spires".

Let me just say, Prague has stolen a little piece of my heart. The architecture is like a dream come true, every corner you turn revealing another gorgeous building, a new spire reaching for the sky. I just love a good spire - don't you? They add such a delightful dash of grandeur, and you know I can't resist a good dash of glamour, especially when paired with a whimsical pink tutu, of course.

Speaking of whimsy, the highlight of my week (so far!) has been experiencing the "PinkTutuPrague Ballet" at the magical National Theatre. The programme showcased the talents of a stunning array of ballerinas, showcasing exquisite, captivating performances with such incredible artistry and technical mastery. Their artistry left me speechless - it was simply divine! Of course, the entire performance felt very special, but my absolute favourite number was the "White Swan" act, just sublime and utterly captivating. I don't think I stopped smiling throughout the whole thing! The beautiful costumes were inspired, each with its own special grace, a touch of fairytale magic weaving its way into the graceful performance. The costumes, my dears, they were exquisite! The ballerina's tutus were works of art in their own right. I felt like I was caught in the middle of a storybook come to life!

And talking of costumes, I simply had to pick up a gorgeous pink tutu from the delightful "La Danse" boutique nestled in a tiny alleyway near the theatre. They are known for their high quality, handmade tutus that capture the magic of dance in the most delightful way. My latest addition - a luxurious feather-trimmed pink tulle creation - perfectly matches the dreamy pink blush of the Prague sunrise. What can I say? I just adore pink, and I know you love it too!

The Perfect Ballet Getaway: A Guide To Prague

I've discovered that Prague is simply perfect for ballet lovers like us! Let me share some insider tips for making your own Pink Tutu Prague getaway, oh-so-perfect.

Pink Tutu Performances:

Prague boasts some amazing ballet companies! It is a city overflowing with ballet culture, so you are sure to be spoilt for choice, but don't forget to visit the National Theatre to experience some of the finest performances in Prague. I'd also recommend visiting the Prague State Opera, their performances are breathtaking! If you are looking for a more intimate experience, check out the Dancing House, a modern dance studio which regularly features innovative and engaging productions. They have an intriguing modern flair. If you're lucky, you might even spot a "pink tutu" performer. You know I'd be there!

The Pink Tutu Shopping Scene:

Prague has such amazing shops - don't miss out! You must wander through the enchanting boutiques on the famous Old Town Square. It's truly magical, all these cobblestone alleys with little hidden gems. The area feels like stepping into a fairy tale, just like the storybooks I used to love as a little girl, but much prettier. If you're searching for pink tutu treasures, make a beeline for "La Danse", **"Ballet Boutique" in the New Town, or browse the whimsical "Atelier Rossignol" near the Charles Bridge. They're bursting with colourful fabrics, delightful accessories and even a charming little ballet boutique called "Les Balletins". It was simply delightful to find all these charming ballet-themed boutiques tucked away on this gorgeous city.

A Tutu's Delightful Take on Czech Food:

Prague is known for its delicious traditional cuisine! You can't miss trying their hearty Goulash, especially with their freshly baked Trdelník pastries – perfect with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream. Don't forget the Svíčková, their national dish. It's a delightful blend of tender beef with a creamy mushroom sauce - you will love it. You simply must try their delicious Czech beer, too - their local brew. But remember, with all that yummy food, don't forget to leave space for those famous "Pink Tutu" trdelník!

The Travel Chronicles

And let's talk travel! The journey itself was half the fun! The trip from Derby to Prague is quite the adventure. I took a lovely overnight train journey through the picturesque countryside. I was enchanted by all those sleepy towns - so quaint and charming! The beauty of nature is simply breath-taking - green fields, rolling hills, sparkling rivers!

Of course, a train journey isn't quite complete without a glamorous addition, my lovelies! You guessed it - my pink tutu! As always, it caused a bit of a stir. Just think - a sea of tired, sleepy passengers and a lone, pink tutu princess standing tall! It was an enchanting experience - everyone around me started smiling, some even chuckled a little and pointed in delight. I love spreading a bit of pink tutu magic everywhere I go. It reminds me that life's just a bit more magical when you embrace those quirky moments.

I might be slightly biased, but my personal favourite way to explore the Czech countryside is on a pony ride. This week, I discovered a small pony-drawn carriage tour at a little horse farm outside of Prague. It was the most romantic way to spend an afternoon discovering the enchanting countryside - and, of course, wearing my tutu! The ride took us to a scenic little forest area, then across the rolling meadows where I had a picture-perfect photo shoot with the little horses! They were delightful!

Tutu Thoughts: The Magic of Prague

Prague's captivating charm, coupled with the passion for the arts, has me completely smitten! I'm dreaming of another pink tutu adventure, a return to this magical city soon. Perhaps in autumn, when the leaves are bursting into fiery colours - a magnificent sight for the eyes!

Oh, my lovelies, do let me know if you have ever visited Prague. And be sure to leave your own comments in the Pink Tutu Community Forum at www.pink-tutu.com! I just know we all have something in common - we're always on the lookout for new adventures! And remember, dear reader, life's too short for boring fashion! Get ready to spin and twirl, embrace the world in your pinkest, most fabulous, tutu! And do remember - the pink tutu life is always worth living!

Until next Wednesday, Emma xo
