Prague, My Love! A Pink Tutu Adventure (#774)

Hello my darlings! It’s Wednesday, so you know what that means: another fabulously pink post from your favourite tutu-wearing blogger! This week, I'm whisking you off to the enchanting city of Prague. It's been a whirl of waltzes and wonder, so settle in for a little peek at my pink-tinted adventures!

Prague is just utterly charming. It's like stepping back in time, but with a modern twist – like a fairytale with a touch of street style. Think cobblestone streets lined with gorgeous old buildings, bustling markets overflowing with treasures, and stunning views from every corner. Oh, and did I mention the delicious Czech food? This city knows how to make a girl feel spoilt.

Dancing on Cobblestones

One of the things that really made this trip special was the chance to catch a breathtaking ballet performance at the stunning National Theatre. It was my first time seeing a show in such a historic and beautiful space. The sheer scale of the theatre took my breath away. It felt so grand, yet intimate at the same time – the perfect setting for a graceful evening of dancing.

Before the performance, I made sure to check out the exquisite interiors. All the ornate details, from the swirling chandeliers to the gilded carvings, were just heavenly. You can't imagine how my camera went into overdrive, trying to capture the beauty of it all! As a girl who loves ballet, I felt a special kind of magic in the theatre’s air.

But it wasn’t just about the show. The whole evening felt magical. The streets were buzzing with people, enjoying the evening, dressed in their most fabulous attire. I felt completely inspired by the romantic, old-world vibes, especially the way everyone paired their elegant outfits with some serious attitude.

Speaking of style, I obviously had to wear something fabulous for the occasion. My choice was a custom-made blush pink tutu – light as a feather, yet striking and sophisticated. I paired it with a black velvet bodice, and of course, my favourite black sparkly ballet pumps – a dash of sparkle goes a long way, don't you think?

Tutu Time Travel

Prague is absolutely overflowing with historical treasures. From the magnificent Prague Castle to the iconic Charles Bridge, it feels like walking through a living museum, just overflowing with stories of royalty, revolution and romance. But my favourite part? I discovered a fantastic shop called The Ballerina which had the most incredible collection of vintage ballet tutus. Honestly, my eyes practically popped out of my head when I saw those beautiful tutus, made with the finest fabrics and detailing.

Now, I can't talk about tutus without giving a little history lesson. Believe me, these fluffy beauties are bursting with historical significance. Back in the 19th century, they were a true symbol of aristocratic flair and a statement of sophistication. And for me? They are still a symbol of empowerment, of grace and femininity. Every time I wear my own little tutu, I feel like I can conquer the world (or at least, look incredible doing it!)

After all my tutufying and theatre adventures, I’m determined to start a new collection for my ballet wardrobe! It’s a real passion of mine to seek out the history and style of tutus throughout the ages.

I wonder if my next vintage find is lurking around a corner in Prague.

Shopping with a Sparkle

No trip to a beautiful city is complete without some seriously delicious retail therapy. And I’m all about exploring charming boutiques and finding the perfect unique pieces that whisper ‘Prague’ in every detail.

From hand-crafted jewellery to vintage hats to local ceramics, Prague has an extraordinary selection of independent shops, and each one is a treasure trove of exquisite goodies. I couldn’t resist treating myself to a gorgeous vintage porcelain doll in a pink tutu! Of course, I added her to my little ballerina doll collection – she looks absolutely charming sitting in my suitcase, just waiting for a new adventure!

Sweet Treats and Pretty Pansies

I can’t leave Prague without indulging in the incredible array of sweet treats the city has to offer. Prague has the best bakeries! Imagine, freshly baked pastries, gooey cakes and crispy, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate – all presented so beautifully, It's enough to make a girl swoon! And then there's the traditional Czech Trdelník: a delicious spiral-shaped pastry dusted with sugar. Just the perfect way to indulge a sweet tooth – you won't believe how delicious these things are!

I especially loved taking long walks through the city’s parks, taking time to admire the beautiful, vibrant flowers and gardens. Everything was blooming in bright pink shades. My inner child had the most joyful day!

Prague, you are a beauty. You have stolen my heart!

Oh, and let me tell you – there are pink tutu dreams coming true! I met the sweetest shop owner in Prague's Old Town. Her shop is overflowing with delightful frilly things, perfect for girls like me who love a touch of whimsy in their wardrobe. We chatted about ballet, about how important it is for women to embrace their femininity, and you know what she told me?

She thinks it’s time to start a “Pink Tutu movement” – to encourage all women to feel confident and empowered, by celebrating all that's beautiful and playful in life! This was music to my ears, and let’s be honest, music to the soul! The best part is, she wants me to help spread the message, and you can too!

Stay tuned my darlings! There’s a whole world of tutus, travels, and fun things in store for us!

Love,

Emma
