Prague Post #811 - Tutus, Trains & Tiaras 🩰

Hello darlings!

It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... it's time for a new Pink Tutu Prague blog post! This week, I've been absolutely twirling with excitement because I finally arrived in the most magical city - Prague!

It all began last week with a rather nerve-wracking performance at the National Theatre in Derby. I'd chosen to perform 'The Dying Swan' by Saint-Saëns, because honestly, who can resist a little swan-like drama? The crowd was lovely, the applause was thunderous, and after the final curtain call, I received a generous donation which, thanks to the power of planning and a little bit of tutu magic, covered the cost of my train ticket to Prague! Speaking of tutus, have I mentioned that I'm sporting a rather spectacular creation in cherry blossom pink - perfect for all the charming cobblestone streets and whimsical architecture Prague has to offer.

After a charmingly old-fashioned journey on the Eurostar (don't you just love how trains make everything seem a little bit more magical?) I arrived in Prague, ready to embrace all things beautiful and sparkly.

A Fashionable Prague Odyssey 👠

The moment I stepped off the train, I knew Prague was going to be my new favourite city. The buildings - so impossibly beautiful with their intricate towers, turrets and stained glass windows - they just whispered stories of royalty, elegance and fairytale romance. And then there were the shops! I practically pirouetted down the streets of Prague with my shopping bag in one hand and my trusty travel guide in the other, already picturing the fabulous ensembles I'd create.

Oh, darlings, the boutiques here are like treasure chests bursting with vintage finds and timeless pieces. I even stumbled upon a shop brimming with antique hats - perfect for creating a unique ballerina look.

Of course, my quest for the perfect tutu took me to the beautiful Old Town Square. There, I spotted the most adorable little boutique with lace, ribbons and silk in every colour imaginable. You won't be surprised to know that I left with not one, but two new additions to my tutu collection - a whimsical lavender-hued creation and a sassy scarlet red masterpiece!

Speaking of things magical, did you know that the Astronomical Clock in Old Town Square is a true spectacle? Imagine a clock that not only tells the time, but also features moving figures that perform a little puppet show every hour!

Let's Talk History (with a side of Pink, of course!)

Prague, darling, it's a city that whispers history in every cobblestone and whispers a story in every charming street corner. We're talking 12th century origins! Now, imagine this: medieval Prague, its residents swirling in courtly dances. Did they wear tutus? Oh darling, I can only imagine the elegant designs they had!

My little pink tutu notebook (yes, you read that right, it's pink!) has already been filled with all the details I've learned about Prague’s history. The legendary Castle - you can almost picture graceful ladies in gowns waltzing through its halls. I can't wait to spend a full day exploring it tomorrow.

What's on in Prague this Wednesday?

Today, Wednesday 10th November, was a magical day full of Parisian glamour - Prague hosted the opening of a breathtaking new ballet exhibition! Can you believe it, darlings? I actually get to spend the evening immersed in a world of tulle, toe shoes, and artistic masterpieces. I know exactly what outfit to wear - the crimson tutu with a splash of sparkling pink!

As you've probably gathered, darling, Prague is a true gem - beautiful, inspiring, and perfect for unleashing your inner ballerina!

Until next Wednesday,

Emma XOXO
