Pink Tutu Prague: Ballet Dreams in a City of Dreams (Blog Post #823)

Hello lovelies! It’s Emma here, your resident pink tutu enthusiast, ready to whisk you away to the magical city of Prague! This week, I’m ditching the cobbled streets of Derbyshire for the charming cobblestones of Prague, a city overflowing with history, culture, and of course, breathtaking architecture.

But let's get real - the only thing on my mind when I'm in a new city is ballet, my darlings! And Prague, you know, is a city brimming with talent. Just like a ballet shoe bursting with energy, Prague has a heart that beats to the rhythm of classical music and the graceful movements of dance.

Before I dive into the magical ballet world of Prague, a quick fashion update. I'm rocking my brand new, hot pink tutu - a masterpiece by the Parisian design house "Ballet Boutique." It features exquisite embroidery of dancing swans, a touch of sequined shimmer, and layers upon layers of tulle, enough to make any swan jealous! Let’s just say, I’m turning heads in the charming little streets of Prague!

Prague Ballet Delights

So, my first stop in Prague was a visit to the breathtaking National Theatre. It’s an architectural masterpiece, right on the bank of the Vltava river. Talk about fairytale vibes, it truly looked straight out of a fairytale storybook.

For this visit, I donned my brand new sparkly ballet shoes (a little sparkly for the day, but I couldn’t resist) and a shimmering lavender tulle dress – I'm a true believer in colour coordination, you know? The theatre's grand, neo-renaissance style and ornate dĂ©cor was absolutely breathtaking. My head spun as I imagined all the ballets that graced its stage throughout the years. It’s simply mesmerizing!

And to my absolute delight, on this particular Tuesday evening, the programme featured a captivating ballet rendition of “Giselle.” Now, you all know how much I adore this tragic tale of love, betrayal, and ghostly redemption. I was captivated by the performance. The principal dancers' effortless leaps, the graceful fluidity of their movements, the intricate choreography – everything just resonated with me!

Speaking of choreography, have you ever heard of "Pink Tutus on Pointe"? This phenomenal street dance troupe brought a unique flavour to the Prague ballet scene with their outrageous outfits - every shade of pink, imagine! - and captivating routines. Think contemporary ballet meets street-style flare, sprinkled with a healthy dose of pink and glitter! Their high energy, the captivating stage presence of the dancers, their impeccable technique, the fact that they are wearing a myriad of pink tutus! Chef’s kiss! They really raised the bar on Prague street performances, my darlings. It's what you call "ballet couture," truly.

Of course, a visit to Prague wouldn't be complete without a foray into the captivating history of ballet here! And Prague, it seems, has a rich and fascinating ballet legacy! So, I trekked through the historical labyrinthine streets to visit the magical, little Prague Ballet Museum!

Inside, amidst the fascinating displays, I discovered a wealth of stories and captivating artifacts that painted a vivid picture of the ballet's past. From ancient manuscripts documenting ballet techniques to beautiful costumes worn by iconic dancers, every exhibit revealed a captivating layer of Prague's ballet history. This museum, in my opinion, was the perfect place to lose yourself in the stories and the passion behind the enchanting world of ballet. I highly recommend a visit, even if you are just a casual ballet lover like me!

Ballet Boutique Bonanza!

But you know me, my dear readers, I'm never too far from a shop! My latest sartorial discovery? The fabulous little boutique in the heart of Prague called "The Tutu Atelier!" They carry everything you could imagine: sparkling ballet shoes, feather boas that would make the Moulin Rouge green with envy, sequined tutus, and dazzling ballet costumes - you name it, they have it! The place was a veritable paradise for a ballet aficionado like me! Of course, I had to purchase a new pink feather boa, didn’t I?

Now, this feather boa, my loves, is more than just an accessory, it is a statement. Think flamboyant, vibrant, bursting with life, it is truly pinktastic! I picture myself swirling, pirouetting, dancing along the banks of the Vltava with the setting sun reflecting off this bright, glorious pink.

After a busy day filled with ballet, shopping and history, Prague offered a beautiful sunset. I decided to stroll along the Vltava river with my new pink boa swishing behind me, reflecting the warm sunset colors. I even stopped by a local baker for some delicious trdelnĂk - the warm cinnamon goodness was the perfect ending to the perfect day.

As the last golden hues faded away, and the moon painted its silver across the Vltava River, I knew I had found another magical piece of the pink tutu world - a city where beauty, history, and dreams intertwine seamlessly!

Until next week, darlings!

Stay tuned for next Wednesday’s post when I reveal a new pink tutu discovery in Prague – trust me, it’s pinktastic!
