Prague: A Pink Tutu Pilgrimage - Post #837

Hello darlings!

It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Prague post! I'm so excited to share this week's adventures with you all. This time, I'm going to take you on a little journey into the heart of Prague, exploring not only its beautiful architecture and cobbled streets, but also the captivating world of ballet and, of course, those divine tutus!

Remember last week's post about travelling to Prague? Well, darling, I finally arrived in this charming city! I opted for the scenic train journey from Dresden, admiring the countryside from my window seat, imagining myself twirling through the fields in a floaty, pink tulle skirt. I've always said, a train journey is the best way to soak up the atmosphere of a new place, and this was no exception.

Upon arriving at Prague's Hauptbahnhof, I was swept away by the charm of this city! The vibrant, colourful buildings with their intricate architecture had me positively swooning! I practically floated through the streets to my charming hotel – imagine a cosy little townhouse tucked away on a quiet, cobbled street. They even had a fluffy pink bathrobe! I can't tell you how much I love it! I do think a bit of pink is the perfect touch for any room, don't you?

Now, onto the main event, the reason for this Pink Tutu Prague adventure – the ballet! And, oh my, it was a dream come true! My darling readers, you know I have a deep passion for ballet, both classic and contemporary, and the ballet programme at Prague's National Theatre was quite simply phenomenal.

I opted for an enchanting evening at the stunning National Theatre. Its architecture is a true work of art! This majestic building, built in 1881 on the bank of the Vltava river, oozed charm and grandeur. Its exterior, adorned with intricate statues, is as breathtaking as its history, a story steeped in passion and artistic ambition. I couldn't resist snapping a photo or two (after all, how else could I show off my pink tulle skirt in front of such architectural brilliance?)

And then, the moment I'd been waiting for, the curtains opened and the performance began! The show I saw was called “The Nutcracker.” Oh, how I do love this ballet. Its charming story, stunning choreography, and hauntingly beautiful music transport me to a magical realm. The ballerina portraying the Sugar Plum Fairy was a vision of grace and artistry.

You know, I have a secret weakness for those exquisitely-crafted tutus, the epitome of fairytale magic. It’s all about those layers and layers of tulle, swirling around with such lightness and grace. I could practically feel the soft tulle tickling my skin as I watched! The Nutcracker's tutus were breathtaking. Each tutu, whether on the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Dew Drop Fairy, or the graceful Spanish dancers, was a little piece of art, an embodiment of femininity and whimsical fantasy.

But my ballet adventures in Prague didn't stop at the National Theatre. The city itself is abuzz with dance, with captivating street performers showcasing their talent in public squares. You've heard of the “ballet shoes”, well Prague definitely gave me a few twirls! I must admit, I even took a class at one of the city's most famous dance schools – it's been years since I last twirled in the studio! Let's just say, it was definitely more of a graceful twirl than a technically perfect pirouette!

Oh, but it wouldn't be a true Pink Tutu adventure without some fashion! This city, my dears, is a shopaholic's paradise. From the charming boutiques along the Charles Bridge to the stylish boutiques around the Old Town Square, every street corner seemed to beckon me with a delightful, fashion-filled opportunity! My bag now boasts some delightful finds! A lovely hand-painted, pink silk scarf that perfectly complements my pink ballerina flats (those pink toes!), a beautiful silver pendant that's the perfect reminder of my magical Prague visit, and of course, an exquisitely crafted pink satin purse! I couldn't resist it, it even has little ballerinas on it! I love that I can carry a little bit of ballet with me wherever I go!

The highlight of my shopping adventures was a visit to a charming little boutique. Imagine a treasure trove of vintage clothes and accessories nestled in a beautifully renovated attic, with gorgeous exposed beams and sunlight streaming in through the large windows. I came out with a delightful vintage dress in the most beautiful shade of pink. It’s the perfect fit for all my romantic strolls through the cobbled streets! It even has lace!

Now, let's talk about the delicious food I've been indulging in. Oh, darling, I've already discovered some amazing pastry shops in Prague, hidden gems serving the most divine, melt-in-your-mouth treats. The cafes offer incredible pastries and warm, cinnamon-laced cakes that leave you craving for more! It is a bit hard to work up an appetite though with so many ballet classes!

Of course, I've indulged in Prague’s iconic goulash (served in a fluffy bread bowl!), devoured heavenly Czech dumplings (they even come in pink!), and explored the wonders of local breweries, trying different beers with my newfound friend, the local beer sommelier. You can tell I'm embracing the true Czech spirit!

Prague has a charm that you just have to experience. Every corner, every street, holds its own story waiting to be unveiled, from the ancient, cobbled streets to the vibrant, youthful atmosphere that courses through its heart. I find it particularly enchanting at night, the cityscape glittering under the moonlit sky, with an array of pastel pink, and purple lights emanating from the medieval towers, creating a breathtaking and whimsical panorama. The magic, my dear friends, is simply captivating!

But my Pink Tutu pilgrimage wouldn’t be complete without mentioning one more thing. One of the most charming ways to truly soak in the ambiance of Prague is by exploring it on a beautiful white horse carriage. Imagine me, sitting majestically in a vintage carriage with an ornate golden trim, adorned in my most flamboyant pink tulle dress, gently swaying with the rhythm of the carriage wheels as I admire the city passing by. Yes, this is truly the ultimate experience!

The streets of Prague were my stage, where I was a graceful ballerina gliding through the streets, spreading pink joy with my vibrant attire! A little touch of pink here, a little sparkle there. I even surprised a couple at the Old Town Square by joining them in a twirl.

You know, my darling readers, I truly believe that life should be an extraordinary journey of pink, of joy, of graceful twirls and joyful embraces. Every day should be an opportunity to embrace our inner ballerina, our own unique beauty. I think my journey to Prague has definitely made that vision even more tangible, and even inspired me to give everyone a pink tutu. Let’s paint the world pink, together!

Until next Wednesday, stay pink and beautiful!

Love,

Emma
