Pink Tutu Prague: A Whirlwind of Colour and Culture! #847

Dearest tutu-lovers!

Another Wednesday, another blog post - and this time, I'm writing to you straight from the magical city of Prague! My journey here has been one of pure joy, from the moment I boarded the train at Derby station, my suitcase bursting with pink frocks and a symphony of tulle under my arm. You can always trust me to bring a touch of pink wherever I go, and Prague has been an absolute dream for my colour palette!

Pink and Prague: A Match Made in Heaven

It's true what they say: Prague is truly a city for all seasons, even summer. The cobblestone streets shimmered in the golden afternoon sunlight, casting a warm glow over the stunning architecture and those charming, pastel-hued buildings that make Prague such a visual feast. Speaking of colour, let me tell you, the colours of Prague absolutely blew me away! There's a whimsical sense of playfulness to the colours here, so you'll find pops of lavender and sunshine yellow, deep emerald green and cherry reds interspersed with terracotta roof tiles and cobblestone pavements. But of course, nothing is quite as divine as a splash of pink - those blush-coloured flowers in the window boxes, those dusky pink teahouses, those salmon-toned pastries, it's a truly heavenly scene!

Pink Power on the Rails

Now, before I whisk you off to the magical world of Prague ballet, let me tell you about the most glorious leg of my journey: my train ride! It was pure enchantment from the moment the sleek, silver train pulled out of the station, its wheels whistling a merry tune as we left Derbyshire behind. The rolling English countryside transformed into a blur of green, like a watercolor painting come to life, as we journeyed across the Channel and on towards the heart of Europe. I had the most incredible compartment: plush velvet seats, warm lighting, and the sweet aroma of fresh linen, which was the perfect backdrop for my latest embroidery project - a pink ballerina stitching a new pink tutu, of course!

A Glimpse into a City's Soul

After my train adventure, Prague greeted me with open arms. It's such a unique blend of historical charm and modern bustle. It's hard not to be mesmerized by the beauty of the city: from the majestic Charles Bridge, adorned with sculptures of saints and stories of centuries past, to the Old Town Square, its heart pulsing with life and music, the very air seemed to hum with energy and excitement! It's easy to get lost in the magic of Prague's charming cobblestone streets, lined with boutique shops brimming with unique trinkets, artisan cafes, and galleries displaying the works of talented artists. But as much as I enjoyed exploring, my real purpose for being here was the highlight of my week, the show that had me travelling halfway across Europe, the event that was going to make Prague a real ballerina’s paradise: the Prague Ballet.

A Waltz into the World of Prague Ballet

My heart was thumping with excitement when I finally found myself inside the gorgeous, chandelier-lit National Theatre. Oh, how I love a beautiful theatre! The atmosphere was so electric, everyone buzzed with anticipation as the lights dimmed, the orchestra began to play, and the stage was transformed into a kaleidoscope of colour. This week's show was Swan Lake, and oh, my goodness! It was everything I dreamed of.

The dancing was nothing short of divine! It was a powerful, poetic dance with exquisite grace, a timeless masterpiece of movement. I was so taken with the sheer power and artistry, the soaring leaps, the expressive flourishes of the dancers - the elegance of it all. And of course, the ballerina was wearing a tutu that would make any dancer envious, a breathtaking white, feathered confection, an embodiment of grace, elegance and ethereal beauty. Of course, I just had to have something similar - and I managed to score an amazing tutu, with a gorgeous white silk skirt and hand-stitched satin ribbons in a soft shade of blush pink, from the lovely boutique next to the theatre. I simply can't wait to give it a whirl in my next ballet class!

Dancing, Dining and Pink Parades

Oh, but the fun didn’t stop with the ballet. I also had the absolute pleasure of discovering a wonderful ballet street performance near the Old Town Square, where local dancers dressed in exquisite, handmade costumes performed excerpts from famous ballets. I just loved their passionate commitment to the art and their energy that spread through the crowd, inviting everyone to join in. It's truly inspiring to see the way people here appreciate art and expression in all its forms.

Of course, no trip to Prague is complete without enjoying some delectable treats! I confess, I'm hopelessly addicted to their famous "Trdelnik" pastries, a sort of chimney cake covered in cinnamon sugar. With my own pink sugar sprinkled on top, they are the perfect Parisian-inspired dessert for my pink palate, wouldn't you say?

The Pink Tutu Pilgrimage Continues

So, my journey in Prague is winding down, but I'm already starting to plan my next adventure! The Pink Tutu Pilgrimage is a lifelong journey - after all, it's not just about dancing in pink tutus, but about embracing joy, sharing your passions, and bringing a little bit of pink magic to every corner of the world! I just know that you're all going to love the next stop on this Pink Tutu adventure - because next week I'll be writing to you from one of the most stylish, glamorous, and ballet-mad cities in the world - Paris!

Don’t forget to check back here next Wednesday for a fabulous glimpse into my Parisian escapade! And if you are inspired to start a pink tutu adventure of your own, don't be shy - join the Pink Tutu revolution! Spread the pink, wear it proudly, and dance with joy, you gorgeous tutu-lovers!

Until next time, Emma x
