Prague: Tutu-licious Travels, Post #873

Hello my darling dears! Emma here, your resident pink tutu-wearing travel enthusiast, ready to whisk you away to the enchanting city of Prague! As you all know, I’m currently on my grand European adventure, funded entirely by the power of my pirouettes and the unwavering love I have for the art of ballet. (You can read all about my past escapades in my earlier blog posts, starting right here on www.pink-tutu.com - there’s plenty of pink tutus, fabulous performances, and of course, tons of fashion tips to inspire your own travels!)

Today’s date is Wednesday, 18th of January, 2012 and we're embarking on a ballet-filled exploration of the Czech Republic’s magical capital. As usual, my pink tutu is firmly in place, adding a splash of colour to the historic cobbled streets. I've got my trusty pink travel bag, packed with an abundance of dazzling outfits, each more fabulous than the last (more on that later!).

Speaking of Prague, the sheer romance and beauty of this city practically sings with graceful, ballerina-esque elegance! The iconic Charles Bridge, with its Gothic architecture and vibrant street performers, evokes a feeling of fairytale magic. The Old Town Square, with its clock tower and charming buildings, makes me want to twirl and twirl!

Speaking of twirling, it wouldn't be a true pink tutu adventure without a visit to the National Theatre. This majestic building, steeped in ballet history, is an absolute must-see for any dance lover. Tonight, I'm excited to see a performance of “The Nutcracker,” and I'm certain it's going to be absolutely breathtaking! The iconic score, the dazzling costumes, and the heartwarming story – it's truly the perfect blend of art and enchantment.

Before we dive into the show, let's talk fashion! You see, when exploring Prague (or any other destination!), dressing the part is crucial! Think historical charm with a touch of modern whimsy. You've got to create a look that allows you to embrace the city's elegance while still maintaining your own unique style.

For this particular trip, I've gone for a colour palette inspired by the Prague skyline, embracing soft pinks, elegant creams, and accents of deep sapphire. Of course, I couldn't leave my darling pink tutu behind, and let me tell you, it's a real head-turner against the historic backdrop! Imagine the cutest ballet tutu with tulle that flows like the most beautiful cobwebs, layered with a vintage pink sweater for that Parisian-chic vibe, paired with my go-to white knee-high boots – think stylish and comfy all at once! You're getting an outfit that's as magical as the city itself.

Don't forget a splash of bold colour for a dash of whimsy! Maybe a little pink scarf tied to my handbag, or even a cute pair of earrings – this way, your own unique style is perfectly showcased amidst the Prague charm!

Speaking of charming, I couldn’t resist indulging in some fabulous Prague shopping today! It’s all about the delightful boutiques nestled away on those cobbled streets – they're a haven of unique trinkets and local treasures. The charm of independent shops with their creative spirits never fails to ignite my shopping passion, particularly in a city as charming as Prague. I was thrilled to stumble across a store full of stunning handcrafted ceramic ballet shoes! A ballerina like myself can’t resist! I’ve purchased two pairs, of course – one for my bedroom and another to keep my collection complete. I might even frame them, maybe with some gorgeous dried flowers from a quaint flower shop – those flowers and colours always make me feel so inspired!

Oh, and let’s not forget about those adorable cafes scattered around! Every single corner in Prague hides a hidden treasure! From traditional coffee houses steeped in old-world charm, to trendy coffee shops bursting with vibrant artistic life, Prague's cafe culture is a joy to behold! The warm, inviting atmosphere is simply delightful, and I’m so looking forward to enjoying a hot chocolate later this afternoon, with a view of the Charles Bridge - picture this, the cutest little pink tutu, with its delicate details and gorgeous pink satin ribbons, twirling gently in the warm sunlight as I sip my decadent drink. I can almost hear the sweet music of the street performers – absolutely magical!

And don’t forget the local delicacies! My dear Mum would be thrilled to know I'm embracing the authentic Prague flavors – yes, even the pastries! Let's be honest, every little treat is an excuse to twirl just a bit longer, especially after all those delightful purchases at the little antique shops! Oh, the beauty! There's nothing quite like indulging in the art of graceful movement and elegant outfits.

So, stay tuned, my dearest pink-tutu-loving followers! This is just the beginning of our Prague adventure! Be sure to check back next week, when I'll share all about the enchanting performance of "The Nutcracker," and more tips on how to embrace your inner ballerina in Prague (including what I discovered about ballet shoes – that story deserves its own post!). Until next time, may your steps be light, your twirls be graceful, and your style be undeniably pink!

Bisous,

Emma

Oh, one more thing before I forget! If you’re looking for a truly magical and unforgettable way to reach Prague, let me tell you about my secret weapon: a magnificent journey on the train! A timeless experience, you can say, and for any lover of elegant movement and beautiful things – it's an absolute must!

Remember, we’re talking about those plush carriages, gliding past countryside landscapes bathed in golden light. It’s truly a scene straight out of a ballerina's fairytale dream, complete with the gentle rocking of the train as you journey along with a dreamy soundtrack of the clattering tracks and wind whistling past the windows. It's the most enchanting way to reach any destination, in my opinion, perfect for getting into the mood for a ballet show, for sparking a flurry of artistic inspiration. I highly recommend it, as it sets the stage for an adventure that will never cease to fascinate, just like dancing.

P.S. I just realized I left my pink tutu-themed book of ballet poems in the backseat of a vintage yellow cab on my journey from the train station to the hotel! Don’t worry, I managed to get it back – I know it might not seem important but to me, my trusty collection of romantic ballet poems is worth its weight in gold.

Perhaps one day I will share the secret to getting your poems back. The important thing is to never give up! I believe in magic and love – it might just help you find your very own magical journey!
