Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballet Dream Come True! (Blog Post #899)
Hello my dearest Tutu-Lovers! It's Emma here, and I'm absolutely thrilled to be back with you all this week, sharing another adventure from the wonderful world of dance. Today, I'm writing to you from the heart of Prague, a city that's as beautiful and enchanting as a ballet itself. I know you've been waiting patiently for my Prague updates – and let me tell you, I've got a real treat in store for you!
Travel by Pony and Train (a True Story!)
The journey here was absolutely magical. After weeks of preparation, I bid farewell to my darling Derbyshire, boarding a train with my beloved pink suitcase filled to the brim with my favourite tulle masterpieces. Now, you might be wondering, how does a pink tutu-wearing ballerina get around? Well, let me tell you, I'm a girl of many talents! To reach the railway station, I opted for a slightly unconventional, but charming, mode of transport – pony. Yes, you heard that right! I saddled up and rode alongside the River Derwent, soaking up the countryside scenery. It was absolutely divine, and the locals were charmed by my pink tutu riding through the lanes!
Pink Prague: A City Fit for a Princess
From the moment I arrived in Prague, I was captivated by its beauty. Cobblestone streets lined with charming cafes, colourful buildings that practically sing with history, and a vibrant energy that simply enthrals you. Prague is a city that radiates romanticism and elegance – and what's more, the locals are as welcoming as can be! My charming Airbnb flat is practically bursting with colour and personality, with views of the Prague Castle and the Vltava River. The perfect setting for a dancer! And don't even get me started on the pink floral decorations I found at a local market - oh, my tutu dreams are truly coming true!
A Ballet Journey Through Time
This trip is all about immersing myself in Prague's rich cultural history, and I knew that wouldn't be complete without a ballet experience. And what an experience it is! The programme at the National Theatre of Prague tonight includes "La Bayadère" - one of my favourite ballets!
Why La Bayadère is my All-Time Favourite Ballet
You know how much I adore a classic story, and "La Bayadère" is pure drama! The tale of a beautiful temple dancer, the tragic love between a warrior and a goddess, and the captivating choreography that weaves its way through the stages of longing, jealousy, and ultimately, sacrifice. The elaborate costumes and magnificent sets transport you right to the heart of India, a place I dream of visiting. But more than anything, I just adore the ethereal, elegant, and dramatic style of "La Bayadère" – the kind of choreography that truly lets the ballerina shine!
Pink Tutus at the Theatre!
Naturally, I couldn't let the chance to see this beautiful ballet go by without a dash of my signature style! My "La Bayadère" inspired look combines the rich colours of the set design with the flowy elegance of a traditional tutu, finished off with my signature sparkling pink bow.

Pink Fashion and the Magical Touch of Prague:
The streets of Prague are simply bursting with creativity and style. Today I discovered the most incredible boutique in the Old Town. Their windows are a masterpiece of pink and gold! Inside, it's like stepping into a magical fairy tale. I snagged some gorgeous blush-coloured floral accessories and a vintage pink hat with an enormous flower. It's the perfect outfit for a night at the theatre, wouldn't you say?

A Deliciously Pink Gastronomic Adventure
No travel blog would be complete without a food report! Prague's cuisine is absolutely enchanting. From traditional Czech dumplings to succulent roast meats, it's a symphony of deliciousness! But of course, no meal would be complete without a splash of pink.
This morning I indulged in the most incredible "pink strawberry and rose" crepe from a charming little bakery called "Prague Delights." They were also making "Pink Champagne cupcakes" which I can't wait to indulge in tonight after the show! (Perhaps in my tutu-wearing finery... )

The Ballet's Power to Connect
What makes my pink tutu journey even more extraordinary is the incredible community I find wherever I go. Fellow tutu-lovers, dance enthusiasts, and even curious onlookers stop me on the street to chat about my outfit and the ballet. Every time it happens, I'm reminded of the magic of ballet, its power to connect us, spark joy, and inspire our dreams. And my favourite part is when children's eyes light up as they see a real life ballerina twirling down the street!
