Pink Tutu Prague - Post #898: Dancing Through The City of A Hundred Spires!
Hello darlings, and welcome back to Pink Tutu Prague! This week, I'm bursting with excitement, because my little pink-tutu-clad heart is completely and utterly smitten with this beautiful city. It's like a fairytale come to life! And I've got SO much to tell you about, so let's dive right in!
Firstly, you guys, Prague is utterly dreamy! Every corner holds a story, and every building whispers with history. The architecture here is just beyond gorgeous, all those spires and towers reaching for the heavens! The cobblestone streets, the little bridges, the vibrant cafe culture... it's enough to make any girl want to skip around in a pink tutu all day! And of course, as a pink tutu aficionado, I simply had to twirl on the famous Charles Bridge - a moment of pure magic that will forever be etched in my memories!
Now, I arrived in Prague last Friday, hopping off a delightful train ride from Vienna (which I'll be telling you all about in next week's post - prepare yourselves for some serious train travel inspo!). The journey itself was a pleasure. I always enjoy soaking up the views, catching up on my latest magazine reads, and, of course, enjoying a lovely spot of tea and biscuits (because let's face it, travelling isn't really travelling unless there's cake!).
Once I arrived at Prague's charming main station, I was immediately captivated by the city's unique energy. It's both bustling and peaceful at the same time, and the air smells delicious (probably thanks to all the yummy Czech cuisine, which, let me tell you, I'm tackling with gusto!). After checking into my sweet little hotel (think plush velvet curtains, fluffy pink bathrobes, and vintage mirrors – absolute heaven!), I embarked on my first pink-tutu-tastic exploration!
First stop - a gorgeous little vintage clothing store nestled down a side street (you know, the kind you'd stumble across by chance in a dream). Inside, I was greeted with racks upon racks of glorious dresses, jackets, and hats - all just begging to be twirled in! I found myself a beautiful, blush pink, lace dress, perfect for strolling the cobbled streets, sipping coffee in charming cafes, and, of course, getting some stunning photos for Instagram!
Speaking of which, I have to share my amazing Prague Insta pics with you! It seems like every corner is a perfect backdrop for a beautiful photo. The old-world charm, the enchanting colours, the playful details… it all creates the most incredible atmosphere! Oh, and you just have to check out the photo of me twirling on Charles Bridge - my pink tutu, against the backdrop of the iconic Prague skyline, looked absolutely stunning!
But darling, it wouldn't be a proper Pink Tutu Prague blog post without a mention of all things ballet, wouldn't it?! My love for the art of dance truly shines in this beautiful city, a city that, like me, embraces all things graceful and beautiful. This week, I've been absolutely spoilt for choice with incredible performances and a ballet class that left me feeling utterly inspired and completely energised.
Tuesday night, I attended a breathtaking performance by the Prague National Theatre Ballet at the stunning Estates Theatre (such beautiful acoustics!). I’m absolutely smitten with this gorgeous venue – it's truly a masterpiece of theatre architecture. This time, they put on a production of “The Nutcracker,” and it was a real treat to see a classic story presented with such fresh interpretation. The costumes were gorgeous (particularly the ballerina’s, she was dressed in a blush-coloured tulle tutu that was a vision in elegance!), and the dancers were truly exceptional. I particularly enjoyed the waltz scene, with its beautifully-choreographed steps and the soaring, classical melodies - I truly felt as though I’d been transported to a different world, all while gracefully nestled within my own pink-tutu world!
Of course, no ballet-loving trip is complete without a visit to a ballet class! So, I spent the following day perfecting my pirouettes at a delightful studio called "Tančíme s Radostí" (which, funnily enough, means "Dancing with Joy” in Czech!). It’s clear that ballet is ingrained within this city’s culture, and, oh my goodness, I simply loved getting my dance on here. The teacher was lovely, so patient, and I felt completely welcome in the welcoming and beautiful space.
Even if I say so myself, my performance wasn’t bad at all! (I'll let you be the judge - **be sure to check out my Instagram post where I'm twirling in front of a cute Prague café with the Czech national colours – it’s all quite adorable!).
This weekend, I plan to get my historical ballet fix, with a trip to the National Theatre. The impressive structure stands grandly on the bank of the Vltava River and it boasts a fantastic permanent exhibit all about the history of Czech ballet – you know I’m completely hooked on the history of this fascinating artform! I've been eager to explore this incredible museum for weeks now, and it feels so good to finally be fulfilling my artistic aspirations!
Oh, and for all you fellow pink tutu-wearing fashionistas, I can't forget about the amazing shops I've discovered in Prague! There's a real vintage vibe here, and you're bound to find some unique gems. I've been especially charmed by the colourful fabrics and the unique, hand-crafted accessories - a complete treasure trove for the bohemian soul, just waiting to be discovered! And naturally, I had to snag some lovely little pink trinkets for my Pink Tutu Prague collection (they’re always a great reminder of all my fun travels!),
Now, my adventures in Prague are far from over – next on the agenda: a day exploring the enchanting fairytale village of Český Krumlov, with its winding cobbled streets, colourful buildings, and charming cafés (yes, more coffee!), followed by a pony ride through the countryside, of course, where I’ll wear a pink-tutu riding ensemble – it’s a complete necessity.
And, my lovely ladies, as always, you just know that my journey will be packed with even more amazing ballet adventures (perhaps another captivating performance in a stunning theatre or even another magical ballet class to bring me back down to earth). And let me assure you – all this excitement, this city's beauty, all the dancing, and all this exquisite food are absolutely calling out for some beautiful Instagram-worthy snaps, so be sure to stay tuned for some extra fun from this extraordinary place!
So, as we prepare to venture further into the magic that is Prague, be sure to share your favourite pink-tutu moments with me in the comments section below – because you just know that I want to see all the dazzling ways you’re showing your love for the pink-tutu world!
And until next time, darling, stay bright, stay sassy, and of course… keep on twirling!
Yours in pink tutus, Emma
