Prague Perfection: A Pink Tutu Dream Come True! #901
Hello lovelies! It’s Wednesday and time for another Pink Tutu Prague adventure! As the sun begins to set on a beautiful summer’s day here in Prague, I’m sitting in my hotel room with a steaming cup of herbal tea and a heart full of happy sighs. What an incredible week it’s been, filled with twirls, tutus and that all-consuming joy of being surrounded by beautiful things.
Let me tell you, my darling tutu enthusiasts, Prague has been a dream! I arrived earlier this week by train (a rather luxurious affair, with plush seats, views of rolling hills and even a fellow passenger who mistook me for a fairytale princess – I couldn't help but feel a little smug when she complimented my tutu!) and was whisked away to a beautiful little boutique hotel with a terrace overlooking the city.
And Prague itself? It’s truly captivating – cobblestone streets, fairytale architecture, and a sense of history that feels like magic. But it wasn't just the sights that stole my heart – I've been absolutely delighted with the people! Everyone’s been so friendly and welcoming. The locals seem to appreciate the elegance and joy of tutus, which warms my very core. Even the shopkeepers seemed genuinely excited when I wore my brand new pink tutu while browsing for souvenirs – they were practically tripping over themselves to assist me!
Tutu Tidbits:
Of course, no trip to Prague would be complete without a deep dive into its ballet scene, and I'm happy to say, my lovelies, that Prague has delivered in spades! Let’s rewind a little to last Saturday, shall we? I ventured into the beautiful Municipal House in Prague’s old town. I'd heard whispered tales of its breathtaking beauty and its stunning acoustics, but nothing could prepare me for the sheer opulence. Every inch of the place exudes a certain kind of fairytale elegance, and as I found my seat in the opulent theatre, my heart filled with excited anticipation.
This Saturday night saw the National Theatre perform Giselle! I just couldn’t resist a show with such a storied history. For the uninitiated, Giselle tells the classic tale of a young village girl, whose heart is stolen by a prince in disguise, a heartbreaking ballet full of grace, pathos and – you guessed it – lots of gorgeous tutus! The performance was, well, pure magic! The dancers, exquisite in their delicate tutus, moved with such incredible grace and passion. It was like watching a story unfold before my eyes, captivating my attention, my emotions and my soul.
Fashion Flair:
Before the show, I couldn't resist popping into a delightful little boutique called 'Boulevard'. They have an absolutely incredible collection of vintage clothes and accessories, including – drumroll please – a treasure trove of beautiful tutus! I couldn’t leave without buying a new blush-pink tutu to add to my collection! This one is slightly shorter than my usual style, making it perfect for twirling through the city’s winding alleyways. It's definitely the most beautiful tutu I own. Oh, the power of pink and tulle! I feel so glamorous, it's absurd.
But before I give you all the deets of the show and the tutu splendour, I have to share some news! My darling, I’m completely thrilled to announce that the Prague Pony School is opening classes for beginners and experienced riders alike! I mean, what could be more perfect than combining a ballet-inspired life with a majestic pony? It’s an absolutely perfect way to combine two of my favourite things, and trust me, my lovelies, there's a tutu that works for every riding occasion! I'll be booking myself in for a class soon. It feels like my inner child has met the ultimate pony fantasy!
Tutus Take Prague!
You know I just couldn't let this perfect opportunity slip by without spreading the Tutu Gospel! And let me tell you, Prague is totally embracing the Pink Tutu Power! After seeing Giselle on Saturday, I started a social media campaign, 'Pink Tutus for Prague', and it was an absolute success! There were tutu-wearing street performers, a couple in matching tutus who were having their photos taken in front of the Charles Bridge, and even a little girl who insisted on twirling in her tutu for an impromptu performance outside the National Theatre!
Even my hotel bought into the whole Tutu-mania. I arrived back from a rather strenuous afternoon exploring the Charles Bridge in a rather delightful new pink tutu, the shopkeeper at the hotel lobby just stared at me in shock before breaking out into a giant smile. "We haven’t seen so much pink around here, in years," he whispered, "and by all means, take the whole shelf!"
But honestly, my lovelies, there are too many incredible sights to mention, every corner seems to hold a new wonder. From the intricate details on the architecture to the delicious aromas that float from cafes and bakeries, Prague truly does offer something for everyone, even a Pink Tutu-loving ballerina like myself!
Pink Tutu Itinerary:
Oh, and my lovelies, if you find yourself in Prague soon, here are a few Pink Tutu-approved tips from my heart to yours!
Prague’s Astronomical Clock: A monumental piece of architectural beauty. It's been in operation since 1410 and its chimes have echoed through the centuries! Imagine a performance that lasts centuries – talk about being on your game! I can’t help but think of all the wonderful tutus that must have been admired under that clock face over the centuries.
St. Vitus Cathedral: Prague’s crown jewel in all its medieval glory. This is the final resting place of several Czech kings and emperors, but the real beauty lies in its magnificent stained-glass windows and stunning architecture!
John Lennon Wall: This vibrant wall in Prague’s Old Town is a place where peace and hope reign supreme! This wall serves as a testament to John Lennon's enduring legacy of love and harmony, a powerful message for all of us, tutu-wearers and non-tutu wearers alike!
A Stroll through Old Town Square: This historic square, the centre of the Prague world! The streets come alive at night with the magical sounds of musicians and a festive atmosphere that will truly captivate you! I almost got swept up in a spontaneous waltz here! I had my beautiful tutu ready! Just try to contain the twirling urge when surrounded by this city's energetic buzz, and you’ll know you’ve truly found a part of your heart in Prague.
And that’s all from Prague, lovelies! The Pink Tutu Prague dream continues as I discover more of this enchanting city. Stay tuned for next week’s update where I'll share some Prague ballet secrets, an amazing vintage tutu discovery, and, oh, maybe a photo shoot with a few lovely ponies! Until then, keep your tutus ready for a twirl and enjoy all that life has to offer!
Lots of love and tutus,
Emma
