Pink Tutu Prague: Where Dreams Dance with Cobblestones (Post 906)
Bonjour mes amies! It's Emma here, bringing you another whirl through the world of pink tutus, from the cobbled streets of Prague, a city that's stolen my heart like a graceful pirouette. This is my 906th blog post - a journey that started way back in Derbyshire, with a love for dance and a love for pink. And here I am, fulfilling my lifelong dream of sharing that passion with the world, one sparkling tutu at a time.
This week, Prague is the setting for our ballet escapade. The air here is alive with history, romance, and a certain kind of magical energy. You know the kind I mean: the sort that makes you want to twirl in a fluffy pink tutu on a cobbled street, even if you're a little unsure of what time period it's supposed to be from. (Don't worry, darling, I'm all for embracing sartorial mishaps - life's too short for matching.)
But back to the city at hand. Prague is truly breathtaking. Its architecture, like the cascading ruffles of a grand tutu, leaves me breathless with its beauty. Imagine spires reaching towards the sky like outstretched arms, ancient churches draped in stories, and bridges whispering tales of emperors and lovers. You practically trip over history here.
And talking of history, did you know Prague boasts a long and glorious tradition of ballet? From the magnificent National Theatre to the intimate stages of smaller venues, the city pulsates with the rhythm of dance. I mean, can you imagine dancing to the waltzing strings of Mozart's Prague symphony in this magnificent setting? Honestly, I could stay here forever.
This Wednesday, 5th September, Prague was overflowing with ballet magic. I was lucky enough to catch a performance by the Prague Ballet at the National Theatre - and it was everything I ever dreamed of, a captivating whirl of colour, talent and storytelling. They moved with such grace, with a tenderness that made my heart skip a beat. But honestly, I had the most enchanting evening even before I entered the theatre, twirling and swirling in a fuchsia tutu amidst the city's fairy-tale streets.
Oh, my sweet friends! There is truly something for everyone in this enchanting city, a real feast for the senses. I found myself at the charming Old Town Square, with its beautiful clocktower - such an elegant showstopper, a little bit like a vintage ballet tutu. It was as if time itself stopped to witness the incredible clock's performance!
And I can't even start to describe the shopping. My bank manager may be wringing his hands, but Prague's markets and boutiques have simply stolen my heart, like a captivating dancer in a shimmering tutu. You could find some real treasures here! Imagine delicately crafted, intricate lace and the perfect ballet slipper shops – a tutu lover’s paradise. Honestly, I could get lost in this enchanting maze of stalls and shops, which offer everything from antique costume jewellery, which just cries out for a dramatic pink tutu to complete the look, to bohemian, embroidered dresses begging for an elaborate pink tutu companion.
Oh! And if you happen to be looking for some of the best, handcrafted, high quality pink tutus in Europe (it happens to me all the time) you must pop into one particular shop tucked away in the charming old quarter. It's like stepping back into the era of romantic tutus, with vintage tulle bursting out of every corner, every colour and length of tulle imagined. Honestly, it's like a symphony of feathers and ribbons and I'm dying to share the secret location with all of you but sadly I promised the owner I would keep it our little secret.
Of course, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the wonderful food and atmosphere. Imagine quaint cafés tucked away down narrow alleys, cafes overflowing with locals, serving up steaming cups of cappuccino and Viennese pastries that are truly fit for a queen, oh sorry I mean ballerina.
Speaking of queens and ballerinas, what I adore about this city is its passion for both tradition and creativity, a beautiful combination like a classic ballerina tutu with a twist. Just a touch of whimsy mixed with sophistication – this is the heart of Prague. It's an endless source of inspiration, which, you may already have guessed, is absolutely fantastic for sparking up a fashion frenzy. I dare say that pink tutu dreams are coming true in the enchanting cobblestone streets of Prague.
But all good things must come to an end - or in my case, when my train leaves. Now, I have a penchant for traveling by train – especially vintage carriages, just like in a bygone era! There’s something about the leisurely rhythm of watching the landscape glide by that is truly perfect. So I bid you a fond "Adieu!" for now. Until next Wednesday, I shall leave you with a little bit of pink-tutu-fuelled inspiration for your week. And, my sweet friends, never, ever, stop dancing to the beat of your own drum, or twirling in a pink tutu, no matter the location!
See you on the pink-tutu-express, Wednesday, September 12th!
