Pink Tutu Prague: Ballet, Bling & Beautiful Prague, Post 910!

Hello my darling dears!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another installment of my Pink Tutu Prague blog! 🩰💖

This week, I'm bringing you all the delightful delights of my trip to the magical city of Prague! From stunning architecture to charming cobbled streets, the city feels like a fairytale come to life, and I couldn't wait to explore it in all my pink tutu glory.

Let's Talk Trains

I travelled here by train, naturally, and the journey was simply divine. Nothing beats a train ride through picturesque landscapes with a cup of tea in hand. Plus, it gave me a chance to people-watch and enjoy all the amazing fashion trends whizzing past my window. I swear I saw a woman in a truly fabulous feathered hat! 👒

Speaking of fashion, my dear readers, I knew I had to make a statement in Prague. So I packed my trusty pink tutu, naturally, but also a whole trunk full of vibrant dresses and delicate cardigans. Let's face it, Prague screams 'vintage elegance', and I couldn't let this opportunity slip away!

Pink Tutu Adventures: Prague Ballet, Theatre & History

Upon my arrival in Prague, the first thing on my agenda was a visit to the National Theatre, a breathtaking architectural gem overlooking the Vltava River. I spent the afternoon immersing myself in Czech history and admiring the neo-renaissance grandeur of the building. The building's story is just as fascinating as its architecture - built in 1881, this landmark almost didn't survive, but luckily was saved after it burnt down during a massive fire before even being officially opened.

After a day of sightseeing, I indulged in a spot of shopping, of course! Prague has so many beautiful boutiques and vintage shops brimming with exquisite treasures. I managed to snag a beautiful blush-pink shawl adorned with delicate floral lace, a perfect complement to my ever-reliable pink tutu.

Later that evening, I was treated to a performance at the National Theatre Ballet, a company renowned for its technical brilliance and graceful movements. They put on a truly exquisite performance, their intricate steps and emotional expressiveness leaving me in awe. As an avid dancer myself, I find it so inspiring to witness the power of movement and art in all its forms.

Beyond Ballet: Fashion, Shopping & All Things Pink

Of course, no trip to Prague would be complete without indulging in the local cuisine! Prague is home to a wealth of charming cafes and traditional restaurants. I've already sampled their legendary 'trdelník', a sweet dough pastry, and a warm mug of cinnamon hot chocolate, both absolute heaven! I am very much looking forward to trying a Czech goulash – but for a little later in the trip. I've promised myself I will not have more than one sweet pastry per day!

Now, for the pièce de résistance - the Pink Tutu Tour of Prague! Let me take you on a tour of some of the city’s hidden gems.

1. The Pink Castle: Well, you may have already guessed that 'Pink Castle' is just a cute name I've given to Prague Castle. This is the largest ancient castle complex in the world! With such gorgeous grounds and stunning architectural designs, you can bet there is ample opportunity for pictures in your pink tutu! This castle holds such immense historical significance. You can easily spend a whole day here exploring the different cathedrals, palaces, and gardens within its walls. The iconic St. Vitus Cathedral is absolutely breath-taking – it's the most important cathedral in the Czech Republic and one of the most famous in Central Europe. If you visit in October, just like I did, make sure you see the autumn colours around Prague – simply beautiful.

2. Charles Bridge: A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this bridge is as beautiful as you would imagine and a classic Instagram worthy spot! Take a leisurely stroll across the 14th-century bridge lined with charming baroque statues on each side. If you’re like me, you’ll love capturing this magic on your camera (and with your pink tutu of course!).

3. The Old Town Square: A buzzing heart of the city, the Old Town Square is lined with historical buildings and surrounded by vibrant cobbled streets. In the centre of the square, you’ll find the magnificent Astronomical Clock, which is a spectacle to behold and must be seen during one of the astronomical showings where its figures come to life! For those of you who like ballet as much as I do, Prague has the ‘Dancing House’ nearby! This modern architectural marvel is sure to be a hit with those of you with a quirky style.

4. The Jewish Quarter: This area is home to a significant collection of synagogues and a Jewish museum which provide an incredible insight into the history of Jewish culture in Prague.

5. The ‘Dancing House’: For those of you who like ballet as much as I do, Prague has the ‘Dancing House’ nearby! This modern architectural marvel is sure to be a hit with those of you with a quirky style.

My Pink Tutu Promise:

Prague is overflowing with inspiration. As a ballet lover and self-proclaimed pink enthusiast, this city is a true wonderland. I am determined to bring the vibrant energy and graceful movement of ballet into my every day, and to inspire others to do the same. It is a true gift to be able to share this passion for dancing and fashion with you all. So, put on your pink tutu, unleash your inner ballerina, and explore the world with open arms and an unquenchable zest for life. You may just be surprised at the magic you encounter!

Coming Up Next Week!

My dear readers, I’ll be keeping my Pink Tutu Blog going as I continue my adventures in the heart of Prague. I promise next week's post will be all about my time spent dancing at the Prague Ballet School. You won't want to miss the behind-the-scenes glimpse into the beautiful ballet studio! Stay tuned!

Until then, keep dancing and dreaming!

XOXO,

Emma
