Prague: A Whirlwind of Romance, Pink, and Tutus! (Post #942)

Bonjour, my lovely darlings! It's Wednesday, which means a new blog post from yours truly, Emma, straight from the charming cobbled streets of Prague! Oh, my goodness, Prague... a city of gothic grandeur, historical whimsy, and enough beautiful architecture to make even the most jaded ballerina swoon. Itā€™s like a fairy tale sprung to life! And believe me, I've seen my fair share of fairy tales on stageā€¦ šŸ©°

A Week in Prague:

Last week, I touched down in Prague after a most delightful journey. Iā€™d boarded a train from Vienna, you know, the type with those cushy, leather seats and charming views of rolling green hills and snow-capped mountains? (How utterly picturesque, wouldnā€™t you say?) The train itself was such a grand old lady, and I swear I felt the carriage creak with delight as I entered with my bright pink travel tutu - perfect for an impromptu, on-the-go pirouette, should the moment arise.

You know I adore my travels, and exploring new corners of the world is as thrilling for me as a prima ballerina executing a double tour en lā€™air ā€“ it takes me places I never dreamed possible. This week, I was particularly thrilled because my Prague adventure coincided with the annual ā€œPink Tutu Pragueā€ Festival! You can only imagine the sartorial inspiration and tutus-tastic joy this brought my little ballerina heart!

A City in Bloomā€¦ and Tutu:

My travels always start with a visit to the local ballet school and shops. Luckily, Prague is practically overflowing with them, a haven for a tutu enthusiast like myself! Imagine quaint shops brimming with fabrics and laces, every shade of pink imaginable (obviously!), and vintage tutus whispering stories of ballerinas past. And just when you thought it couldnā€™t get more fabulous, thereā€™s also a fabulous tutu-making workshop on offer! I simply had to create a Prague-inspired tutu, complete with hand-stitched Czech glass beads and ribbons inspired by the ornate spires of Prague's churches! I can't wait to twirl in it during my ballet performances, oh, the beauty!

Dance Through Time:

Prague boasts some magnificent theatre venues - grand opera houses that hark back to a bygone era. I saw the most beautiful adaptation of "Swan Lake" - all the majesty of Tchaikovsky's music, the heartbreaking romance of Odette, the elegant strength of Siegfried... sigh... What an absolute treat! (I had to pinch myself a few times - it all felt like a dream!)

But Prague isn't only about formal ballet. Its historic squares and charming cobbled streets play host to some of the most unexpected ballet street performances. Just the other day, I stumbled upon a group of ballet students - some dressed in brightly coloured tutus, some in more practical outfits - performing an incredibly elegant pas de deux. It was truly mesmerizing. There's just something special about watching a balletic performance in the open air, with the sun warming your face, and a light breeze carrying the melody of the music - pure magic!

Shopping and Delights:

And of course, no journey is complete without a bit of shopping. (We all have a secret soft spot for the occasional splurge, wouldnā€™t you agree?) I discovered an adorable boutique nestled on one of the city's hidden alleyways. It was an explosion of colour and whimsy - a fashionistaā€™s paradise! I fell in love with the delicate craftsmanship of Czech jewellery (each piece as delicate and unique as a ballerina's hand) and some exquisite, vintage velvet jackets (the perfect complement to my travelling tutu, wouldnā€™t you agree?). It felt almost surreal. It was almost as if I'd been transported to a magical ballet boutique, bursting with gorgeous trinkets just waiting to be discovered.

And what's a visit to Prague without trying the local cuisine? My highlight has been indulging in the sweetest cinnamon pastries while gazing at the Charles Bridge, so quaint and photogenic. Youā€™ll see those pictures soon - just wait till you see what I have in store for my Instagram feed. And speaking of pictures, donā€™t forget to follow me on Twitter and Facebook ā€“ all the latest updates, exclusive tutu-making tips, and of course, my ballet performances (coming soon!) can be found on my pages.

Until next week:

I have a whole week of pink adventures planned here in Prague! But for now, I must dash off - my next performance is in a few hours, and I must give my tutu a final twirl before stepping onto the stage!

Until next Wednesday, keep twirling and stay fashionable, my lovelies! And remember - a pink tutu is the key to opening up a world of magic! āœØ

Lots of love, Emma x
