Prague, My Love: A Tutu-filled Adventure (Blog Post #958)

Hello darlings!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Prague update! I'm so excited to share my adventures from this fabulous city with you.

As you all know, I'm a huge fan of all things pink, fluffy and twirly – and that includes travelling! I recently took a magical train journey from Vienna to Prague, feeling like I was starring in my own whimsical ballet.

You might be thinking, "How on earth did Emma get all the way to Prague?" Well, you lovely people know I perform ballet whenever I can, earning those tutu-filled travel funds. It was all thanks to a beautiful performance at the Vienna State Opera House last week, showcasing a dazzling rendition of "Giselle" – pure fairytale magic! The energy was electric, the costumes were exquisite, and the music...well, it swept me away.

But enough about Vienna! It's all about Prague now.

A Tutu-ful Arrival

Prague welcomed me with open arms – well, it felt that way! I literally hopped off the train and onto the streets, my pink tulle twirling behind me like a cloud of joy. You'd be surprised how many smiles and "wows" I get just for wearing a tutu! It seems everyone loves a bit of pink and a little bit of ballerina magic!

My hotel, a delightful boutique tucked away in a cobblestoned street, feels like stepping into a romantic novel. My room even has a balcony overlooking a charming square! Oh, the joys of a good Parisian-style balcony... it's my favourite place to have morning coffee, enjoying a croissant while watching the city awaken.

Shopping for Prague Pearls

I wouldn't be a true tutu enthusiast if I didn't start my trip with some shopping, right? Prague has a treasure trove of little boutiques that are pure eye candy for a fashion-loving girl like me. I've already picked up a couple of exquisite necklaces, perfect for layering with my outfits, a darling little clutch purse and, of course, a delicate lace ballet slipper ornament that I can't wait to hang on my dressing table at home.

The shops here are just so romantic! Some are tucked away in tiny courtyards, with charming, winding staircases and hidden rooms bursting with treasures. One shop I loved was called "The Bohemian Muse", full of bohemian fashion that was absolutely screaming to be worn with a tutu!

Ballet Beyond Compare

Now, let's talk ballet! Prague has a rich history with the art form. You can find stunning theaters built during the Golden Age of Ballet. And, for you ballet historians out there, let me tell you – it's the perfect place to immerse yourself in ballet history.

This week, the Prague National Theatre has been showing off the exquisite talents of their ballet company, so I simply had to see it. And what a performance! I could feel the passion radiating from each dancer as they pirouetted across the stage. Their technique was flawless, and every movement seemed effortless. I was utterly mesmerised.

The National Theatre building itself is beautiful, with its gorgeous neo-Renaissance architecture, adorned with elegant carvings and frescoes. The grand entrance, a fairytale gateway to the magical world of dance, takes your breath away! It's easy to understand why this building is such a beloved landmark for the city.

And the most magical part? After the show, I ventured onto the lovely Old Town Square. The atmosphere is absolutely electric in the evenings, the city truly comes alive! With twinkling lights, the scent of roasted chestnuts, street musicians performing, and everyone buzzing with energy. And what do you know? A beautiful group of street dancers was captivating the crowd! I found myself swept up in their energy, twirling my own little tutu dance with them – Prague's magic truly works!

### The History and Romance

Of course, Prague has so much more to offer than just ballet and beautiful shops. The city is steeped in history, from its ancient castle to its charming cobbled streets, it's easy to see why it's known as the 'City of a Hundred Spires'.

I’ve spent hours just wandering around, exploring hidden corners and taking it all in. I've been especially charmed by the Charles Bridge, its elegant stone arches and lively sculptures – a great spot for people-watching and absorbing the beauty of this enchanting city!

Tutu Magic: Sharing the Pink Love

Today is 4th September and it’s officially National Pink Day. Can you imagine, it was started by my very own website PinkTutu! How utterly amazing. I'm really proud that we are encouraging more and more people to celebrate the pink love – the joy and the playful confidence that pink represents.

I even wore my "National Pink Day" t-shirt to the Charles Bridge today, with the message: "Pink is Power".

There’s just something magical about pink. It embodies a sense of joy and whimsy, it allows you to express yourself fully, it’s an invitation to dance and twirl through life! That’s why I want to share the magic with everyone. I can't wait to see how people embrace pink around the world – whether they’re rocking a fabulous fuchsia dress or simply adding a pop of pink to their look!

So, how do you celebrate National Pink Day? Share your pink stories with me on my website, www.pink-tutu.com, use #NationalPinkDay on all your photos and get those pink outfits ready!

I’ll be exploring more of Prague for the next few weeks and I’m so excited to share more adventures with you!

Until next week,

Emma xx
