Prague, Prague, Oh How I Love You! - #988 - Pink Tutu Travels to Prague
Bonjour, my darling tutu-lovers! It’s Emma here, back from a whirlwind of pink-tastic adventures in the beautiful city of Prague. My darling readers, it’s been a bit of a whirlwind getting to this lovely city - think Parisian-style romance with just a pinch of bohemian charm. But it’s always worth it when you see the amazing performances the city offers.
Prague, I’m Coming For You!I got to Prague after a very glamorous trip by train. Oh, it was such fun! Imagine sleek, luxurious carriage interiors with comfy seats that looked like they’d been straight out of a ballet production. There were grand windows with sweeping views of the countryside, and I made sure I sat right next to one of the windows so I could admire the ever-changing landscape. I swear I felt like I was part of a ballet scene! It made my tutu feel positively buoyant! I did try travelling on a little grey pony (as you all know, a good old-fashioned English pony is one of my favourites for travel) – a very sweet, plump pony named ‘Cinnamon’ with the cutest little fluffy ears! She was lovely!
My arrival into the station felt very much like arriving on stage - all those eager faces as they stepped off the trains. Oh, what wonderful excitement. And of course, a new city means a new wardrobe. You already know I love my clothes, and it felt wonderful just wandering through the charming boutiques and seeing all the incredible colours and textures of the fashion here. I already knew the must-haves in the shops in this amazing city (pink, obviously, in any form and shade), but then again I just have to see! I actually got a rather charming pink feather boa - it really added some theatrical flair. You know me – always loving to embrace every opportunity to channel a bit of a theatrical personality!
* Ballet in the Beautiful City *
But of course, my real passion lies with ballet, and I was itching to discover the treasures Prague’s ballet scene held. My dear readers, I just can't get over the sheer wonder of the ballet world – it’s all so breathtaking, from the intricate steps, graceful movements and expressive costumes to the emotions it evokes, it truly makes the heart soar. So, my trip had to be packed with plenty of ballet, naturally!
There were shows at the Prague National Theatre, which was a true delight. Think ornate gold accents, glittering chandeliers, and just the right amount of grand historical ambiance, which all added a delightful flair to the entire performance. Oh, the beauty! The dancers - so gracefully twirling around the stage, a real dream. The audience erupted into applause at the end - all I could do was take a bow (with a generous dose of my best, ever so slightly, playful-ballet curtsey).
There was also an incredibly special outdoor show on the city's Old Town Square, which was a real crowd-pleaser. You can bet your pink tutus that I dined beforehand, because you can't dance on an empty stomach! But that’s all just a taste, because of course, I had to catch up with my fellow tutu enthusiasts and enjoy ballet lessons, all in the heart of Prague's cultural scene. Oh, and let's not forget the beautiful little dance studios in Prague’s charming, cobblestoned side streets, just filled with a wonderful, magical atmosphere. Just delightful!
* A Dance of the Senses*
This amazing city isn't just about ballet and fashion. Let me tell you - there's just something special about Prague's magic, all those cobbled streets, medieval towers, the grand castles with breathtaking views over the city, and the delicious food and warm, inviting cafes. My dear readers, this really does feel like a city straight out of a fairytale! And don't get me started on the local Trdelnik - a traditional Czech treat - a delightful treat, a must-try on any visit!
And that brings me to the next part - how did you feel about my tutu adventures in Prague? If you were here on *Tuesday, 2014-04-02, you’ll know exactly how exciting a day it was for all the *Tutu Ladies! That day in Prague was very, very exciting for us – and everyone knows it! We were celebrating International Tutu Day. The fun was endless, from playful dance-offs, a spectacular flash mob in Old Town Square and even a lovely group tutu tour - the Tutu Lady guide did a fabulous job and knew all about the history and tradition of tutus throughout Prague, it was amazing, just amazing!
You’ll have to pop back next Wednesday and have a good look at all of our exciting Prague Tutu Lady pictures - that will be in blog # 989 – I have to post our gorgeous photos and, as ever, all about those fashion choices too. It's always exciting to explore new fashion styles in new destinations. That day, the little dance class I did just outside of the Old Town Square was just as magical. That’s the thing about dance, my lovely Tutu Ladies, wherever you are and whatever dance you're doing - it always adds just a dash of extra magic and makes you feel extra-special!
Prague, I'll miss you terribly! This beautiful city felt like a wonderful new dance for me, full of grace, joy, and those special memories I’ll always cherish. I hope you’re all ready to embrace your own little dance of life!
Much love and pinkest kisses,
Emma xoxo
