Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballerina's Whirlwind of Pink and Pearls! (Post #995)
Wednesday, 21st May 2014
Bonjour, darlings!
It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing blogger, Emma, writing to you live from the utterly charming city of Prague. The sun is shining, the cobbled streets are buzzing, and the air is filled with the scent of freshly baked strudel (don't even get me started on the pastries, you'll need to see for yourselves!).
But let's get back to the main attraction, shall we? This trip, my loves, was all about a magnificent performance by the PinkTutuPrague ballet company! I've always been drawn to Prague - the history, the architecture, the atmosphere - but to see it through the lens of a ballet performance was truly special.
PinkTutuPrague - A Legacy of Elegance
Let's be honest, it's not just about the name (although it does sound utterly delightful, doesn't it?). The PinkTutuPrague company has a history steeped in passion and grace, a history woven with threads of exquisite movement and elegant storytelling. Their mission, you see, is to make ballet accessible to everyone, to create experiences that inspire and captivate audiences of all ages. They embrace tradition whilst keeping a finger firmly on the pulse of contemporary trends.
A Train Ride and a Tutu Surprise
Before I even arrived in Prague, my heart was doing a little pirouette! You see, the train journey from my home in Derbyshire to Prague is always a delight - think picturesque countryside scenery and charming village stops. And of course, I wouldn't be a true pink tutu-wearing ballerina if I didn't travel in style. I chose a delightful outfit that screamed "Prague and elegance," a coral silk dress adorned with pearls, matched with a fabulous pair of silver heels (which sparkled as the sun reflected off their shimmery surfaces). To complete the look? My pièce de résistance: a coral and silver sequined pink tutu!
As I disembarked at Prague's central station, a delightful surprise awaited me: a handsome, charming gentleman, who'd taken the same train, introduced himself as a ballet enthusiast. He had a genuine twinkle in his eye, and just knowing someone shared my love for ballet, the performance and all things tutu, made the journey even more magical.
An Evening of Exquisite Dance
The performance took place in Prague's enchanting State Opera, a stunning architectural marvel. The theatre, itself, felt like a scene from a fairy tale, all plush velvet seats and sparkling chandeliers. And then there was the performance. "Giselle," a classical masterpiece, was presented with a delicate blend of grace and power. Every step, every gesture, every turn – a whirlwind of emotion.
The story itself, a timeless tale of love and betrayal, captured my imagination. Giselle, the beautiful and passionate young village girl, lost in the throes of her own tragic love story. Each step, each movement brought the narrative to life. The performance was exquisite - a perfect blend of athleticism and grace, raw emotion and tender artistry. I felt every emotion as Giselle moved from joy to grief and back again, the pain etched in her expressive face and embodied through every perfectly placed step.
Fashion, Flowers, and a Fairy Tale Ending
Afterwards, the beautiful ballerinas (dressed in magnificent tutus, of course!) posed for photographs with eager fans. It was enchanting to be a part of such a beautiful, vibrant community. And as the last notes of music faded, we stepped outside into the night air. As we made our way towards the local flower market (because, you know, a ballerina can't possibly resist fresh flowers!), I couldn't help but smile. This, I realised, is the beauty of ballet. It’s about sharing experiences, connecting hearts, and letting your dreams soar. It's a story woven with music, motion, and the captivating magic of human emotion, set against the breathtaking backdrop of a truly magical city.
Prague - A Whirlwind of Inspiration
Now, dear readers, as I continue to explore Prague, my inspiration is overflowing! I've already discovered several fabulous boutiques that are screaming "pink tutu!" They have everything a fashionable ballerina could possibly desire: silks and satins, beads and feathers, sparkles galore and the most stunning pink tulle! (Think "dream tutu" on a grand scale!) I plan on making some extra special, sparkly outfits, just in time for the next ballet performance!
Oh, and I’ve also found a fabulous tailor who specializes in crafting the most exquisite bespoke tutus, tutus worthy of a queen (or at least a pink-tutu-wearing blogger)! I'm planning to have him create a custom design, something totally unique and oh-so-extravagant. Think pink feathers, sparkly sequins and layers of gorgeous, swishy tulle. It's going to be epic!
My Dream? Spread the Pink Tutu Love!
Prague has been a truly unforgettable adventure, brimming with romance, beauty, and, of course, pink tutus! The PinkTutuPrague company and their remarkable performance inspired me to take my mission, my “pink tutu revolution,” a step further.
As I venture onwards in this world of tutus, my goal is simple: to encourage everyone, everywhere to experience the magic of a pink tutu. To wear them with pride, to embrace the joy and the freedom of a twirl. After all, a pink tutu is more than just an outfit, it's a statement, a feeling, a way to dance through life!
Stay tuned, darlings, because I've got so many exciting stories to tell, so many tutus to showcase!
Love,
Emma
