#PinkTutuPrague Ballet in Prague 2014-10-15

Hello my dearest pink-loving darlings! It's Emma, your tutu-wearing travel buddy, reporting live from the utterly enchanting city of Prague!

After a whirlwind journey, hurtling across Europe on a grand train adventure – which, I must tell you, was far more elegant than any cattle class carriage you could imagine, with luxurious seating and panoramic views – I have finally arrived in this magical city! It’s so captivating, my heart practically does a pirouette every time I turn a corner!

This week’s adventures, oh, my sweet loves, have been nothing short of pink perfection!

You know I’m all about ballet, darling! The first thing I had to do after arriving was seek out the National Theatre, which has an incredible ballet history. I just knew it was going to be a grand experience! The architecture alone took my breath away, a real fairytale palace, and stepping inside was even more amazing! Imagine my excitement, my dears, when I learned that tonight, right here, there was a breathtaking performance of the ‘Sleeping Beauty’ by the National Theatre Ballet!

As the orchestra played its opening notes, a hush fell over the theatre as we waited with bated breath for the curtain to rise. I’d seen ‘Sleeping Beauty’ a few times, but every performance is unique, a special and personal dream unfolding. Each time, the story, the music, the costumes, everything! And let me tell you, this rendition was simply stunning! The dancers were so skilled and graceful, with delicate footwork and absolutely incredible jumps – it just left me in awe!

As a bit of a fashion fan myself, I must say I was simply blown away by the costuming. The costumes were so exquisitely detailed, each with such intricate embroidery and colours that truly brought the fairytale to life!

Oh, darling, this performance was so emotional, with both delicate and powerful movements. I'm still feeling that wonderful blend of happiness, joy, wonder and sorrow that ballet can evoke. I’m sure you all understand.

It was a simply sublime experience. Even as the lights went up and we applauded wildly, it was hard to pull myself out of the magical spell that was cast by this wonderful, magical ballet. I was still buzzing as I made my way out of the theatre into the cool night air. The air smelled so fresh, it was so different from the smog in Derbyshire. It was then I felt like this was truly a place where I could become inspired again, where I could dream, be myself and inspire others too!

But my darling loves, Prague’s charm is not confined to ballet, oh no! The entire city feels like it's steeped in a rich history and is just oozing elegance! Walking through the old streets feels like a ballet in itself, with the cobblestones, ancient architecture, and colourful buildings just making me feel all floaty! The streets are brimming with cafes, shops, and quaint alleyways waiting to be discovered!

Now, you all know my love for tutus is fierce, but my other passion in life is fashion! I'm not sure how I'd be able to manage my daily routine without a little dose of retail therapy. After all, what's a good blog without a fab outfit, right?

After ballet class yesterday – yes, I just had to find a wonderful studio here, you know I’m all about staying limber and practicing my pirouettes wherever I am! – I took to the streets to find some treasures that would add some “Emma Sparkle” to my Prague wardrobe.

My first stop, darling? An incredible vintage shop right off the old square. Now, there's just something so enchanting about vintage clothing, wouldn't you agree? The style! The elegance! And the story these garments tell! I found an absolutely divine lilac-pink silk dress there – the fabric was like butter on my skin! It practically begged me to take it home, and I couldn’t resist! And, my love, you have to see the way it moves when I twirl! It’s pure elegance and I just know it'll make a fantastic picture on my blog. You’ll just love it! I paired it with a soft blush pink ribbon around my hair, a cute beret and of course, my favourite sparkly pink tutu! A perfect combo for a magical night out exploring Prague!

Oh darling, it just feels wonderful to be able to bring my favourite pink-tutu passion into the city, and I can’t wait to explore more, find more inspiration and find even more pretty outfits. Prague seems to be a real hidden gem, like a little piece of heaven hidden away in the middle of Europe. You won’t catch me going home anytime soon!
