Prague: Ballet, Beauty, and Bubbly Pink Tutus - Post #1024
Wednesday, January 21st, 2015
Oh, darling readers, it's Wednesday, which means a brand-new Pink Tutu Prague blog post is ready for your lovely eyes! This week has been absolutely divine, a whirl of culture, beautiful sights, and the most exquisite ballet performance, all capped off with a delightful dash of pink tutu loveliness, of course!
As you know, Prague is a city steeped in history and romance, and my trip so far has been everything I dreamt of. Imagine, cobbled streets glistening under a dusting of snow, charming cafés spilling onto pavements adorned with twinkling fairy lights, and grand buildings whispering secrets from centuries past. It's truly like stepping into a fairytale, and you know how much I adore a good fairytale!
Now, you wouldn't be reading my blog if you weren't familiar with my love affair with the colour pink. Prague has absolutely embraced my passion, offering me a smorgasbord of blush-tinted delights. There's the pastel pink walls of the Old Town Square, the cherry blossom pink blooms gracing the city gardens, even the sunsets here are tinged with a touch of delicate rose. Every step I take, my senses are serenaded by this enchanting shade, and my pink tutu just glows in the soft light.
Speaking of my darling tutu, this week's ensemble was inspired by the elegant architecture of Prague. I chose a delicate tulle masterpiece in a blush-pink hue, reminiscent of the pastel buildings. Its flowing layers were embellished with intricate sequins, a nod to the city's history of craftsmanship. A little sparkly tiara perched on my head, adding a touch of fairytale magic. My pink pointe shoes were, of course, essential, making my steps a little lighter and allowing me to twirl amongst the stunning monuments with a bit of extra grace.
But, let's talk about the highlight of this trip, the thing that truly made my heart sing! A stunning ballet performance at the National Theatre in Prague! The theatre itself is a breathtaking masterpiece, all opulent velvet, shimmering chandeliers, and gilded details. My breath was taken away by its beauty and grandeur!
The performance was even more captivating, showcasing a sublime reimagining of Tchaikovsky's classic ballet "Swan Lake." I was transfixed by the choreography, the ethereal costumes, the raw talent of the dancers - it truly touched my soul. Their grace, precision, and passion reminded me of my own love for the art of ballet, and made me yearn to return to the stage myself. After all, you know my little pink tutu and I have a way of charming even the most serious audiences!
Of course, a trip to Prague wouldn't be complete without a little exploration of its hidden treasures. This week, I spent a glorious afternoon browsing through the antique shops tucked away in the charming backstreets, each filled with vintage gems waiting to be discovered. I found myself snagged by the allure of vintage ballet accessories, finding a few antique silk ribbons and an old program from a ballet company in Prague in the 19th century! It's these little pieces of history, these threads connecting me to the past, that truly bring me joy.
My adventures didn't stop there! Prague has some truly magical locations, and my week was packed with exploring them. I ventured to the whimsical Charles Bridge, adorned with statues and history, and enjoyed the view over the Vltava river, the light sparkling off the water just as beautiful as the light on the stage. It made me feel as though I were part of the stories told in Prague's magnificent castles, like one of those fairytales I mentioned earlier!
My explorations also took me to Prague's Old Town, a vibrant heart beating with culture, markets overflowing with local delicacies and, you guessed it, pink souvenirs! I just had to bring a little pink Prague home with me, a delicate little pink ceramic bear holding a rose. Isn't it just perfect? It will look amazing on my shelf with all my other ballerina themed souvenirs.
For all of you budding ballerinas out there, I highly recommend exploring the ballet studios dotted around Prague. I spent an hour on Saturday taking a beautiful class in the attic of a charming dance studio. It was the perfect way to end the week, surrounded by lovely people, dancing my heart out in my tutu. The studio even had some antique mirrors - perfect for practicing those ballet poses!
And of course, no blog post about Prague would be complete without mention of its exquisite food! I savoured traditional Czech cuisine, indulging in goulash and roasted pork alongside mouthwatering apple strudel. All washed down with a generous amount of freshly squeezed lemonade and a selection of locally made herbal teas - I've never seen so many teashops in one city!
My trip to Prague has truly been a delight! Filled with enchanting landscapes, vibrant cultural experiences, and a sprinkle of fairytale magic. And it's all wrapped up in my darling pink tutu. Remember, you can find more about Prague, my tutus, my dancing adventures, and my favourite pink finds right here on PinkTutu.com!
Stay tuned for next week's adventures, and as always, wear your pink tutus proudly, dear readers, and let's bring a little bit of magic to the world, one twirl at a time!
Until next week!
With a pink flurry of kisses,
Emma
