Pink Tutu Prague: A Whirlwind of Culture and Couture (Post #1030)

Hello my darlings! It’s Wednesday, which means it's time for another whirl around the world with yours truly, Emma, the Pink Tutu Ballerina! 🩰

This week, I’m jetting you straight to Prague! My dear friend, Elodie, had been raving about this city for months, and when the opportunity to perform in a charity ballet at the National Theatre arose, I couldn’t say no. It felt like fate, don’t you think?

A Train Journey Like No Other

The journey from my lovely Derbyshire home to Prague was pure enchantment. Yes, a train journey, no less! There’s just something about travelling by rail that fills me with such a sense of romance. It’s a chance to watch the world drift by, take in the scenery, and revel in the quiet clatter of the wheels. 🚂

This time, I even treated myself to a little luxury – a private compartment! With my very own pink travel teacup (it's my lucky charm, don’t judge!), I enjoyed a spot of afternoon tea with freshly-baked scones and a good dose of gossip with Elodie over video call. What could be more civilised?

Prague: A Fairytale in Stone

When I arrived in Prague, I was completely enchanted! It truly is a fairytale city, with its cobbled streets, magnificent castles, and charming old buildings. Imagine walking through the heart of the city, sunlight streaming through the coloured glass of the Charles Bridge, with every step an echoing sound of history. Oh, I just couldn't get enough of it all!

I've already fallen head-over-heels for Prague’s stunning architecture. The intricate carvings on the buildings, the breathtaking views from Prague Castle, the sheer majesty of St Vitus Cathedral... it's a feast for the senses! Everywhere I turn, there’s a photo opportunity just waiting for me, a beautiful backdrop for my daily Pink Tutu-themed selfies! 📸

A Ballet Dream in the Heart of Prague

This week’s performance was truly magical! The National Theatre is absolutely stunning, adorned with intricate gold leaf and sparkling chandeliers, fit for a fairy godmother.

I felt so privileged to perform in such a grand space. My costume, a breathtaking, tulle-laden, pale pink creation (what else?) was simply exquisite! It had the most delicate embroidery of tiny pink rosebuds and was, of course, my signature, slightly puffed out tutu shape – so incredibly elegant, with a touch of dramatic whimsy.

The audience was so incredibly supportive and appreciative, and there were so many beautiful tutus in the audience too! (I always try to be a good influence and spread the pink tutu love!) I even had a delightful little girl, barely four years old, approach me after the performance, beaming with her tiny pink tutu, a true champion of pink and fluffiness! 😍

Shopping Adventures in Prague

I can’t visit a new city without immersing myself in its culture. This week, that meant browsing through Prague's countless boutiques, discovering local artisans, and adding some fabulous new treasures to my wardrobe!

You won’t believe the gorgeous vintage tulle fabric I found – it has this exquisite floral print and such a soft, floaty feel! I already have ideas brewing for a new tutu design… I can't wait to share my creation with you! 💖

A Night Out to Remember

I am simply incapable of passing up an opportunity for a good old-fashioned night out! Elodie took me to a spectacular street theatre performance – acrobatics, fire breathing, magic, the whole shebang! It was exhilarating! I couldn't help but dance along, my pink tutu swirling in the twilight breeze! I am not entirely sure what I was supposed to be doing with my tutu and whether or not I am actually meant to do it (maybe the fire part?!). But we had a ball, that's all that matters! ✨
