Prague Pretty: Tutuing Around The City Of Dreams (Post #1029)

Hello my lovely tutufarians! 🩰 It’s Emma here, back from a whirlwind week in the enchanting city of Prague, where, as always, I was on a mission to spread the pink tutu love! 😉

This week’s adventure was extra special – I was actually in town for the prestigious International Ballet Festival! You can imagine my delight! Ballet, tutus, and Prague? This was practically a dream come true. 😍

As always, I arrived in Prague in true Emma style – by train! The journey from Derbyshire was smooth and filled with so much anticipation. There’s just something magical about travelling by train; it feels so romantic and timeless. 🚂 Of course, my outfit was a symphony of pink – a delicate tulle skirt paired with a silk top, a dainty floral crown nestled amongst my curls, and my favourite cherry red ballet flats, ready to prance around the cobbled streets.

Now, let’s talk Prague! The city is absolutely stunning – a blend of history, beauty, and a certain je ne sais quoi. Imagine medieval architecture peeking out from behind grand baroque churches, cobblestone streets leading to bustling markets, and a magical aura clinging to every corner. You could easily get lost in the winding alleyways, lost in the sights and sounds, and lost in time. ✨

Before diving into the ballet, I had to experience the shopping! Let’s be real, I was on a mission to find some Prague-inspired treasures for my tutu collection! 🛍️ My heart skipped a beat when I stumbled upon a tiny, vintage boutique tucked away on a quiet side street. I practically squealed with delight when I discovered a velvet ballet slipper bag, adorned with intricate Prague motifs, that was practically begging to be mine! Of course, I had to take it home as a memento of my time in this incredible city.

And then, the moment I’d been waiting for – the International Ballet Festival! 🎉 I was practically bouncing with excitement as I strolled towards the beautiful National Theatre. The whole atmosphere buzzed with energy, a symphony of anticipation, as dancers and theatregoers gathered, all ready to immerse themselves in the magic of ballet.

My eyes widened at the grand architecture of the theatre – an ornate façade of sculptures and statues, it seemed to practically dance with life. And once inside, I was transported to another world; the ornate chandeliers glittering, the velvet seats shimmering, the stage ready for its performance – all I could think was, ‘This is simply too beautiful to be real!‘

The first show was something out of a fairytale! We were treated to an incredible performance of ‘The Nutcracker’ by the Prague National Ballet. I gasped in awe at the graceful dancers, their bodies seemingly defying gravity as they pirouetted and leaped across the stage, their costumes a breathtaking spectacle of colour and design. I was entranced by their every move – each twirl, each leap, a testament to their years of dedication and passion. And then there were the little ballerinas; I just adore the innocence and joy of watching children explore their love of dance! I have to say, that adorable young Sugar Plum Fairy definitely stole the show for me. 🍬

The next day, I decided to try a different side of Prague – a bit more low key, but no less enchanting. I visited a quaint tea room, tucked away in a hidden alleyway, its walls adorned with paintings and porcelain figurines, and it offered the most charmingly delightful selection of herbal teas, sweet pastries, and finger sandwiches – everything a little ballet dancer could dream of! 🍵 Of course, I dressed for the occasion in my delicate floral pink dress, and I found the perfect pastel pink tutu to complete the look. You know I always try to inject some tutu-ific charm wherever I go!

In the afternoon, I indulged my wanderlust and took a leisurely walk along the picturesque Charles Bridge, marveling at the iconic architecture and enjoying the bustling energy of the city. I couldn’t help but imagine the historical figures who had walked this very path centuries before me, leaving behind their stories etched in the stones of the bridge. I stood mesmerized as a group of musicians played classical tunes on the bridge, filling the air with melodies that whispered of history, beauty, and dreams. 🎼

And my adventures didn’t end there! I even got to witness a beautiful street performance in the heart of the old city, featuring talented dancers who created stories with their movements, their passion radiating through the city streets. 💃 I even tried my hand at some twirls, inspired by the incredible energy of their performance! (Don’t worry, I wasn’t as good as them! But I gave it a good try!)

Every day in Prague was filled with enchantment and wonder, a reminder that there's beauty to be found everywhere, especially if you’re wearing your pink tutu. It’s all about embracing the magic, the whimsy, and the joy that life has to offer – and wearing a pink tutu makes it all so much more delightful.

But, it wasn’t all about ballet! My adventures in Prague also involved embracing the culture and trying new things! On my last night in Prague, I ventured to the enchanting Old Town Square and was captivated by the clock tower's whimsical Astronomical Clock – the ornate figures marched and jingled as if participating in their own ballet performance! And, of course, I had to sample some of the traditional Czech food and drinks! 😋 I devoured the tastiest schnitzel and drank the sweetest hot chocolate – all while basking in the beauty of the illuminated square.

I truly believe Prague has captured my heart. It’s a city of dreams, romance, and beautiful surprises! I've left a little piece of my pink tutu-lovin’ heart in Prague, a reminder of the unforgettable time I spent exploring this magnificent city, discovering its hidden treasures, and indulging in my love for ballet and all things pretty!

Stay tuned for more tutu-tastic adventures on my next trip!

Until then, spread some pink tutu love, my lovelies! ✨

Emma xoxo

P.S. If you're a tutu-lover and love ballet history as much as I do, I’ve got a little something for you! I’ve just finished reading an amazing book on the history of tutus, detailing their evolution from simple skirts to the iconic garments we know and love today. I was so impressed by the artistry and skill involved in the crafting of tutus, and the book offered fascinating insights into how the design has changed over time. You can find the book at my favourite bookstore, [Insert Name of a bookstore near Derbyshire], it’s a must-read for any ballerina at heart! 💖

P.P.S Remember, my beautiful tutufarians, a pink tutu is not just an outfit, it’s an attitude! So let your pink tutu wings take flight, be fearless, embrace your inner ballerina, and live your life to the fullest, because life is a ballet, and you are the leading lady! 🩰 💖
