Prague: Where Pink Tutús Take Flight! (Post #1028)

Hello darlings! It’s Emma here, and guess what? I'm back from a whirlwind adventure in Prague, a city that's truly stolen my heart! 💖

I know what you’re thinking, a trip to Prague? In February? Absolutely! The romance of Prague shines bright even in the colder months, with its cobblestone streets glistening with frost and charming cafes full of warmth and laughter. ☕

It all started with a stunning invitation from the National Theatre – a chance to dance amongst the stars, literally! ✨ The opportunity to perform there was something I couldn't resist, and after months of rehearsals and meticulously crafting my costumes (because a ballerina always needs to look her best, especially in a historical venue like this!), I finally landed in Prague with my pink tutu ready to twirl.

Now, Prague is no stranger to beautiful tutus. Just walking through the city feels like a scene straight out of Swan Lake! The architectural splendour of the Prague Castle, the fairy tale charm of the Charles Bridge, and even the gothic majesty of Old Town Square – everything is bathed in an ethereal glow that's fit for a ballerina! 👑

My heart, though, skipped a beat the moment I saw the majestic National Theatre itself! The building is truly stunning – a masterpiece of Neo-Renaissance architecture with the most incredible, elaborate decoration. Inside, the air crackled with history. This building had seen some of the greatest ballet performances in the world, and I felt so privileged to add my little pink tutu contribution to its story! 💖

The performance went off without a hitch, and I must confess, the applause of the Czech audience felt incredibly rewarding! I was literally on cloud nine after the curtain call, my pink tutu still tingling with the excitement of the performance!

But Prague isn't all about performance – it's also about exploration! And that's exactly what I did in the days that followed. My first stop, naturally, was a tour of the Old Town Square. The Astronomical Clock – a masterpiece of engineering and craftsmanship – captivated me. This clock, dating back to the 15th century, had an aura of history, a feeling of secrets whispered through the ages. I felt like I was dancing through time with every step.

From there, I journeyed to the Charles Bridge – a must-visit for any fashionista. This iconic bridge, with its statues and street performers, was like a giant fashion show, complete with bustling street vendors offering beautiful Prague-themed souvenirs, and street artists showcasing their talents, transforming the bridge into a captivating canvas of colours and creativity.

Prague was, however, much more than just a backdrop for my performance and exploration – it became a delicious haven for indulging in my love for all things fashionable! 💖 The city bustled with charming boutiques and shops brimming with handcrafted jewels and quirky designer wear. The Prague artisans have a unique artistic eye, crafting beautifully intricate jewellery that sparkled with an understated elegance – my kind of bling! 😉 I couldn’t leave without picking up a stunning silver necklace for myself! ✨

And of course, what’s a trip to Prague without a taste of the delicious local cuisine? Czech cuisine is surprisingly light and wholesome, with flavours inspired by centuries of tradition. Their famous roasted duck was absolutely divine – a rich and decadent delight that brought a smile to my face (and an extra inch to my waist, but who's counting, right?) 😂

Speaking of delightful food, my journey wouldn't be complete without a visit to a local pastry shop, and of course, I had to go in for my favourite: Trdelník. You know, the dough spun over a stick and roasted until it was crisp and golden, then topped with a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar, or Nutella (a pink ballerina’s favourite!). 🤤

One of my favourite moments, though, was actually not about shopping or delicious food – it was the feeling of complete relaxation I found myself experiencing during a walk through Petřín Hill. This hillside offers a stunning panoramic view of the city and feels truly enchanting, especially during sunset. It was a quiet moment for reflection, for appreciating the beauty around me and for dreaming up my next grand adventure! ✨

And while Prague will always have a special place in my heart, it's time for me to move on to a new destination! I’ll keep you posted on my next travel plans (with a few cheeky pink tutu sneak peeks of course!), but for now, let me leave you with this: if you ever get a chance to visit Prague, do! It’s a truly captivating city with a timeless charm, full of artistic inspiration and heart.

Until next time, stay sparkly!

Emma 💖
