#PinkTutuPrague Ballet in Prague 2015-03-18

Hello lovelies! It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another fabulous Pink Tutu blog post. This week, I’m whisked away to the enchanting city of Prague! As you know, I live for the thrill of travel and what better way to see the world than in a stunning, vibrant pink tutu? After all, what is more charming than seeing the world through the eyes of a tutu-wearing ballerina? 😉

It feels like forever since my last post from the heart of England, Derbyshire. The Derbyshire countryside has been a constant source of inspiration, with its beautiful green hills and enchanting woodlands. But the pull of Prague was irresistible! The romance of it all, the cobblestone streets, the stunning architecture – my pink tutu couldn’t wait to dance amongst its beauty.

So, this week’s journey takes us on a whirlwind tour of Prague’s captivating culture, fashion, ballet, and oh-so-delicious food! Just grab your favourite cuppa, settle into your favourite comfy seat and get ready to embark on a journey through the enchanting lens of my pink tutu! I’m so excited to share these beautiful memories with you! 💖

The journey to Prague began with a breathtaking train journey! The rolling green hills of Germany passed me by as I travelled in comfort. My tutu, you know, feels equally at home on trains as in the ballet studio. Nothing quite beats that romantic whiff of old steam and leather seats! Oh, and don’t get me started on the view of the majestic countryside!

The journey allowed me to reconnect with my inner ballerina. You know how it is, the gentle sway of the train carriages has such a hypnotic effect, don’t you? I couldn't help but practise some of my favourite barre exercises and a few playful, graceful leaps. Luckily, the lovely folks in the carriage seemed to appreciate the impromptu performance!

Speaking of performances, I’m reminded of why I love travelling. The magic of a place comes to life through live art, especially ballet! That’s where I draw my inspiration – the sheer elegance of it all! But I also love it when dance transcends the boundaries of the traditional stage and dances right out onto the streets.

Now, I can’t reveal all of my exciting Prague secrets, so get ready for a sprinkle of surprise! But I can tell you this: it’s time to put on your own imaginary pink tutu and travel with me! I promise it’ll be an enchanting adventure! 💖

And now… the moment you've all been waiting for! Prague has blown me away! Imagine a world where fairytale architecture mingles with medieval magic! From the stunning Charles Bridge to the awe-inspiring Prague Castle, it feels like I’ve stepped into a romantic fairytale.

The city pulses with a vibrancy, and I’m feeling so very inspired by the sheer joy that seems to seep from every cobbled street and every charming little cafe! Oh, the excitement! Of course, it wasn't long until my inner shopaholic surfaced! The boutiques here are brimming with exquisite fabrics and accessories! A balerina's dream come true!

The first day began with the quintessential Prague experience: a delicious Czech breakfast, a cup of hot, steaming coffee and the fluffiest bread, followed by a magical wander around Prague’s Old Town Square! It was such a thrill to stroll amongst the iconic Astronomical Clock and watch the enchanting “Walk of the Apostles” unfold at the top of the hour! I love how Prague has held onto the magic of the past!

As the sun warmed my skin and the wind carried the laughter of tourists, I found myself dancing across the charming streets – twirling my pink tutu amidst the lively chaos, feeling like a ballet dancer who had just stepped off a beautiful fairytale stage! I’m telling you, Prague is made for dreaming!

Now, I can’t tell you everything! You'll just have to see the next Pink Tutu Prague blog for some of my magical finds! But, let’s just say this… I stumbled upon the cutest boutique tucked away by the River Vltava! And oh, my! The perfect pink accessory was calling to me! 😉 (If you know my love for all things pink and the enchantment of sparkling jewels, you'll just have to wait until next Wednesday’s blog to discover the true identity of this beautiful object.) Suffice to say, my Prague diary has a very stylish new entry!

As you know, a ballet performance is always at the top of my to-do list when travelling! So, on day two, I ventured to the iconic National Theatre of Prague. The anticipation built as I took my seat in the theatre's plush velvet armchair.

And then, the lights dimmed. The beautiful notes of the live orchestra swirled through the theatre like an exquisite symphony of anticipation. The scene was set for a truly magical performance. Oh, how I love it! Seeing such incredible artistry right in the heart of this enchanting city was an absolute dream. The dancers’ expressions, the stories woven into their every move, the beauty of the costumes – oh, I felt so fortunate to be able to see ballet come alive so vibrantly!

This magical evening cemented my belief that the magic of ballet can be found in every corner of the world.

And oh, the exquisite tutus that were being worn in this performance! The details, the delicate silk fabrics – just incredible! The colours – so bold, yet perfectly complementary. And the graceful way the dancers moved in those magnificent tutus… well, I’m inspired to find the perfect, pink Prague-inspired tutu back home in Derbyshire!

After a magical morning of exploring the gorgeous streets of Prague’s Old Town, I discovered a haven of tranquility hidden away: The breathtaking gardens of Prague Castle! This magical palace garden felt like a different world entirely, with lush foliage, tranquil ponds and cascading fountains – an ideal setting for an afternoon dance in my pink tutu! The gardens feel like a hidden fairy tale, the kind you find only in old movies and enchanted books.

But just like Prague's castle itself, this beautiful green space whispered stories from another era, and my pink tutu helped me capture those stories in every dance and twirl. Every movement felt more magical as I was immersed in Prague’s enchanting history! (Speaking of which, I did discover a secret about Prague’s legendary “Prague Pink Tutus”! That story will have to wait for next week, but I can assure you… it’s truly magical. And I may even be incorporating my discoveries into my own future tutu designs – that’s right, the next Pink Tutu line is on its way!)

Speaking of inspiration, the food in Prague has been a true sensory delight! Imagine this: a symphony of sweet dumplings, a tender plate of succulent pork roast, and oh, those magical, cinnamon-spiced trdelník! From local street food to fine dining experiences, every meal has been a culinary journey through the city's delicious heart. And don't forget the magical Czech beer – such a warming and invigorating way to enjoy an evening.

But wait, I have something special in store for you! (You’ll have to wait until next week to discover just what that secret is!) I will tell you this… Prague is known for its special traditional dishes – oh, I almost let that delicious secret slip!

And to round out my unforgettable time in Prague, I spent the evening at a small, traditional theater - A perfect escape from the buzz of tourist attractions and an enchanting space for ballet dancers of all shapes, sizes, and styles. I got a real sense of Prague’s vibrant cultural heart here! The dancers moved with such passion and energy; the energy was infectious, and you could feel the connection they had with each other and their audience. The atmosphere in that small theatre was simply magical!

Finally, my Prague adventure ended with a magical experience that I'll treasure forever! The train journey home was full of surprises. As the train slowly snaked through the enchanting landscapes of the Czech Republic, a playful herd of ponies galloped across a grassy field beside the tracks!

Can you even imagine! This charming, fleeting glimpse of playful horses brought so much joy and wonder into the journey. I don't know what’s more special – dancing in Prague’s vibrant city center or enjoying a tutu-worthy rendezvous with the most magnificent, pink-hued ponies in Czech Republic! I've added the magical image of the ponies to my Pink Tutu diary! Perhaps that might even inspire my next Pink Tutu dance creation!
