Prague: A Ballerina's Dream in Pink! (Blog Post #1052)
Hello darlings!
It's Wednesday, and that means it's time for another installment of my Prague adventures on www.pink-tutu.com! I've been living my absolute best life here in this beautiful city, soaking up the culture, the architecture, and of course, all the fabulous fashion!
I’ve finally managed to find time to put pen to paper, or rather, fingers to keyboard after another exciting whirlwind week in this stunning city!
This Week's Highlights: A Ballet Bonanza!
This week was a real dream for a ballet lover like me, with a double dose of amazing performances. Let's delve right in, shall we?
Wednesday:
After a fabulous morning in the charming Old Town Square, complete with a rather handsome gentleman selling exquisite hand-painted floral umbrellas - he would definitely have won a place in my “Pink Tutu Gentleman” calendar! I slipped into my most delicate pink tutu – my favourite one, actually, that features beautiful embroidered lavender blooms. With its wispy layers of tulle, it truly brought my feminine nature to the forefront, just perfect for exploring Prague’s romantic alleyways! It goes without saying that this delicate piece received much admiring glances.
The afternoon was filled with a ballet history treasure hunt! The ballet archives here in Prague are quite astonishing! Did you know that the very first documented tutu dates back to the late 18th Century in… Prague! It’s such a privilege to see such an impressive collection of tutus throughout history – so much history is entwined within these delicate fabrics. They represent artistry, femininity, and creativity, all rolled into one – my favourite themes! You simply must visit them! I promise they are absolute treasures. I was so thrilled to even discover a a photo of the first ever Pink Tutu worn by the fabulous Rosalia (but of course it's just an unconfirmed rumour that it was indeed pink!).
Later that evening, the ultimate treat for my ballet-loving soul – an evening performance at the magnificent National Theatre! As I walked down the steps, feeling quite princess-like in my signature pink tutu – it was a gorgeous shade that perfectly captured the Parisian atmosphere – the ornate facade, the energy of the crowd, all felt simply magical. It was such an enchanting evening with such captivating dancing – simply breath-taking.
Saturday:
After a busy week I couldn’t resist a day at the local dance studio – oh, they just have the best ballerina outfits. It is an absolute treasure trove for any dancer! I simply can’t resist indulging in some new ballet wear – even if I do have an embarrassing amount of shoes already. They just call to me! As I strutted down the streets in my new ballet gear I thought about what a lovely idea it would be to start my own ballet shop to encourage people to take up dance, or even to just to wear the beautiful tutus just like me! It would be a shop full of pinks! Oh, I could picture it!
The weekend culminated with the highlight of the week, another exquisite ballet performance – a local street production – a complete fusion of music and dance. It was captivating. It was simply amazing – just a dream in pink ! The way the dancers interacted with the street lights, the cityscape – a complete love affair !
I've fallen head over heels with this beautiful city. Prague has become my second home – especially since they have the best shops – it has everything I’m looking for in the city of my dreams: a city where dancing reigns supreme.
Next week: The pink tutu challenge continues.
My lovely reader, are you up for a challenge ? I’m going to start a ” Pink Tutu challenge ” in the heart of Prague . I want to encourage everyone – men and women, to wear pink tutus - all the shades of pinks - to dance in the square – and bring a touch of joy and excitement to Prague! Come along!
Until next week - Keep twirling and be sure to let me know what you think in the comments below - let's keep this pink tutu party going.
Love always,
Emma
