Pink Tutu Prague: A Dreamy Debut, Post #1051

Wednesday, July 29th, 2015

Oh my darling dears, I’m simply positively giddy to be back with a new post for you! It’s Wednesday, which of course means… Prague time!

This week I’ve been positively swept off my feet in this charming, cobbled city. Imagine, if you will, stepping off a train, the scent of fresh bread and cinnamon swirling around you, and then seeing Prague Castle perched majestically on a hill, bathed in the golden glow of a late summer afternoon. Oh, darling, it was a true fairytale moment!

I’ve arrived with my suitcase stuffed to the brim with beautiful ballet essentials: several tutus, of course, a kaleidoscope of pink ballet shoes, and enough glittery hairbands to outshine a Christmas tree. I know I said I was leaving Derbyshire for a while, but a girl's gotta have her tutu's! This city has a charming energy - every corner breathes history and culture, so it's the perfect setting for a tutu-filled adventure. And I'm not even talking about my own (though I can't wait to dance in the Charles Bridge!)

Let's talk ballet… in a pink tutu, naturally.

Now, Prague boasts a magnificent ballet scene, something which has truly excited me, I must confess. I saw the most beautiful ballet last night, 'La Bayadere', at the magical National Theatre. Imagine this: a building bathed in golden light, a shimmering grand staircase, and the most captivating story unfolding before my very eyes.

But, the most wonderful thing? Oh darling, let me tell you - I witnessed it all whilst wearing the most delightful, feather-trimmed, pale pink tutu. Yes, darling, even here, in the heart of Europe, I managed to make my mark! And what a glorious spectacle it was! I felt like a fairytale princess (and I wasn't even wearing my tiara, which I confess I completely forgot, much to my dismay! But it did allow me to give my dazzling pink turban a little more opportunity to shine!)

The dance was as intricate and graceful as a rosebud unfurling, the dancers as ethereal as clouds floating across a moonlit sky. Oh, I felt every note, every whisper of the music. It was an absolute dream! It reminded me why I love ballet so much - it's pure magic, you see! It takes you to another world, one filled with beauty and wonder, and the music... my darling, the music speaks to my soul!

A Bit of Parisian Romance in Prague:

Speaking of beauty and wonder, I simply have to share my favourite discovery in Prague so far. The most divine, pink boutique nestled amongst cobblestone streets in the Old Town. I found it quite by accident while trying to decipher the directions to a fabulous bakery (pastries with pink frosting, my darling!), and stumbled upon a little gem. Imagine this: overflowing racks of exquisite vintage fashion, with a colour palette inspired by my own wardrobe! Oh, and the most fabulous tutus imaginable! My eyes, quite literally, did widen with glee!

As luck would have it, the owner is a charming, pink-loving, vintage enthusiast like myself. She's been collecting exquisite ballerina accessories and vintage clothing for years. It was like being surrounded by all the treasures from a fairytale! I treated myself to a bejeweled, candy pink satin purse with an oversized bow. I know, I know! You might say that I already have quite the collection of pink bags, but, well, let's just say you can never have too many tutus - and that this is an undeniable rule of life.

I must say, after a morning spent exploring this boutique, I felt quite Parisian myself. My darling, there is truly something about Parisian fashion. It makes you feel elegant and whimsical at the same time. I truly felt like I was on set of one of my favourite ballet movies, all while being surrounded by gorgeous clothing and delicate lace. (A definite tip: don't forget to try on the vintage wedding dress! It's divine and positively dreams in pink.)

A Magical Journey:

Prague is already whispering tales of enchantment. My daydreams are filled with ballet classes, charming cafes, and discovering every corner of this wonderful city. Tomorrow I'll be taking a horse and carriage ride - yes darling, a horse and carriage - to the castle.

I've been indulging in the delightful local cuisine - think delectable dumplings and flaky pastries. (I must say the traditional Czech "trdlo" pastry, with its cinnamon sugar dusting and crisp edges, simply sings to my sweet tooth.)

This city feels like a beautifully written fairytale, and I, your devoted Pink Tutu princess, am eager to discover every last chapter. Stay tuned, darling dears, because I'll be sharing my adventures, my fashion finds, and my latest tutu inspirations with you each week!

Don’t forget to subscribe to my blog, pink-tutu.com and leave your comments below! Until next week, dear dears, stay twirling!

With love, Emma

xx
