Pink Tutu Prague - Post #1059
Bonjour, mes chéries!
It's Wednesday, and that means it's time for another installment of my Pink Tutu Prague blog! This week has been a whirlwind of tutu twirls and cobblestone streets. I've been absolutely besotted with this magical city – Prague is definitely my new favourite for a fairytale getaway!
Let me tell you, it’s been a simply delightful trip so far. The moment I stepped off the train (a little carriage for you romantic souls) from Derbyshire, England, I felt as if I'd walked into a painting. The architecture is so charming, the cafes are adorable, and the atmosphere... well, the atmosphere just screams 'romance'!
It seems as if the whole of Prague has a ballerina tucked away within it – I just know it! There’s a graceful litheness to the locals, like they’re just waiting for their cue to twirl down the narrow cobbled alleyways, and of course, that just delights my inner prima donna!
My quest for pink tutus has, however, proved somewhat tricky. You wouldn’t think it, given how many fairytale elements surround me, but the streets haven’t yielded the perfectly rosy ballerina dress of my dreams! This, however, isn’t deterring my tutu aspirations - after all, even with the absence of the perfect tulle in sight, Prague itself seems to offer up some pretty amazing sartorial options!
On the sartorial front, my luggage is bursting with new purchases, ready to be presented for your admiring glances on the good old ‘gram – let’s face it, this pink tutu enthusiast loves a good outfit shot. This city has such unique vintage boutiques hidden away on narrow side streets - you really need to keep your eyes peeled, my dears, for these delightful hidden treasures! And I mean ‘hidden’ - some shops have no signage, just the faint promise of sartorial magic behind heavy wooden doors.
So far, I’ve snagged a fabulously frivolous vintage scarf in shades of lilac and powder pink - the perfect accessory for a day of tutu-tastic Prague explorations. There’s also a brand new beret (oh how I adore those little hats, they’re just so Parisian!), a blush pink handbag (pink, always and forever!), and some darling little pearl earrings that wouldn't look out of place on a Parisian ballet dancer.
The only thing that might make my time here even more enchanting is, you guessed it… a ballet! This Saturday, I’m absolutely thrilled to be attending a performance by the Czech National Ballet. The programme is something I’ve been looking forward to for months – I absolutely adore the story of the 'Nutcracker'! I even have a new tutu planned - something dramatic and festive, naturally. It has to be pink, of course!
Oh, I simply can't wait to experience the magic of this classic tale within the grandeur of the State Opera. Prague has been brimming with enchantment ever since I arrived, but Saturday will be a true night to remember!
Now, my darlings, don’t forget that if you’d like to follow me on my magical Prague adventure, you can always pop by the ‘gram - @pinktutuballerina. You know what they say, a tutu never lies!
Stay tuned for more enchanting adventures from the Pink Tutu Capital of the World, Prague, and until next week… remember… life’s better in a pink tutu!
Au revoir!
