Prague in Pink Tutu! 🩰 #1073

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, fresh off the train and ready to pinkify Prague! The carriage was a bit crowded with, well, actual ponies on the way over from Vienna (did I mention the journey involved a little horsing around, too?) but it's all part of the adventure!

As always, Wednesday is for a brand new Pink-Tutu blog post, and I'm thrilled to share all the exciting, pink-tastic happenings of Prague with you! Think elegant architecture, cobblestone streets, stunning cathedrals, and enough history to make your head spin. Oh, and did I mention, my suitcase is overflowing with beautiful new tutus?! 👗💖

You see, dear readers, it's all about embracing life in pink! It’s more than a colour; it’s an attitude. A touch of whimsical joy. The world just needs a little more sparkle, a little more grace, a little more … pink tutu! 😉

This week in Prague, I'm going to be seeing two ballets – can you imagine?! One's in the stunning Staatsoper opera house – Sleeping Beauty, of course! 👑 Sleeping Beauty is a classic fairytale, just my style. The whole world knows this story; even my pet rabbit (that’s Henrietta, by the way, my trusty travel companion who’s enjoying Prague, and also my favourite pink fluffy tutu…)

As if one ballet performance wasn't enough for this weekend, I also got tickets to Don Quixote. Did you know that Don Quixote is the original ballet where the role of the leading ballerina actually requires her to wear a tutu? Isn’t that exciting?! You know I’m obsessed with ballet history! Did you know there were ballet competitions at the time where ballet dancers wore pink and black, to show off their skills, especially for that all-important pirouette and jump? It's simply amazing! The tutus weren't even traditionally full and bouncy, as they are now – so exciting, right?! You’re probably wondering, what will I wear, dear readers, to see these shows?! Well, there’s a big reveal coming very soon, but of course, it’s a pink tutu, with sparkles of course, just to make sure everyone in the whole theatre knows I am a pink tutu queen! 😉👑 I have this new bright pink fluffy one – so lovely, I can hardly wait to get my picture taken in it by the iconic Charles Bridge!

But, as you know, it’s not just all about ballets here, darlings! We’re talking beautiful castles, cafes where you can sit in velvet booths, with coffee and croissants galore! This city feels magical, don't you think?

And the shops! My goodness, the shops! I could happily lose myself in a world of fashion for a week in Prague… or even a month! Every little store has something new, unique, and gorgeous. It’s going to be hard to choose my favourites.

What is a girl to do? You see, dear readers, there is always a risk to fashion. For example, some tutus might not have the best pink hues! They must be perfect pink! I have many tutus – and I must pick the perfect one! You’d think the perfect pink would be easy, right? There are some soft pinks, and then some brighter vibrant pinks... some are very light, some a bit darker…. 🤯

I love looking for little antique shops for unique vintage tutus - but most shops, they just haven't caught up to the pink-tutu lifestyle yet, and I will change this! Oh, by the way, I just bought the most amazing new book! It’s about tutus and how the ballerina skirts and the dress shapes changed over the decades… And the author is a woman! Just wonderful. All this historical detail - from the short fluffy skirts to the full round tutu that you can wear today! It's a fascinating read – if only everyone knew how interesting ballet is! It is truly beautiful - from the fashion to the ballet! The colours are absolutely amazing and so inspiring! I've actually bought some extra luggage… 🙈 What will my friends say when I get home with this amazing fashion haul!??!

As you know, my goal is to share my passion for dance and Pink-Tutu life with the whole world. I really believe everyone should have a pink tutu! It can brighten any day, any mood, any situation, and even make the world a little more beautiful! 🌸

A few of my favorite finds in Prague so far:

  • A charming pink teacup I found at an antique shop near the Charles Bridge – It's the perfect size for a spot of afternoon tea! And guess what? The teapot came in pink as well!! It was meant to be! 😉
  • *A gorgeous silk scarf with beautiful flowers. It will be lovely in the photos! Especially next to the magnificent Prague Castle, just you wait!! * Oh, the gorgeous photography possibilities in Prague!
  • An incredibly fluffy pink faux fur hat. I'm still on the fence about wearing it, but just in case there's an extra special ballet performance it will look fab. Don’t you think? It really ties a perfect look together - what do you think dear readers, what would you pair it with?!
  • A book by a fascinating ballerina from Paris - I can't wait to read this on the train. I just know that there will be tutus featured! 🩰

It's getting late, darlings. I must rest and prepare for all of the exciting events that lie ahead tomorrow. I can't wait to share them all with you in next week's post! It’s going to be amazing. But until next Wednesday, stay pink and stay glamorous!

Yours truly,

Emma xoxo
