Prague's Pink-tastic Charms! 🩰🌸

Post Number 1078, 3rd February 2016

Darling dearies!

Well, hello from the absolutely breathtaking city of Prague! It's me, Emma, and I'm bubbling over with excitement because I'm back for my weekly pilgrimage to Pink-Tutu.com and, oh darling, I have SO MUCH to tell you!

The cobbled streets, the towering castles, the fairytale bridges, the gorgeous cafes overflowing with pastries... I mean, I honestly haven't seen such loveliness since I had a cheeky chinwag with the Queen! (I really have, she loves pink tutus...or so she tells me... 🤫)

A Ballet-Centric Adventure Begins!

Right, you know how much I adore the history of ballet and how the costumes have evolved throughout the years? Well, Prague is literally dripping with ballet history! Did you know it's home to one of the oldest ballet companies in the whole world? The National Theatre is positively dripping with drama! There are even ballet performances in beautiful, ancient spaces that literally make you feel like you've stepped into a painting!

This week, darling, we're at the magical Národní divadlo. That's Czech for National Theatre, but just so you know, everything is so chic and sophisticated here, even the theatre names! Národní divadlo has seen its fair share of ballet greats, and just picturing the legends of the past waltzing on that stage makes my heart go thump-thump.

Dress-to-Impress in the City of Dreams!

Of course, I made sure to visit the Národní divadlo decked out in a truly beautiful blush-pink tutu! Darling, I literally shimmered! This little beauty, adorned with a delicate tulle frill, perfectly reflected the beautiful architectural details of the building - think sweeping arches, delicate stone carvings, and a splash of blush-pink stained glass in a tiny corner window! You've GOT to see the photos I took - I look like a modern day ballerina stepping straight out of a classic painting!

But Prague is NOT just about ballet (though, seriously, it's pretty much all I think about!). Let's be honest, it's the perfect place to indulge your inner fashionista. There are boutiques on almost every corner bursting with beautiful vintage dresses, hand-crafted leather goods, and adorable shops selling absolutely EVERYTHING in shades of pink - imagine a ballet shoe shop full of sparkly ballet shoes! Honestly, darling, if they offered pink tutu-making classes I'd be signing up so fast you'd barely see me move!

Prague By Pony...and Train!

Now, you know I have to include a travel adventure! I've become quite attached to a beautiful chestnut pony named Pip, and let's just say, he's the perfect travelling companion! This week, we took a breathtaking ride along the Vltava River. It's literally like something out of a fairytale. We had to ride under the famous Charles Bridge, adorned with statues and stunning views, and then meandered alongside the river banks as the setting sun cast a golden hue over the whole city. It truly was magical. I wouldn't have had it any other way - riding with Pip is just pure joy, even if it is a little difficult finding a decent outfit for our outings!

You know me, darling, I can't let a journey go by without hopping aboard a train, too! Last weekend, we ventured further afield to a gorgeous little town called Český Krumlov. Think picture-perfect fairytale architecture, meandering cobbled streets, and, you guessed it, more ballet! Turns out, they have a charming little ballet school!

And of course, a delightful boutique just begging me to buy their gorgeous pink tutus, complete with lace detailing and matching bows - they were practically calling my name! How could I resist?

A Toast to Pink and Prague!

Oh darling, this city has literally stolen my heart. It's vibrant, it's captivating, it's beautiful - but it's also kind! I feel a real sense of warmth here, and the locals have been so friendly, even going as far as to tell me that my pink tutu is "beautiful" in perfect English! (Seriously, the things I learn when I'm exploring - even if it's just through polite compliments! 😂)

You know what else I love about Prague? Their amazing cafes! There's literally a cafe on every corner! The best bit, they serve amazing pastries! Just this morning I had a trdelník! (If you haven't tried one yet, you must. It's a kind of doughnut cooked around a cylindrical rod! - and it's utterly delicious!)

Anyway, darling, that's me for this week! You have to see the pictures on Pink-Tutu.com, but honestly, you have to visit Prague for yourself. It truly is the most amazing place to dance, shop, and live out your inner fairytale princess.

Just don't forget your pink tutu! (And your camera!)

Hugs and kisses!

Emma xx

*P.S. Remember to come back every Wednesday for my Prague adventures! *
