Pink Tutu Prague - Ballet Dreams in a Magical City! (Post #1101)

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to Prague, a city that's positively brimming with romance and beauty! This is definitely a destination that should be on every ballerina's bucket list. And trust me, when I say, this trip was all about ballet and tutus. We're talking ballet classes in charming studios, stunning performances at historical theaters, and of course, loads of gorgeous shopping!

As usual, this week's post is coming to you live from my laptop, with a view of the rolling hills of Derbyshire. It feels like a million miles away from Prague's cobbled streets, but the memories of the last few days are still as vivid as a beautiful pas de deux!

I'd say that I travelled in style - well, as stylish as a pink tutu-clad ballerina can be! I journeyed on the Eurostar to Brussels and from there hopped on the train for the magical ride through Europe, all the way to Prague. The train journey was like stepping back in time, in a good way of course.

You know I love to explore by train, it feels so much more intimate and romantic than a plane. Plus, there's just something so satisfying about settling down in a comfy compartment with a good book, enjoying the scenery drift by and imagining all the adventures unfolding at the stations along the way! It's the perfect time to delve into some ballet history books – or to simply dream about those gorgeous ballet flats I saw in Paris last week, just a stop away!

Speaking of Paris, we have to discuss this season's fashion trends, darlings! In Paris, they are all about the new wave of tutu inspired frocks! They are light, floaty, romantic and they flatter every figure! They pair so well with a gorgeous pair of ballet pumps, perhaps with a little ruffle or flower embellishment! The looks are effortless, with just a touch of elegant pink, creating an effortlessly chic look!

Prague Ballet Inspiration:

Anyway, back to the magical city of Prague. Once I'd settled into my charming little hotel (with its own little balcony and view over a twinkling canal!), I was absolutely buzzing to explore its captivating atmosphere! Now, Prague's famous for its medieval architecture, cobbled streets and historic charm - and honestly, it truly lives up to its reputation! There are fairytale castles on every hill, stunning Baroque churches around every corner and so much beauty just waiting to be explored.

My first order of business, naturally, was a visit to the National Theatre. I'm obsessed with old theaters, they hold so much history and drama. They exude a special energy, especially the ornate detailing, beautiful marble, and opulent red velvet. And Prague's National Theatre certainly didn't disappoint - it's absolutely gorgeous! Built back in the 1880s, it stands tall on the banks of the Vltava river, and the craftsmanship is simply breathtaking!

You've guessed it - on Wednesday, July 13th, I was so excited to be in the National Theatre watching The Sleeping Beauty! Now, The Sleeping Beauty is a real ballet classic, and the production in Prague was truly beautiful, an absolute masterpiece. The dancers were graceful, passionate and moved with such elegance that I was totally captivated throughout the entire show!

The costumes were dreamy - imagine tutus in softest pinks and blues, adorned with shimmering beading, oh it was simply beautiful! The performance took me on a magical journey, from the forest scenes with their dappled sunlight to the fantastical scenes in the castle! It truly left me in awe of the talent and beauty of the ballet world.

Afterwards, as I was sipping a cup of šalvějový čaj (sage tea, yum!) in my favorite cafe (right on the edge of Charles Bridge!), I knew that Prague would hold a special place in my heart - and not just because I managed to snag a beautiful hand-painted ballet tutu at a charming little shop near the Old Town Square! This is one trip that will stay with me, not just for its beautiful architecture and friendly atmosphere, but also because I really connected with Prague's own, special balletic heart.

Speaking of ballet and beautiful things... have you heard about the newest Tutu trend in London? There's a shop called Tutus & Tiaras - they offer ballet class inspired evening gowns and shoes, complete with matching ballet inspired bags and jewels! Oh it’s just perfect! So much pink, sparkle and sheer elegance!

Exploring Prague's Ballet Scene:

And here's something else that you should absolutely add to your list if you're ever planning a trip to Prague - taking a ballet class in the heart of this captivating city! Now, this wasn't just any class, darlings. I managed to find a ballet school housed within an old Baroque building! The classes were amazing - they really encouraged expressive dancing, beautiful lines, and a love of ballet. The atmosphere in the studio was pure magic - there's really nothing like moving to the music in a beautiful, historical space.

Even though my classes were pretty intense, the instructors were warm, friendly and patient. After all, you need to master the barre to look your best on that dancefloor don't you? *That’s just a ballet girl thing! ;) *

Prague Food and Travel Essentials:

In between all that dancing and tutus, Prague also surprised me with its absolutely amazing cuisine. I fell head over heels for traditional Czech food: savory goulash, hearty potato dumplings, and those scrumptious trdelník pastries filled with cinnamon! My trip to Prague would never be complete without exploring their fascinating and flavourful cuisine!

A bit of insider info, darling, there’s a hidden little spot called Malostranska Trznice. They sell trdelník with the most beautiful pastel pink icing - definitely a photo opportunity! Don’t worry I got lots for you, and my friends in England too! You have to try this - it's so worth the trip!

My favourite memory? It’s so difficult to choose! From ballet dancing in historic studios to a dreamy performance of The Sleeping Beauty , this has been one of my most memorable journeys. It’s given me some fantastic inspiration and motivation, I feel so much creativity welling up inside me now!

Pink Tutu Prague Inspiration:

Prague has left me buzzing with new inspiration, darlings! It’s not just about ballet class and show visits, it’s about exploring a beautiful city through the lens of ballet and tutus. My aim is to encourage all you beautiful women to live life to the fullest.

That's my Pink Tutu Prague blog for this week!
