Pink Tutu Prague - #1100: Dancing Through Prague's Cobbled Charm

Hello my gorgeous, tutu-loving darlings!

It's Wednesday, and that means a brand-new Pink Tutu blog post, straight from the cobbled heart of Prague! It's so lovely to be back, and this time, I've traded my trusty little pink bicycle for a luxurious train journey, just because sometimes, a girl deserves a little pampering. You know I love my travel by train, but the scenic route through rolling hills and sun-kissed countryside was pure magic, like a real-life fairytale.

As you may have guessed, Prague is like stepping into a ballet! Everything about this city sings to the ballerina in me: the ornate architecture, the pastel buildings lining the Vltava River, the air filled with music, even the cobbled streets are just begging for pirouettes. And of course, it wouldn't be a Pink Tutu blog without some serious tutu action! My favourite pink tulle creation is making a guest appearance in Prague's charming squares and whimsical alleyways, a whirl of colour against the backdrop of gothic churches and pastel houses.

What to see in Prague?

Well, let's just say I haven't even had time to unpack! But before I start gushing about the enchanting atmosphere and delectable pastries, I simply have to share this little gem: The Prague National Theatre is an absolute dream come true.

This incredible building, right on the bank of the Vltava River, is not only breathtakingly beautiful but it's a haven for the world of ballet, featuring some of the most talented dancers and captivating productions in the whole of Europe. You know how I feel about ballet; it's my passion, my art, my way of expressing everything I can't say with words. And being in a city like Prague, where you can feel history whispering through the cobblestones, makes every performance feel even more magical.

But Prague isn't just about ballet, oh no, it's a shopping paradise! This is a place where even the most budget-conscious ballerina can indulge in a spot of retail therapy. From quirky vintage boutiques and antique markets to high-end fashion houses, this city is overflowing with stylish temptations. I already found the perfect pair of sparkly ballet flats at a tiny little shop on a back street - and I simply can't resist a pair of stylish dancing shoes, even if I'm wearing my favourite pink tutu.

Speaking of tutus, let's talk about the history of this beloved piece of clothing!

Tutus were first worn back in the 18th century, imagine, imagine, all those years ago, long before Instagram and Youtube! It's incredible how this iconic piece has survived centuries, constantly adapting to trends, and it's still going strong! In fact, a classic tutu like the ones you see in The Nutcracker or Swan Lake is truly a timeless design that's just as elegant today as it was a hundred years ago. It's fascinating to see how tutu designs have evolved through the years, becoming more elaborate and whimsical as ballet progressed. You can practically feel the stories woven into each frill and pleat, each layer and stitch!

And I can't talk about tutus without talking about ballet itself. Every step in the ballet class is about creating beauty and elegance, not just movement. That grace and poise translates into how we stand, sit, even how we walk down the street, bringing elegance and confidence into every aspect of our lives. That's why my mission is to get everyone in the world wearing a pink tutu, one elegant pirouette at a time. Because if it feels this good to dance, it's time to put on a tutu and feel the magic of dance!

So, what's on my agenda today?

I'm on a mission to find a shop specializing in the art of ballet because who knows, I might just find a gorgeous pink tutu to take home as a souvenir. After a morning of shopping and a leisurely brunch at one of Prague's delightful cafés, I'll be heading towards the heart of Old Town Square for an afternoon stroll and perhaps a visit to one of the city's stunning art galleries. And to finish off the day, I'm planning a romantic sunset ride along the Vltava River with a charming, traditionally dressed, and of course, very pink, little pony! What could be more magical?

I hope you enjoyed reading all about my adventures so far! Remember to check in again next week for another Prague update.
