Pink Tutu Prague: Ballet Dreams and Pink Fashion

Post Number: 1099

Wednesday, 29 June 2016

Hello, darlings! It’s your favourite tutu-wearing traveller, Emma, bringing you another scintillating slice of my life from the cobbled streets of Prague! Oh, my goodness, the last few days have been a whirlwind of pink delights! You see, darling, Prague is truly a city for lovers of ballet, history, and of course, a dash of the whimsical!

A Pony Carriage to the Old Town Square

This week's adventure kicked off with a positively fairytale-esque journey through the city streets. My friends and I (all wearing pink tutus, naturally!) decided to forego the traditional tourist bus for something a bit more...charming. A pony carriage, dear readers! Imagine us, scampering through the city centre in this delightful carriage, pulling up right next to the enchanting Old Town Square! It was a scene out of a fairy tale, complete with cobbled streets and pastel houses.

Pink Power at the Old Town Square

After the pony carriage adventure, we made our way to the iconic Astronomical Clock. As the clock chimed, I, quite naturally, found myself spinning around like a prima ballerina, and as a lovely man with a guitar serenaded me, I couldn't resist throwing a few twirls in! It truly is a spectacle that takes you back in time and allows you to embrace the city's rich history. Of course, I couldn't resist grabbing a pink-tutu-approved photo opportunity at the square, where the cobblestone and pastel hues of the architecture looked just perfect with my bright pink tulle!

A Ballet Boutique and My New Tutu

As any true tutu enthusiast knows, a trip to Prague isn't complete without a ballet boutique adventure! Oh, darling, let me tell you, Prague’s little ballet boutiques are havens of beauty. Delicate lace tutus, silk ribbons, and intricate hand-stitched details – my heart nearly skipped a beat! I simply couldn’t resist adding another tutu to my collection. You know me, my friends, my wardrobe needs a pink tutu for every occasion, and the exquisite lace creation I snagged in this little boutique was simply irresistible!

Opera for the Soul and a Pinch of Ballet Magic

One of my favourite Prague memories this week was an unforgettable performance at the National Theatre. This truly grand theatre, built in the 19th century, is breathtaking. I was absolutely mesmerised by the enchanting performance, featuring the story of Carmen. I simply adore the intricate melodies and dramatic narratives woven into these timeless operas. Oh, it was a pinch of ballet magic right in front of my eyes.

Fashion Fun with the Ladies

Between my ballet and sightseeing adventures, I discovered a little vintage clothing store right in the heart of Prague. They had the most fabulous array of beautiful vintage garments, including a silk blouse I simply had to own. After a bit of fashion fun and laughter with my girlfriends, we took to the streets for a delicious Czech dinner and, of course, shared stories from the day’s adventures. What’s a trip to Prague without a little bit of chic and fun, right, darlings?

A Dream Come True: My Ballet Class

One of my highlights of Prague had to be taking a ballet class. I must admit, darling, it took a little coaxing from my friends, but I gave in to their demands to twirl and leap like a true ballerina in the city. As I danced alongside other ballet lovers in this elegant Prague studio, I was transported. It felt so incredibly natural, and I knew that this was the perfect way to explore the beauty of ballet while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of Prague. I have to admit, this might have been the perfect week of pink!

What's on Tomorrow

Tomorrow's itinerary is packed, darlings! We are off to visit the iconic Charles Bridge, adorned with Baroque statues. Then we'll stop at a cute cafe to grab some pastries and continue to admire Prague's magnificent architecture. I hear a special Czech cake called “Koláče” is a must-try and can be enjoyed from various charming cafes scattered across the city. Oh, and I can't forget my grand finale: I have booked a spot in the ballet school of the Prague State Opera! It is time to twirl amongst some true ballet greats, soak in some incredible energy and knowledge, and even steal some dance tips. You won’t believe this, but my dance teacher in Prague was a professional dancer with the London Royal Ballet - what an absolute dream! I may have even picked up a new routine for my next performance in Derbyshire!

Pink Tutus For Everyone!

You know, my friends, I always say, life is too short to not wear pink, and to not wear a tutu, of course! You could be at a cocktail party, or out strolling the streets of a European capital, but a pink tutu can always make things feel magical! If you ever have the chance to visit Prague, I encourage you to embrace the beauty of the city in your own special way! After all, darling, Prague is simply a city made for dreams, whether it's a dance dream, a historical dream, or a fairytale dream - and we all know the most glamorous dream of all? A pink-tutu dream!

See you next Wednesday, darling!

Yours truly,

Emma
