Pink Tutu Prague: Ballet Dreams in a City of Charm (Blog Post #1109)
Hello lovelies! It’s Emma here, your favourite pink-tutu-clad ballerina, and I'm finally writing to you from Prague! It feels surreal, this beautiful city bathed in sunshine with cobblestones under my pink ballet shoes.
Reaching Prague: The Romance of the Rails
This time, my journey started in Derbyshire, the heart of England, where I boarded the train to Prague. Now, I don’t know about you, but there’s something incredibly magical about travelling by train, especially when you're wearing a bright pink tutu, naturally! The rhythmic chugging, the gentle swaying, and the endless views – it's a truly dreamy way to begin an adventure. And speaking of dreams, you just have to see the train stations here in Europe! The Prague station was like something out of a fairytale with its intricate details and ornate architecture. It truly set the stage for my Prague escapade.
First Impressions: A Whirlwind of Colour
Prague has that captivating "old world" charm I adore. The moment I stepped out onto the cobblestone streets, a sense of wonder washed over me. Everywhere I looked there were captivating colours, from the burnt orange rooftops to the vibrant blues and yellows of the historic buildings. It's like stepping into a fairytale painted by Monet.
The Tutus Are Calling: Shopping for a Prague Dream
As any true ballerina knows, every city requires a brand new tutu – or at least a new hair bow! And let's be honest, Prague has got the shopping scene nailed. From independent boutiques tucked away in quaint alleys to designer labels lining the bustling streets, it’s a true shopaholic's paradise. My favourite discovery was a little hidden shop with vintage ballet accessories. Can you imagine, I found the most stunning pair of lavender ballet slippers, just my colour! They were so perfectly worn and danced-in, you could feel the history. I just had to add them to my collection.
Pink Tutu Prague: Dance into the Night
Tonight, I’m taking in a ballet performance at the National Theatre, a venue that’s steeped in history and grandeur. And just to be prepared for a night of breathtaking pirouettes and beautiful movements, I chose a pink tutu with delicate lace detailing and sparkling sequins. I'm excited for this show; Prague has such a rich history in dance, and I just know this performance is going to be truly unforgettable. And speaking of history, I simply have to tell you about my incredible visit to the ballet museum here. They have an exhibit dedicated to the history of the tutu – so fascinating to see how the designs evolved throughout the years.
Follow the Rhythm of the City: Prague's Ballet Scene
Prague is alive with dance and music. Everywhere I turn, there’s a busker playing a beautiful melody, or a group of street performers putting on an impromptu show. There's a real sense of artistic passion here. I even stumbled upon a small ballet school where they hold classes on the rooftop. Imagine, taking in the view of the city while doing your pirouettes! How very "La La Land" of Prague, isn't it?
Living Like a Ballerina: From the Stage to the City Streets
Speaking of my favourite things, one of the best things about this trip has been just strolling the city in my pink tutu! People just smile at you, it’s like everyone gets what the tutu represents. I love sharing this sense of fun and artistry with the world! I also feel more comfortable when I travel wearing it. You know how I am: not very good with maps, so I'm very grateful I'm easily recognisable – if I do happen to get lost in this beautiful maze of alleyways and cobblestone streets!
Stay tuned! Tomorrow, I'm heading to a charming tea room near Charles Bridge. I’m going to get some gorgeous pictures, perhaps with a cheeky teacup and some pastries, and tell you all about this special place, the heart of Prague. But until then, you can follow me on Instagram to see more pictures and behind the scenes action from my time here.
