Pink Tutu Prague: Post 1114: Tutu-ing around Prague with a sprinkle of magic

Hello, darling tutus! 🩰 It's Emma here, back from the magical city of Prague, and oh my, what a trip! As always, I'm ready to fill you in on all the fabulous details, with a generous sprinkle of pink, of course. 💕

This week's blog post comes from the heart of Prague, a city that’s practically bursting with stories of fairytale castles, cobblestone streets, and history echoing through every corner. As I explored this magnificent place, I couldn’t help but think, "This city would make a truly splendid backdrop for a ballet!" And the ballet is precisely where I found myself last week, swept up in the magical world of "Giselle" at the enchanting National Theatre.

Now, you know me and my love for all things ballet. But before we delve into the enchanting performance, let's talk about the journey that brought me to this magnificent city.

Tutu Travels: Derbyshire to Prague by Train and Pony

This time, I swapped my usual pony rides for a glamorous train journey. Yes, you heard right, darling tutus! A majestic train journey through Europe - a symphony of chugging engines, sparkling countryside, and dreamy views.

Of course, I wouldn't dare step onto a train without a perfectly pink ensemble. Think a delicate blush pink dress that swished and swayed with every clickety-clack, and my favourite dusty pink tulle tutu – a vintage find, of course – with layers of tulle as delicate as a summer’s dream.

But no journey, however luxurious, is complete without a touch of the whimsical. Enter the adorable mini Shetland pony I brought along. Don’t worry, darling tutus, I managed to sneak him on board, snuggled up comfortably in a custom-made carriage that doubled as my luggage. Let's just say a miniature pink tutu-clad pony in the midst of all those stoic businessmen sparked a flurry of smiles! 💖

Prague: Where Fairy Tales Meet Fashion

Arriving in Prague was like stepping into a fairytale. The Old Town Square with its intricate architecture felt like a stage set for a ballet production. Imagine "Swan Lake" unfolding against the backdrop of the historic Astronomical Clock, the dancers soaring through the air as the bells chimed their ethereal song.

Speaking of ballerinas and swan-like grace, darling tutus, Prague is also a haven for fashionable shoppers. You've got to visit the Old Town Square – there are dozens of designer boutiques nestled amongst the historic buildings, like precious jewels waiting to be discovered.

I picked up the most divine velvet skirt for my next performance - a deep, royal purple with a subtle sheen. Imagine it paired with a cloud-soft tulle tutu, swirling in a ballet of opulence. It’s a symphony of colour and texture that makes my tutu-loving heart soar!

The Enchanting "Giselle" at the National Theatre

And now, onto the reason I travelled all this way: "Giselle." This iconic ballet is a whirlwind of passion, heartbreak, and forgiveness, performed by the National Theatre ballet company, an ensemble of truly remarkable dancers.

They spun and soared, their movements like wisps of smoke against the dramatic backdrop. You know how much I adore romantic ballets - "Giselle" truly embodies the romantic spirit of this incredible art form.

It’s not just about the dancers, darling tutus, the music! I’m so impressed with the Prague symphony orchestra - every note they played filled the theatre with an emotional energy that took me on an incredible journey.

But don't worry, darling tutus, it's not all serious ballets. There's plenty of room for light-hearted fun!

A Ballet Soirée and the "Ballet Blanc" Illusion

My weekend in Prague wasn’t just about admiring talented dancers and exploring breathtaking streets. No, it was also an excuse to throw a mini ballet soiree! And what's a soiree without the quintessential tutu, right?

You wouldn't believe the reactions when I walked in - a delicate cascade of soft pink tulle against a backdrop of candlelight and the whispers of "how darling."

After all, tutus, aren’t they all about a little magical illusion? When I wear mine, I feel like I can leap into the air, my body flowing through space with the graceful lightness of a feather.

We shared stories, danced and twirled (oh yes, there were plenty of twirls), all bathed in the glow of friendship, laughter, and, of course, a whole lot of pink. 💖

My Tutu Wish for Prague

You see, darling tutus, that’s my life goal - to inspire people to find their inner ballerinas and embrace the joy of dancing and expression, however big or small. To make the world a little more whimsical, a little more elegant, and yes, a whole lot more pink.

That’s why my biggest wish for Prague, a city that already embraces a beautiful blend of tradition and style, is to see more people wearing tutus! Imagine the streets filled with pops of pink tulle, the air alive with the whispers of tutu-clad dreams, a gentle ballet of happiness that spills from the stage into the hearts of everyday life.

Because darling tutus, why wait for the spotlight when you can be the star?

So what are you waiting for? Find your perfect pink tutu and let your inner ballerina bloom. Don’t forget to share your magical moments with me! And remember, stay fabulous, stay sparkling, and stay… Pink! 💖

Until next time,

Emma xx
