Pink Tutu Prague - Post #1140
Wednesday, April 12th, 2017
Oh darling, Prague! You have been utterly enchanting, my dearest. Such elegant cobblestone streets, historical buildings bursting with story, delicious food and fabulous shops, with so much of my beloved pink. I've been smitten from the moment my train, with its smooth rocking and the smell of leather and old time charm, pulled into Prague Main Station.
Now, let me fill you in on my week, full of beautiful adventures and so many glorious pink tutus!
Pink Perfection
The pink has just been incredible here! You know I love it, my sweet friends. Prague was pink from dawn till dusk! Pink houses, pink lampposts, pink buildings with pink flower boxes spilling over with glorious blossoms. I couldn't resist snapping photos. I have a whole Instagram feed devoted to the beauty that is Pink Prague. I just want to be swept away to that perfect pastel pink hue.
The shops have been simply dazzling, with so much tulle. Oh, I've been on the hunt for a new tutu, but I haven't found my perfect one yet.
Fashion in the Czech Republic
Now, there is definitely a Parisian influence here in Prague. But you can also tell this city loves its vintage and it certainly has a vintage fashion scene. It seems so bohemian and chic. I can see why people are fascinated with it.
One of the best vintage boutiques was hidden away in Old Town. The walls were plastered with pictures of the original owner's beautiful mother who looked as though she had just stepped out of a Dior ad. We had a lovely conversation about what makes vintage so interesting.
She talked about how each item held stories, and was handmade, whereas everything now seems to be disposable. She even showed me the original tutu her daughter danced in as a little girl. It was stunning in layers and layers of white tulle with sequins. It still fit perfectly, after all those years!
I adore vintage, and was completely swept away with this beautiful Parisian bohemian feel of Prague. I am definitely returning to this shop when I have a bit more time to spend, but it just wasn't possible on this trip. I'm already dreaming of a pink tutu vintage finds that I will purchase when I get back!
A Touch of History
It's not all tutus, my dear friends. There's more to this life than pink! I've also had the pleasure of experiencing the majesty of Prague Castle. The vast architecture, the gardens that sweep down towards the river. This city has been bursting with a romanticism, so very Parisian! But Prague holds its own story of history and art, and it is absolutely unique.
The history is a bit dark and complicated in Prague. A story that is part of Europe’s history. But that hasn’t made this place less beautiful or full of light. We’ve found plenty of fun and friendly faces everywhere.
Prague holds many wonders in its medieval squares and historic castles. It's such a magical city, with a spirit of mystery and the energy of magic and story that is deeply charming!
Pink Tutu Ballet in Prague
The main reason for my journey to Prague? Why, of course it’s the ballet. I simply can’t resist seeing a new production.
We had dinner at a charming restaurant with views across the city. Then we took a leisurely walk to the beautiful National Theatre.
The Prague National Theatre has an incredibly ornate facade with a large golden statue and beautiful relief sculptures.
After admiring the theatre itself, we stepped into the majestic, ornate foyer with plush red seats and stained-glass windows.
The performance was amazing! I can't believe I was able to snag seats at such a last minute. My darling had such a wonderful time and we had so many memories. She just loves the dance.
On a Pony to Prague!
Of course my dear little pony has travelled with me, as I travel almost exclusively by train. She's an adventurous pony. She was with me at my last performance. You just can't have ballet without her. And let's face it, you just can't have ballet without a tutu, darling.
I find so many tutus in my travels, you just don’t know! And this is how I fund my travels.
If you want to travel like a princess and perform, you just need a gorgeous pink tutu to capture the attention of your audiences!
*And it's true. My tutus and ponies bring the smiles, and the ballet keeps us all going! *
I know it may sound crazy, but I just have this belief that if you’re willing to dance a little you can accomplish anything. You may feel awkward or uncertain, you may be unsure of your ability to make a dream into reality.
But I’m a firm believer in that everything is possible if you just step into your pink tutu and dance your way forward.
If you would like to find out more about performing for the masses to help finance your next ballet adventures, do let me know! We all love tutus and our beloved horses, darling!
So until next Wednesday my dearest friends. Be bold. And do wear pink!
