Pink Tutu Prague: Post 1168 - Whirlwind in a Tutu
Hello darlings! It's Wednesday, and that means it's time for another pinktastic adventure from your favourite tutu-clad traveller, yours truly! This week, I'm waltzing straight out of Derbyshire and into the heart of Prague, the city of a thousand spires (and an abundance of fabulous pink outfits, I just know it).
For the last few months, I've been swirling through rehearsals for a new ballet adaptation of 'The Nutcracker' back home in Derbyshire. But the pull of Prague was too strong to resist! This city, steeped in history and overflowing with enchanting charm, has been calling to me like the dulcet tones of a violin concerto. So, naturally, I hopped on the Eurostar - first class, naturally! - and zoomed straight into the heart of Central Europe.
You see, this trip to Prague isn't just about sightseeing, although I have every intention of exploring all its gothic majesty, with its breathtaking Charles Bridge and those quirky little alleyways teeming with artists and artisans. No, this adventure has a specific purpose, one that would make even Tchaikovsky’s most demanding conductor blush. This Wednesday evening, I'll be experiencing something extraordinary: a special performance of the enchanting ballet, "La Bayadere", by the world-renowned National Theatre Ballet at the majestic State Opera House. I am simply giddy with excitement, darlings!
The Call of the Tutu: Fashion Inspiration from Prague
But let's talk fashion, my favourite topic! Oh darling, this city is a true sartorial dream come true! Prague is an absolute haven for the colour pink, which of course makes my little pink-loving heart go pitter-patter. I’ve already stumbled upon some vintage gems, delicate little pink chiffon dresses with the most divine pearl buttons, that have already been carefully nestled into my luggage! But it's not all frills and froth, darlings! Prague also oozes sophisticated style. There’s a timeless elegance in its cobbled streets, and in the beautiful, slightly worn yet immaculately restored buildings. I just know my pink tutu, complete with a dusting of diamanté and a touch of vintage lace, will be the perfect accessory to blend into the city’s unique mix of traditional beauty and modern flair.
A Ballet Lover's Delight: Stepping into the State Opera House
I’ve heard whispered rumours of a grand ball being held this weekend at a castle just outside the city, darlings, and my imagination is already running wild with the possibility of twirling amongst the grand halls, surrounded by historical glamour. But before the ball, there's La Bayadere. Oh, I've been eagerly waiting for this. My dear readers know how much I love "La Bayadere." Its story, a haunting tale of love, betrayal, and sacrifice, resonates deeply with me, as do its mesmerisingly beautiful dance sequences. To witness it performed in such a glorious venue as the State Opera House, is almost surreal. I can already picture it: the crystal chandeliers glimmering, the velvet seating embracing its guests, the anticipation rippling through the audience, all leading up to that first beautiful note of the orchestra.
The performance is almost upon us, so I best dash away. Remember to follow me on Instagram and Facebook for updates on my pink adventures, and check back in next Wednesday for more pink-tastic stories from this incredible city. And, my darlings, always remember: wear pink, embrace the tutu, and never be afraid to twirl!
Until next time, Emma Xx
P.S. Remember my readers, this trip to Prague is financed entirely through my ballet performances. I believe in hard work, grace, and that every dream can be realised with passion and a sprinkle of glitter.
P.P.S. Speaking of dreams, isn't this gorgeous city giving you some wanderlust? Just remember, sometimes you need to get out of your comfort zone to discover something truly amazing. It’s one of the many reasons I absolutely adore this travelling lifestyle - I've danced all over Europe in pink tutus and loved every minute. So, darling, follow your dreams, take a leap of faith, and remember: life’s a ballet. It’s meant to be beautiful, dynamic and, yes, pink!
