Pink Tutu Prague: Post #1187 - A Tutu-ful Time in the City of a Hundred Spires
Hello lovelies! It's Wednesday, and you know what that means: it's Pink Tutu time! This week I'm writing to you from the magical city of Prague. Oh, Prague, you have stolen my heart! From the cobblestone streets to the gothic spires to the delicious goulash and the sheer charm of it all, it’s an absolute fairytale!
You've probably already guessed from the title that I'm going to be sharing my latest ballet adventures, but I promise this post won't be all tutus and twirls. There's so much to tell you about this amazing city that it's going to take more than just a blog post – you'll just have to visit for yourself!
First, let’s chat fashion. Prague has so many vintage shops and cute boutiques. I bought a stunning beaded belt, a perfect match for the vibrant turquoise tutu I had on. It wouldn’t be a true Pink Tutu adventure without some tutu-related finds, would it? The vintage shops have the most beautiful little trinkets that really added a splash of whimsy to my travel wardrobe.
My favourite moment in Prague was probably attending the performance of The Sleeping Beauty at the National Theatre. I just love Tchaikovsky and it's probably my all-time favourite ballet. And, the costumes, my goodness, they were exquisite! There were even some tutus, with a nod to the elegance and romance of the original Victorian era. It's fascinating to see how styles change in different decades but still maintain that core spirit of grace and movement.
But of course, a girl’s got to eat! I fell head over heels for the local cuisine. Prague’s traditional food was pure comfort food - think fluffy dumplings, hearty goulash, and delicious beer. My favourite had to be the apple strudel, though, with its sweet cinnamon scent filling the air. Just the thought of it makes me crave a trip back already!
Speaking of trips, you all know my preferred mode of transport - trains! The journey from Derbyshire, England, to Prague was truly an experience. I travelled by night, the moonlight painting the scenery in a romantic glow. And with my trusty pony, Pepper, beside me, we made it across the Channel in record time! I'm going to try to share a video of our travels in the next post. You can see just how well Pepper enjoys a train journey!
As always, this trip was made possible by my favourite thing in the world: dancing! I performed in several lovely ballrooms here, twirling for charity and sharing my love of ballet with a new audience. Seeing people's faces light up as they watch you perform is a truly magical feeling.
I'm a firm believer in that everyone should be empowered to embrace their inner tutu-wearing princess! Every person has a story to tell, and for me, my story is a love of dance, fashion, and travel. It's about embracing the feminine, and finding joy in the simple things – like a cup of coffee in a Parisian café, a ride on a pony, and the sheer thrill of a good twirl.
Now, let’s wrap things up before this post becomes as long as my travel itinerary! If you have any questions or want to share your own travel adventures with me, be sure to leave a comment below! And of course, make sure you check back next week for more pink-tastic travel updates. Until then, keep those tutus twirling!
Much love,
Emma xx
