Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballerina's Whirlwind Week in the City of a Hundred Spires - Post #1211
Hello darlings! It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for a fresh Pink Tutu Prague post! I'm back in the Czech Republic after a whirlwind trip, filled with ballet, shopping, and some truly stunning architecture. Let me tell you, Prague is just as beautiful as everyone says! It's like stepping into a fairytale.
This week has been particularly exciting as I managed to see âThe Nutcrackerâ by the Czech National Ballet! Now, I know what you're thinking â August? But hey, in Prague, the ballet season is truly year-round. The Czech National Ballet is world-renowned, and their production of âThe Nutcrackerâ was truly something special. The dancers were amazing â so graceful, so talented! It was the perfect way to start my Prague adventures.
Speaking of amazing things, have I told you about the sheer magnificence of Prague Castle? I mean, I knew it would be incredible, but seeing it in person just blew me away. The architecture, the history, the panoramic views... it truly takes your breath away. I had to take a whole day to just wander around, soaking it all in, and taking a thousand photos (ok, maybe 2 thousand). The best part? A cheeky visit to the Royal Gardens. It's a stunning oasis in the middle of the city, with the most beautiful blooms and a peaceful atmosphere. Just picture me, my pink tutu swirling in the gentle breeze as I admire the cascading roses and lilies.
Of course, no trip to Prague would be complete without some serious shopping. Now, don't worry, I wasn't exactly looking for pointe shoes (though maybe I should!), I was on a mission for the most beautiful, intricate pink tutu that Prague has to offer. You know, something whimsical and airy for all my Prague performances! And let me tell you, this city is a shopper's paradise. I found the most fabulous vintage shop nestled amongst the charming cobblestone streets. They had so many exquisite treasures â even some real Victorian ballet skirts. And my latest tutu acquisition? Well, itâs a delicate creation made from silk and lace, in a stunning blush shade that's perfect for my new Instagram feed (you can follow me on @PinkTutuEmma if you havenât already!).
It wouldnât be a Pink Tutu blog post without a mention of the local dance scene, right? While there are several ballet schools in Prague, I managed to find a charming little dance studio called "BaletnĂ SvÄt". It's a bit hidden away, tucked into a quiet corner of the city, and has this fantastic bohemian atmosphere. They offer ballet, contemporary, jazz, even ballroom, all in a really welcoming, inclusive space. I managed to squeeze in a morning class, which was fantastic â the teachers were so talented and the students were absolutely charming.
Now, how could I leave you hanging without sharing a little taste of my absolute favourite way to explore this amazing city: by pony! I know what youâre thinking â not your typical transport in a big city, but hey, I think itâs totally in the spirit of "Pink Tutu Prague!" This little pony, "Rosalinda", is absolutely gorgeous! Sheâs all white with a lovely pink halter. It was the most idyllic way to spend a sunny afternoon - cantering through the beautiful streets of Pragueâs Old Town and taking in the sights, with Rosalinda prancing right alongside. I know, I know - It sounds crazy, but it really was magical!
Speaking of magic, let me just remind you that this incredible experience isnât just about ballet and beauty; it's also about bringing more pink tutus into the world. Because, I truly believe everyone has a ballerina within them, waiting to be set free. Itâs a feeling of grace and joy that we all deserve, and a little pink tutu is a great way to express that. I hope my adventures in Prague, and all of my posts, will inspire you to embrace your inner ballerina.
Next week Iâll be back with more fun from Prague - stay tuned for more "Pink Tutu Prague" shenanigans!
Until next time,
Emma xxx
