Pink Tutu Prague: Post 1219 - The Magical Dance of the Czech Republic!

Hello lovelies! It's Emma here, your resident pink tutu aficionado, and I'm positively thrilled to be bringing you a blog post direct from the cobbled streets of Prague, the enchanting capital of the Czech Republic. This week, we're stepping away from the Derbyshire hills and embracing a whirlwind of culture, ballet, and (of course!) some fabulous fashion finds!

As you know, my love for ballet knows no bounds, and this trip has been all about exploring the rich theatrical heritage of this stunning city. The beautiful, baroque architecture, the intricate history, and the infectious energy - Prague has truly captured my heart!

Travelling in Style:

Let's be honest, part of the joy of any journey is the getting there, and this time, I embraced the romance of train travel. It's something I find utterly charming - the gentle rhythmic swaying, the passing landscapes, and the quiet moments to soak it all in. Plus, it gives me ample time to perfect my tutu-clad travelling look (a pink paisley scarf, a vintage floral-print coat, and a beret? Absolutely!). I do love the feel of a fluffy tutu bouncing in a train carriage, making me the envy of fellow passengers. They even make me tea in the cafe carriage. Just saying!

Speaking of transport, I had the most extraordinary experience with a pony last week! In the heart of the city, in a hidden courtyard, there are actually a few adorable ponies used for kids to ride. Well, as luck would have it, they let me have a little trot. A pink tutu is rather practical, being long, floaty, and good for all occasions, you can just gather it up under your knees!

A Dance with Destiny:

The highlight of my Prague adventure, however, was attending the enchanting "PinkTutuPrague" ballet performance held at the National Theatre on 17th October! I couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue – its majestic facade is truly breathtaking. And the inside, oh, the inside… pure architectural bliss! My tutu (a shimmering cherry-red creation adorned with tiny pearl details) certainly got some admiring glances as I entered the opulent lobby.

The performance was nothing short of a magical spectacle. The dancers, with their grace and precision, truly embodied the spirit of this city. The intricate choreography, set against the backdrop of a story about a young ballerina discovering her own magical powers, captivated me.

Of course, after such a glorious show, I indulged in some well-deserved treats – decadent Czech pastries that melted in my mouth! They say there's nothing quite like a sugary high after a successful dance performance, and this trip is definitely no exception.

Prague's Fashion Secrets:

This city is truly a haven for fashion lovers. I’ve been exploring charming boutiques tucked away in side streets and uncovering vintage treasures in antique shops. Think chic Parisian flair infused with a touch of Eastern European charm - and the most exquisite fabrics! It’s impossible to leave Prague without adding some unique pieces to my wardrobe.

I picked up the most gorgeous hand-painted silk scarf adorned with dancing ballerinas in swirling tutus - so obviously, I had to pair it with a pink silk dress. Who can resist a splash of pink on a cool, cobbled day in Prague?

My Prague Bucket List:

This trip has only ignited my desire to explore even more of Prague! I have a long list of must-do’s on my bucket list:

  • Dance Lessons with the Locals: I have a feeling there's some fantastic ballet schools in Prague – it would be wonderful to get a taste of the local ballet style. Imagine: me, twirling with other enthusiastic dancers, all in our pink tutus!
  • Explore the Story of the Czech Ballet: This is a history-rich nation with a vibrant ballet tradition. I can't wait to learn more about its renowned dancers and choreographers.
  • Fashion Adventures in the Markets: Apparently, there are several bustling flea markets that sell exquisite vintage finds! I’m ready to bargain for some extraordinary outfits, perhaps a velvet opera coat, or a sparkling bejewelled headband - you can never have too many vintage accessories!

A Message from Emma:

This trip to Prague has reminded me once again why I love travelling - to discover new cultures, to see the world through fresh eyes, and to inspire you, my dear readers, to embrace your inner pink tutu-wearing selves! And if there's anything more I want you to remember, it's this: pink tutus, beautiful destinations, and wonderful dance performances... that's a recipe for happiness right there.

Until next week, stay fabulous!
