Prague in Pink, Post 1218: Dancing in a Dream
Hello my darling tutus,
It’s Wednesday again! And you know what that means... drumroll intensifies... A brand new Pink Tutu Prague post!
I’m typing this with a big smile on my face, as I’m writing from the most fabulous city I’ve ever visited! Prague. Yes, Prague. That beautiful, magical place with the golden spires and cobbled streets that look like they’re straight out of a fairytale. Honestly, I feel like I’ve walked into a storybook!
This week’s adventures have been absolutely sparkling, just like my favourite pink tutu!
Firstly, let me tell you about the journey here. It wouldn’t be a proper Emma adventure without a little bit of whimsy, so naturally, I travelled by train. I mean, come on, what’s more charming than watching the world fly by from a big window, listening to the gentle clatter of the tracks?
However, the real treat was the final leg of my journey. I hopped off the train and… took a pony ride. Yes, you heard right! I mean, imagine: me, in my pink tutu, atop a majestic horse, a breathtaking view of the Czech countryside spreading out before me… it was straight out of one of those romantic films, but without the drama and with a lot more pink!
A Ballet History Lover's Paradise
Prague, as I quickly learned, is not only a haven for fairy tale lovers, but also for ballet enthusiasts! Did you know it has a rich history of ballet? It was practically built for pirouettes! It even boasts a stunning opera house - a real grand dame!
You know, my favourite part is discovering how ballet and tutus have evolved through history. It’s like unfurling a delicate pink ribbon of stories and beauty. It feels almost magical, and I get completely absorbed in the intricacies of each era. From the rigid, structured movements of the past, to the breathtaking leaps and extensions we see today, every style tells a story and expresses a certain kind of beauty. I love that we get to be a part of this ever-evolving artform.
Prague's Theatre Scene: A Night of Ballet Brilliance
Speaking of stories, imagine this: a beautifully restored theatre, its walls adorned with faded gold and rich crimson, stage lights illuminating the faces of the dancers in soft, magical light. On stage, a performance by the National Theatre itself! The music… the movement… the sheer magic!
And I got to be there, dressed in my new pink tutu - of course! The moment the music began and the curtains went up, my heart literally did a pirouette.
Oh, but I nearly forgot the most delicious bit: dinner afterwards. The kind of fancy dinner where every plate looks like a masterpiece and the dessert is an absolute dream. It was the kind of experience I want to replay on repeat… and maybe I will! I always have to share a bit of magic, so I might treat myself to a special dinner and a little ballet in the coming days!
Fashion Adventures and Pink Perfection
Every day in Prague feels like a delightful waltz through a fairytale! The streets, the architecture, the energy… it's just wonderful. And naturally, it wouldn't be a trip for me without a bit of fashion exploration.
My suitcase is now overflowing with a treasure trove of new goodies: flowing skirts that shimmer with pink and lavender, hats with feathers that I can imagine perfectly adorning the head of a glamorous ballerina, and sparkly shoes for those evenings when the dancing really calls for some extra magic.
The vintage shops here are unbelievable. You could spend hours just exploring! I've unearthed some absolute treasures, like a tiny velvet bag covered in sequins that will be perfect for carrying my little ballerina trinkets, and a stunning silver necklace that feels like it belongs in a vintage ballet performance.
Honestly, it's not even about the things I buy… It’s the joy of discovery, the feeling of being in a fairytale, of feeling connected to all the ladies who wore these treasures before me. Every piece tells a story. That's what makes it all so special.
Making Friends with Pink Tutus Around the World
And guess what else I’ve discovered: I’m not the only one who loves wearing tutus! While I’m usually rocking my signature pink, Prague seems to have a secret society of women who embrace tutus just as passionately as I do. In fact, a sweet older lady called Katerina and her granddaughter saw me walking past and actually complimented me on my tutu! We even had a delightful conversation about ballet.
Later that day, while wandering through a park, I bumped into another group of women, all wearing beautiful tutus! We spent the afternoon together, sharing stories about our love for the art form, giggling over shared fashion adventures, and sipping on sparkling pink lemonade… Oh, how I love this international tutu community!
My Dream for the Future... More Pink Tutus!
This whole Prague trip, from the train journeys to the ballet performances to the vintage fashion finds, has been nothing short of perfect.
But it's more than just a fabulous vacation - it’s been an inspiration. I've always dreamed of sharing the joy of tutus and the beauty of ballet with the whole world… and this trip has only fuelled that passion even more. I've come back from Prague wanting to share this magical experience with everyone I know! I’m already planning my next performance – the kind that’ll sweep people off their feet and maybe even inspire them to grab a pink tutu!
See, my ultimate goal isn’t just to see more of the world in a tutu. It’s to inspire others to do the same. Imagine a world where tutus aren’t just for ballerinas, but for anyone who wants to twirl with joy! Imagine the world awash in pink!
So, until next time, keep on dancing, keep on exploring, and most importantly, keep your spirits light and pink!
Lots of love,
Emma www.pink-tutu.com
