Pink Tutu Prague - Ballet Bliss & Bohemian Charm 💖✨🩰

Hello lovelies! It’s Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu post! 💫 I’m so excited to share my adventures from Prague with you - it’s truly a city that stole my heart. 💕 This week's post is extra special, as I'm celebrating my 1234th blog post! 🥳

If you're anything like me, the mere mention of Prague conjures up images of charming cobblestone streets, magnificent architecture, and perhaps even a touch of fairy-tale magic. And let me tell you, the reality truly lives up to the hype! 💖

Now, let's dive into my journey…

Train travel: a touch of elegance 🚄

My journey to Prague was an absolute delight, beginning with a glamorous train journey from Derbyshire. As always, I opted for my most darling outfit: a beautiful, bubblegum-pink tulle skirt with a delicate, silk top and of course, my signature pink tutu! It wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu journey without a touch of pink. 😉

I find that trains offer such a wonderfully tranquil way to travel. You get to relax, enjoy the views, and even have a little fun with your outfit. 💃 My fellow travellers, most notably an older gentleman with an absolutely divine pink polka dot tie, were charmed by my choice of attire! I mean, who wouldn’t be?

A touch of Prague magic 🪄

As soon as I arrived in Prague, I knew I was in a special place. The atmosphere was electric with charm and a palpable sense of history. My first order of business, of course, was to indulge in the local delicacy: trdelník! This delicious pastry, a cinnamon-sugar-dusted treat, is baked in a metal cylinder, creating its unique spiral shape. Mmm, simply heavenly! 🤤

Ballet bliss: A glimpse of Czech brilliance 🩰

And of course, the real reason for my trip was ballet! 🩰 On Wednesday, January 30th, I treated myself to an evening of utter enchantment at the National Theatre. The show, "Swan Lake," transported me to a world of romance, beauty, and incredible choreography. It truly was an unforgettable experience, showcasing the immense talent of the Czech ballet scene.

The enchantment of tutu history

But my fascination with ballet extends far beyond the performance itself. The history of the tutu is equally captivating. The National Theatre's incredible ballet history exhibition revealed the intricate development of the tutu over the centuries, from its origins as a simple, calf-length skirt to its more elaborate and whimsical forms of today. I absolutely adored seeing how the tutu has been shaped by historical events, cultural trends, and even advancements in fabrics. It really puts a whole new appreciation for ballet fashion in perspective! 💕

Shopping sprees & street style inspiration 🛍️

What trip would be complete without a little retail therapy? 🛍️ Prague is a shopaholic's dream! The Old Town Square bustles with charming boutiques filled with handcrafted jewelry, locally made crafts, and all manner of exquisite fashion. And I can’t resist a little souvenir shopping, picking up beautiful handmade ornaments for my friends back in Derbyshire. I also found myself absolutely enamoured with the city’s street style. The ladies of Prague are so effortlessly chic - think leather jackets paired with whimsical floral dresses and pops of colour! It was definitely a source of inspiration for my own outfits, adding a touch of Parisian flair to my own ballet-inspired ensemble. 🗼

Tutu tales: Pink power in the Czech capital

It wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu adventure without a little bit of pink power. 💗 I even got to share my love for pink tutus with a local ballet school in Prague! They loved my enthusiasm, and even had me join them for a few steps - they loved my graceful pirouettes! I left them with a little gift – a bag full of gorgeous pink tulle fabric, perfect for their future costumes. 😉

Finding magic in the everyday

Beyond the big performances and bustling shopping streets, I found so much joy in simply wandering through Prague's charming neighborhoods, soaking up the atmosphere and discovering hidden gems.

The Charles Bridge, for instance, is simply breathtaking. Lined with historic statues, this ancient bridge offers panoramic views of the city, and I swear I saw a little fairy flitting around as I took it all in! (Maybe it was just a little bird but I like to think it was magical). 💖

Dining delights & delectable delights 🍴

No trip is complete without delicious food, and Prague did not disappoint! I had the most decadent pastries, mouthwatering goulash (a traditional beef stew), and even the most amazing ice cream – it was even pink! 🍦 The beauty of this city was mirrored in the incredible flavours of its cuisine.

Leaving with a piece of Prague in my heart ❤️

Prague, you truly captured my heart. The magic of this enchanting city lies in its rich history, vibrant culture, and the friendly people who welcomed me with open arms. But above all, Prague’s enchanting atmosphere was a beautiful testament to the beauty of the human spirit and the art of embracing life with joy, just like the graceful sway of a pink tutu. 💖 I can’t wait to come back and explore more of your hidden gems. Until then, keep twirling, my darlings! 🩰
