Prague Dreams in Pink: A Ballerina’s Parisian Adventure - #1235
Hello, darlings! It's Emma, your Pink Tutu girl, and I'm practically pirouetting with excitement because I'm writing to you from Prague! Oh, the charm, the cobblestone streets, the history, and most importantly, the exquisite ballet scene - all wrapped in a whimsical bow, naturally! It's Wednesday, the day my lovely little blog comes alive with all things pretty and pink, and today I'm sharing a little bit of my Czech fairytale.
Remember when I said that I'd love to get everyone wearing a pink tutu? Well, the mission started in my humble Derbyshire village, but it's spreading, spreading faster than a runaway pointe shoe across the stage! And I have a feeling Prague will embrace my mission wholeheartedly. I mean, this city already feels like something straight out of a romantic ballet.
Now, this week is a whirlwind of "en pointe" activities. I'm spending the week immersing myself in the beauty and history of this city. On the schedule, besides all the ballet performances and shopping I've been doing, I'm ticking off Prague’s iconic sites - the majestic Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, the magical Old Town Square. But today, let's dive into the heart of the magic, darling: ballet!
A Touch of Pink in the City of DreamsI'm so excited to say I’m here in Prague for the Ballet Theatre Prague production of "Giselle"! This show is so, so lovely. This show is classic, romantic, and has such incredible energy, you'll feel like you’ve entered a fairytale! They always have such incredible dancers in Prague and the staging of the show is just breath-taking. The story tells a tale of a beautiful young woman named Giselle who is in love, heartbreak, and even a magical journey.
This week is filled with ballet - and let me tell you, the talent here in Prague is just extraordinary!
The Czech Ballet has a rich history, and they are absolutely famous for their exquisite productions. I've already sampled several ballet schools here, and let me tell you, darling, these ballerinas are absolutely captivating! They’re moving like graceful swans and light as feathers. My goodness!
Speaking of graceful swans, I've been working on perfecting my own pirouettes, because you just know I can't go to a city like Prague and not try out some new steps! It’s all a bit overwhelming, really. All these fabulous dancers and their incredible talent - they have inspired me so much! But of course, in the end, a good ballet class has everything to do with confidence, even if your steps aren't quite as polished!
Fashion in Prague: Finding my Inner BallerinaNow, let's talk about the fabulous fashion of this magical city. The architecture, the history, and the fashion sense - all so beautiful and enchanting! And, of course, a girl needs a little fashion inspiration while she’s travelling, doesn't she? Let me tell you, this city is brimming with wonderful boutique stores and vintage treasures.
The other day I spent a happy afternoon hunting down the perfect pink tulle to add to my wardrobe (a tutu wardrobe, of course!) I mean, what better city to indulge in fashion than a city of dreams and style, like Prague, right? The boutiques in Prague are incredible - they have so much personality, you’re going to have so much fun in there. I ended up finding the perfect soft pink tulle - the texture, oh darling, the texture! - to use for my next tutu masterpiece.
But the highlight of my fashion tour has been stumbling across the most stunning vintage ballet shoes! These exquisite shoes were from the 1940s. They are in this exquisite shade of cream and white, and the little leather bows are practically calling out to be worn on a night of dancing! I almost bought them just for the feel of them. These elegant and vintage ballerinas would be so, so elegant in an evening setting. But let's be honest, I just cannot say no to these adorable shoes. I may have to break into a pirouette or two just to show them off!
And let’s not forget the importance of wearing the right shoes. You want to dance, you want to see, you want to be comfortable for your trip, but you also want to look good, darling! There are so many opportunities for taking pretty photographs around Prague, so of course, I needed the perfect outfits! I spent one delightful day scoping out the city’s markets, seeking out unique accessories. The details and the colour and the unique stories of the local people are so fascinating.
I’m already picturing a stunning ensemble featuring this new tulle with those exquisite shoes – a dream! This combination will be absolutely perfect when I’m on the stage ( or even just on the streets, for that matter!)
The Enchanting Enchantment of PragueYou know how much I love travelling by train, darling. It’s just so romantic and gives you a chance to gaze at the scenery while enjoying a little afternoon tea - so chic! So I came to Prague by train, which was a beautiful experience. I fell in love with Prague on the train journey in! Imagine rolling hills, emerald green forests, medieval towns - I was enthralled. I just knew I would feel at home in this amazing country!
Prague has a real sense of fairytale, especially in the winter. The beautiful fairy lights are strung up all over, adding a sprinkle of magic to the charming atmosphere. Everything feels romantic. And of course, all of the little cafes have their Christmas markets and it's all so beautiful and enchanting! There’s an aura, and even the air smells magical. Everything seems to twirl like a ballet!
I mean, how can a place like this not inspire the imagination? Prague, I’m absolutely smitten with you! It’s my favourite place! Prague is just pure magical elegance, and if you ever visit, let’s be sure to take some enchanting photos in the most picturesque locations! We can dress up and embrace our inner ballerinas. The streets are just made for that sort of thing. And maybe even visit the famous Strahov Monastery – I have been told the library there looks so majestic, it will inspire your dreams!
Speaking of dreamy, let me share some thoughts for you for the week, my lovely little ballerinas. How often do you treat yourself to a luxurious experience, like taking yourself on a delightful escape to somewhere new, somewhere elegant and sophisticated like this gorgeous city? Go ahead and embrace those big dreams. Treat yourself, my darlings! Because in my world, a little self-indulgence, a new pair of pointe shoes, a trip to somewhere like Prague - all those lovely little moments, they're just as much part of ballet as pirouettes!
Now go forth and embrace your dreams. This is a new week to have fun!
Stay stylish, stay fabulous, and never stop dancing,
Emma xo
